I can count the songs that got instant replays this year on one hand, and this is one of them. Pretty much all of them were served up by King of Pop Max Martin, too. This is a hit.

I was hoping that she would find a way to combine her unique sound with pop elements in order to get a hit, but that doesn't appear to be happening.

Is this happening before or after Playboy stops doing nude shoots?

No thoughts either way, I guess. A cover is a cover, but the mag hasn't been relevant in years. Hopefully she doesn't pull an Azealia Banks and say something ridiculous in a misguided attempt at attention.

No nude shots but they are very hot but then again...it's Tinashe, so that's to be expected. I haven't read the article yet though.

If the PARTYNEXTDOOR feature is true, than that may be my most anticipated track. Their lanes are so perpendicular to each other. They both do atmospheric R&B like no other and you get immersed in their sound. The way he flipped "Latch" from Disclosure x Sam Smith on "Sex On The Beach" is incredible.

If it’s not already clear, Tinashe swears she’s gunning for worldwide superstardom on Joyride, a still very much in-progress album that aims big in its production, songwriting, and ambition. The final track list has yet to be revealed, but early demos include gorgeous ballads like “Fires and Flames” as well as collaborations with Houston R&B up-and-comer Dpat (“Coldish”), and London soul singer Joel Compass (“Touch Pass”). She’s also enlisted former mixtape cohorts Boi-1da (“Not for Nothing”) and Dev Hynes (“Ghetto Boy”), as well as power-players like Hit-Boy and Travi$ Scott (the title track). Joyride — which is due sometime in late January or early February, according to Tinashe’s team — also notably boasts its share of proper pop singles, including the already-released Chris Brown duet “Player” and “Prisoner,” a scorcher produced by members of Max Martin’s camp, Wolf Cousins.

“Prisoner” is a slow-burning, orchestral pop song produced by the Wolf Cousins, who are from the Max Martin crew in Sweden.
