Is there one for this? If there's one for this, please tell me. Easily one of their signature song and their biggest hit. Reach #1 in Billboard Hot 100, #1 in Alt., #1 in Rock, #1 in Adult Pop, #1 in AC, #11 in Pop

Amazing song that turned out to become the biggest hit of their career.
This was on a whole other level compared to their other singles.

If they hadn't lifted the song directly from J'en Ai Marre by Alizée...but the songs are practically identical.

I hated it then and hate it now. Just an awful, stupid song.

I liked this song, but I think Coldplay has had much better.

Cool memories of this. One of their best songs and I agree that it's timeless.

Probably the best #1 Hit of the 21st Century, and one of the best #1's of all time.

This is good but "Clocks" remains their best song.

13 years ago today, "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay reached No.1 on the Hot 100 for a week, becoming the band's first chart-topper. It was released as the second single from their fourth album "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends." The song also reached No.1 on the Adult Alternative Songs, Adult Contemporary, Adult Top 40, and Alternative Airplay charts. "Viva La Vida" received the Grammy Award for Song of the Year but most importantly, it became Coldplay's first No.1 single on the Official U.K. chart. This is my favourite record of the Noughties. It has such a majestic production, it feels triumphant and epic, and then those lyrics...just phenomenal!

I've always liked it, but this was one of those inescapable songs where the overexposure kind of killed it for me. I prefer "Violet Hill" and "Lovers in Japan" for that reason, although it's been long enough now that I'm sure it would probably like it again now. I remember the album being pretty fantastic, so I'll probably give it another listen soon.
