OMG YES! So excited! I really like the title of this and judging from the lyrics, the hook sounds very clever ("Ain't nothin' ring like a southern belle" -- love that!). Can't wait to hear this one and see how it does on radio. <3

Leave it to me to be asleep when I got the message about this song! I was just coming here to start the thread. lol, that's ok. This should shape up to be Scotty's biggest song yet! www.nowdecatur.com/95q/ has posted they will debut the song after 5PM Central time today! tasteofcountry.com/scotty-mccreery-southern-belle/ Great review! Written by Jason Saenz and Sean McConnell. Produced by Frank Rogers. Released in July 2015 by 19/Interscope Records/Mercury Nashville. Somewhere down south there’s a swingin’ screen door Sundressed beauty on a hot front porch Knocking one back baby, oh my Lord, have mercy Shootin’ out gravel, saying, oh my stars She’s Dukes of Hazzard in her daddy’s car Amazing grace in a Mason jar, have mercy You can go around the block, ‘round the town, ‘round the world But there’s nothin’ like a down home girl Chorus: Ain’t nothin’ ring like a southern belle Those angels singin’ down in the Bible Belt Well brother, if lovin’ those sweet tea, blue jean dreams is wrong Well, I can’t help it Ain’t nothin’ ring like a southern belle Saturday night with the red lipstick Just like Scarlet, she’s gone with the wind Sunday mornin’ with the honey biscuits, have mercy You can go around the block, ‘round the town, ‘round the world But there’s nothin’ like a down home girl Repeat Chorus Baby swing low, makin’ me high Wanna catch your heart like firefly Hold on to you for the rest of my life Have mercy My baby swingin’ low is makin’ me high Wanna catch your heart like a firefly Hold on to you for the rest of my life Ain’t nothin’ ring like a southern belle Those angels singin’ down in the Bible Belt Well brother if lovin’ those sweet tea, blue jean dreams is wrong Well I can’t help it Ain’t nothing ring, no nothin’ rings like a southern belle Oh, like a southern belle Well brother, if lovin’ those sweet tea, blue jean dreams is wrong Guess I’ll be wrong with my southern belle © 2015 BMG Platinum Songs/Gravity Gone Songs, admin. by BMG Rights Management (US) LLC; Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp./Little Beluga Music, admin. by Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp. The one thing I am curious about how much momentum Scotty has. I'm expecting a long slow climb.

The one thing I am curious about how much momentum Scotty has. I'm expecting a long slow climb. He scored two big hits with his last album and he has a ton of fans so I'm sure it'll do well for him. It still sounds like a country/rock song but there are production parts in the pre-chorus where there's a robotic/auto tuned part as well we'll see how well THAT's liked. Overall it's a fun little song.

Ok neither of those 2 songs were huge hits. See You Tonight kinda just went along. But Feeling It. Um no. That one took forever to hit the Top 10. Plus it fell like a rock prety fast. I think Scotty has some but not a lot of momentum.

I don't expect this to go up fast or anything, but I imagine it'll wind up doing well by the end of its chart run just like his last two did.

I just heard this on 95Q and I'm not really into it. I feel like the production is more rock heavy and there's some autotune that feels out of place to me. It's basically a bro country song but with a better vocalist backing it.

Others better listen quickly, NO WAY that is allowed to stay up by UMG too long.

Dang it, I missed hearing the song play on 95Q by just a few minutes. :| Hopefully it won't be long until the full version surfaces online. I am surprised though by the comments thus far. If it is more rock heavy and has a bit of auto-tune, that is not the direction Scotty said he was going with this next album. Wasn't this album supposed to lean more traditional? If you look at my post above yours I have the full version linked to hear it.

It's still very much a country song in both tone and melody. It's just they put some interesting production touches into it in the pre-chorus. It's not all that different from George Strait's "Stars On The Water" cover where autotune was used (way back when).

The Soundcloud version is quite muffled so, I will wait to judge. From what I've heard of Scotty's new song, I would agree with you that it is not much different from George's "Stars On The Water" (autotune wise). I do like Scotty so I do hope this does well for him.

Yeah, I'll just wait for an official audio clip to surface. That Soundcloud audio isn't a good way to really get a true feel for how the song actually sounds.

Which has generally been my approach about anything streaming unless Spotify/Apple level of quality, etc. Don't know how people can 'review' based on super compressed streams like stuff from allaboutcountry, etc. (at least how those used to be).

It's the best I could do recording off online radio with a free app program. It's a hint at least. I love the song, especially those oh so low notes he does! Wow!!

Hard to judge based on the SoundCloud upload. The track sounds promising, though and Scotty's vocal performance sounds great. Added bonus is the instrumental break towards the end. Loved "Feelin' It" and this one will do the trick for me, too!

Thank you for uploading it at all :) Even with the poor audio quality, I can tell that I'm going to really love this song. Love this style of country. Can't wait for the studio.

Exactly; any audio is better than no audio. I'm not that enthused by the sounds of this song but perhaps my view will change when the official audio is released.

problem with just reading and rarely commenting is that I have a hard time remembering my password, thought I was gonna get locked out lol. Most definitely different then what i thought I would hear after hearing his "Whip Lash" and reading his comments that he has made regarding his album. Thanks for the audio! not amazing quality but like others have said but its better than nothing! even so im thinking i will like this song

This pic is giving me Country Clay Aiken teas... anyone else?
Anyways, I was late to the party, but I really liked the singles on his last album, and I liked his first album, so I'm looking forward to this!

www.iheart.com/live/b939-2906/?autoplay=true&pname=4203&campid=play_bar&cid=main.htmlB93.9 is playing it every hour on the dot, just got done hearing it on there. That autotune (or whatever) in the beginning is pretty brief that it didn't bother me I do see this song as being a good one for scotty. I definitely enjoy it more than Feelin' It...i cant forgive him for "waves are wavin', flip flops are flopping". Though this late in the year for a ~newish singer im thinking his album will be release early next year?

Scotty has said the album will most likely be released early 2016. He's only recorded 5 songs for the album so far.

947 QDR 10 mins Scotty McCreery's new single "Southern Belle" originally was set for a July release. His label Mercury Records Nashville made a change and sent us this today. “The Scotty McCreery single we originally scheduled for a 7/13 add date to radio. It has been moved to September to give us more time for a proper set up. After discussing yesterday with management we felt that it was in everyone’s best interest to wait till September.” So Scotty 94-7 only wants the best for him. As much as we would like to play the new record on the air, we're going to wait until it's the right time
Ok this is f-ed up! They send it to radio with a release date. Some stations are already playing it and getting fans excited, then the label tells them to STOP playing it for 3 more months when Scotty hasn't had a single out in a year! Mercury Records, F You!
I took my recording of it down due to the pushback.

A song being pulled has happened before. It usually means a different single is released right away. Generally, the original single choice didn't get a good response. This situation is strange because from all accounts many critics & radio PD's seemed to like it.

Proper roll out? I wonder if they have OTV selection for September locked up or something. Otherwise it makes zero sense to send this to radio now when the adds date is so far away.

Scotty shouldn't be a candidate for OTV anyway since he's been around for four years and has two top 10 singles, as well as a couple other top 20 singles, so I don't think that's what this is. They probably won't narrow down potential OTV selections 'til next month anyway since Cam was just announced as the most current one 2-3 weeks ago. This is a strange situation and I won't even speculate why Mercury would potentially hold this back til the fall until I hear further confirmation.

He wouldn't seem like a candidate, but Dustin Lynch had a bigger hit than Scotty ever had, and he was able to secure the OTV. I'm not saying that what you said night not be the case, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised at if he did get chosen.
