www.billboard.com/biz/articles/6613307/meek-mill-motoring-toward-his-first-no-1-album-on-billboard-200-chartMeek Mill Motoring Toward His First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart By Keith Caulfield | July 01, 2015 8:26 PM EDT Rapper Meek Mill is heading for his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters suggest his latest release, Dreams Worth More Than Money, could move over 200,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 5. That should easily place the set atop the Billboard 200 chart when its top 10 is unveiled on Wednesday, July 10. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Meek Mill’s last album, 2012’s Dreams and Nightmares, debuted and peaked in the No. 2 slot with 165,000 sold in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. The album's latest single -- "All Eyes on You," featuring girlfriend Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown -- debuts at No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated July 11. The trio performed the song on Sunday's BET Awards. Other albums set for high debuts on next week’s chart include Miguel’s Wildheart, X Ambassadors’ VHS and August Burns Red’s Found in Far Away Places.

Damn! Didn't expect Meek Mill to hit that high, good for him.
What did his debut end up selling overall?

This is the power of having the Northeast Hip Hop scene behind you. Like I already said Glove Slap it's about that longevity. They always debut high and then just drop.

Did HITS take off for 4th of July week? Was really curious about what Miguel's projected numbers would be. Billboard didn't even bother throwing out a number for him, which makes me think it's going to be low

HITS probably did not do estimates because this is for the 11 day chart week.

i wonder if HDD is going to change the timeline of their chart as well. the great thing about them every week was that their charts were released before Billboard . under the new schedule Billboards final top 10 sales will be released late Monday .so if they don't change no one will care about their charts anymore.

^Yes, it's a normal week. Of course Keith has the wrong date:
"The final charts utilizing sales data from a Monday to Sunday cycle (June 29 through July 5) will post on Billboard.com on Thursday, July 9, and will be dated July 18."

Everybody loves Miguel's album, I think 80k minimum. (Hope) 80k seems a bit of a lofty goal...Kaleidoscope Dream opened with 71k, and it had Adorn fronting it. Miguel is a critics' darling, but Wildheart doesn't have a hit at all yet, and other than some reviews the buzz seems nonexistent. Avid music lovers and critics know the album is out but the average listener probably does not. I do think Miguel has picked up several fans in the past couple of years, so I'm hoping 40-50k is a reasonable guess.

That's true. I was thinking that two 400k+ albums should make it open a bit better than that.. We'll see. Wildheart is not as good as KD but good nevertheless.

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=296729YOUR NEW RELEASES… SORT OFPLEASE NOTE: Due to the Friday Global Release Date, kicking in this week, new release projections will now be done on Saturday mornings. Our target is to have one-day sales projections available by 10am. However, as the labels and retailers adjust to the new schedule, expect some fluidity during the transition. In addition, new release projections will be updated on Mondays to reflect weekend sales. Here are the titles we’ll be tracking this weekend: Kidz Bop 29 (Razor & Tie) Owl City (Republic) R5 (Hollywood) Tyrese (Voltron)
