Houseguests, these are the rules and guidelines for playing this game. Please read these over at some point before starting.
RULES/GUIDELINES
+ Game discussion can only take place in the BB3 thread, pre-approved links provided my either myself or surf, or PMs. PMs MUST include both Surf and myself.
+ No quoting messages from one PM to PM, from a PM to the main thread, or from the thread to a PM. You can paraphrase as much or as little as you want. To clarify though, you can use the quote function in the thread the quote originated in.
+ Once you have been evicted from the game, you are no longer allowed to post in this thread or communicate with other players about the game. You will be provided with either a link to the Green Room, or the Jury House if passed a certain point in the game. If you make it to Jury House, we strongly suggest you no longer read this thread. Scout’s honour will be enforced.
+ If you’re in an alliance or PM with an evicted player, you must start a new PM without that person.
+ There may be instances of competitions in which you will have to play directly with me or surf in real time. In these cases, we’ll arrange times that work.
+ It’s possible there may be a time when all players will have to be online at the same time to participate in a competition. If this happens, we’ll let you know in advance so we can work around issues with time zones and availability.
+ All times given are Eastern Standard Time.
+ There will be some competitions that take place on websites outside of Pulse that will require a screencap. When taking a screencap, you must have your Pulse profile page visible somewhere within the cap that also shows the current time and timezone. This will be the timestamp linked to your submission. If this isn’t included, your submission will not be accepted.
+ Flavours have no actual significance to the game and are just meant for fun.
+ If something comes up in real life that might impact you being able to access a computer for a period of time, please let us know in your Diary Room PM and we’ll try work around it if we can so you can continue playing.
+ When deadlines are set, they’re set. That means in most cases, we won’t delay or move up events like eviction ceremonies when everybody has voted. This is to allow for maximum potential for last minute game changes and decisions.
+ With that said, if you miss a deadline, you forfeit your place in that competition or, if it involves the duties of choosing nominations or veto, your position as HOH or POV. In any such event, these roles will default to the second-in-line.
+ You are not allowed to discuss competitions as they’re happening with other players.
+ You will be expected to participate in Diary Room discussions. We will occasionally ask you questions about the game. These discussions will be posted once the game is finished.
+ All eviction votes must take place in your Diary Room PM. Nominations ceremonies will need a go-ahead from either Surf or me.
+ You can discuss voting intentions but you may not confirm who you voted for until the eviction ceremony is over.
+ I expect each game cycle (HOH comp + nomination ceremony + POV comp + POV ceremony + eviction ceremony) to take approximately 4 days, however that could change once the game starts as we get the hang of scheduling. There are 11 cycles so it should last about a month and a half to two months.
+ Surf and I can and probably will introduce twists. Any twist we introduce will be done in complete fairness to everyone playing and has been decided before the list of players was finalized. ie. The twists are already planned so we aren’t playing favourites.
+ All ProBoards and Pulse rules still apply in this thread, with the exception of the double-posting rule.
+ No cheating, obviously.
+ With that said, no editing or deleting posts at any point in this thread.
+ If you see someone cheating that you believe Surf or I might have missed, let us know. It also helps to take a screen cap if possible.
+ If you violate any of the rules, you may receive a warning, temporary sequestor from the game, or be eliminated.
+ Ask questions if you aren’t sure about something. You can ask in this thread, in your Diary Room PM, or any other game-related PM. Please bold your question so we will know you’re directing it at us for a response.
