Like I'll Never Love You Again is so sexy and yet...it almost made me shed a tear. I listened to this album finally on my headphones and yes, yes, YES. I stand behind my initial rave about it. Better than Blown Away (there were a few sappy songs on there I didn't care about until WHOOOO ARE YOUUUUU? comes on and sends me to heaven) because, while there are a handful of songs I LOVE on that album, I agree with the consistency factor on this new one, in that it is consistently excellent. I still miss my #LICKIT jam. I must be one of like 3 people who LOVE OWT. It's one of my favorite Carrie songs, period, because it makes me think of my happy place: the beach. Plus, her vocal is so jaunty. I'm one of the three, too! It was my ringback tone back when those were still a thing... lol! I am the 3rd of the 3! OWT is a jam and I don't care what anyone says.

Get that nasty 5 Seconds of Summer s**t out of here. #dnw No. Should we eliminate the three artists below Carrie Underwood? The timing of the CD could have been moved up a week earlier or pushed back a week later to give her a double #1 album on country and top 200 charts.

When they plan a release date, how are they to know what their competition will be? It's kinda sucky timing, but it's not something you can really work around... It worked out so no big releases were scheduled last week or for next week, but it could have very well gone the other way... Honestly, Carrie will have a multi-week #1 country album, and she even has a decent shot at an all genre #1 next week (assuming there are no surprise releases).

Labels are usually aware of when artists are releasing prior to picking a release date. Hence, why pretty much everyone that thinks they normally have a shot at #1 on the Billboard 200 chose to avoid the November 20 release date this year, because it was all but confirmed for about 3-4 months prior to this week that Adele was dropping 25 that week.

I always thought people loved her story songs. The recent talk about how she has too many was genuinely surprising. I, for one, love them - I feel like "Dirty Laundry," "Church Bells," and "Choctaw County Affair" are the best ones here, but holy crap both "Chaser" and "Relapse" are outstanding too. I also like the more subdued, personal songs, sure, but she definitely excels with telling fictional tales. Either way, she delivered to us an incredibly strong effort.
Also, I cannot be the only one who wants "Broke as hell but blessed with beauty" to become as ubiquitous as "Darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream."

Random drive-by post, but Carrie's new music comes at a perfect time of year. I get to drive around and listen to the album with this view! :) ... Perfect!

Carrie's team likely had the 10/23 date picked out for a while. It also coincided with the 8 year anniversary of Carnival Ride, so that's probably why they picked it. I'm just glad all 5 of her studio albums will have peak in the top 2 on all-genre and that this will be her 6th consecutive #1 album on the country chart.

So there are 4 of you. Good on you, guys! One Way Ticket is great for concert. I enjoyed it initially on first few listens, but it became a skipper for me pretty soon.

I found this "Best Young Female Vocalists" video on Youtube and was VERY happy to see that Carrie is on the list! Link can be found here and her section is at 9:13.

Just heard "Little Girl Don't Grow Up Too Fast". Cute, but I'm glad it was just a bonus track. It reminds me so much of a demo Carrie recorded years ago called "Pretty Little Girl". I was also glad that one never ended up on an album. Plus, I have to agree with those who have said Taylor did the subject more justice on "Never Grow Up," a much more emotionally effective song.

I need "Dirty Laundry", "Church Bells" & "Mexico" as singles. The videos will smash.

Apparently her stage will be in the center of the audience. SO COOL!
I wonder if there will be a second leg to the tour. The closest location for me is Boston... But you bet your ass I'll be going!

Of course I'll be finding a way to get to one of the shows, but I'm upset there are no shows in the Long Island/NYC area! Nassau Coliseum here on LI is closed due to renovations, but I wish there was an MSG or Barclays Center show! :( Maybe on the 2nd leg, which I'm sure will happen next Fall.

A second leg will undoubtedly be announced. She doesn't have a single Southern California, Pacific Northwest, or Nashville date, and very few shows in Texas, Canada, etc. Have no fear, y'all. Excited for the center stage! I'll be pissed if M&Gs don't happen at the festival dates, though.
Edit: figured one of her openers would be Easton Corbin the second I saw that she followed him on Twitter last week. Him & the Swon Bros. ......

I guess I'm okay with The Swon Brothers. They're friends with Carrie so it wasn't unexpected. She helped them get signed to the label after all, from which they've been recently dropped apparently. But Easton Corbin? Why??!! I was so hoping for at least one tomato. Cam was no longer an option as she's touring with Brad. Jamie Lynn Spears, Jana Kramer, Lauren Alaina, Kelsea Ballerini, Mickey Guyton on rotation would have been cool.
Trying to organize my life so I can fly in and see a show. The in-the-round concept is exciting!

Loved the Ellen interview. Despite not necessarily *loving* Storyteller, I'll always be a Carrie fan, as aside from her immense talent and nearly unmatched work ethic (presumably), she just seems like such a great person. We need more artists like her.

Sam Hunt did a surprise release today of an acoustic mixtape album and it has overtaken Storyteller on iTunes. I'm pretty sure Carrie will still be tops on the Country Albums chart at the end of the sales week, but man, Sam Hunt has been such a chart monster this year!

I don't imagine him selling 150k+ in 3 days... I hope. And about the tour, I genuinely wish she had a date closer to me. The closest show is Boston... on a Tuesday night.

No Charlotte for the first time on a Carrie tour. Looks like I'll be going to Greensboro. Its always iffy buying a concert ticket for a 2 hour drive in February here. We could be 50 and sunny or in an ice/snow storm. I'll take my chances for Carrie tho.
