YOUR WEEKEND NEW RELEASES Here’s our first crack at one-day projections from New Music Fridays. Please expect a greater than usual margin of error as we become familiar with how new releases are affected by the new street day. We will update on Monday to reflect weekend sales. Tyrese (Voltron) 50-55k sales, 55-60k SPS Kidz Bop Kids (Razor & Tie) 40-45k, 41-46k R5 (Hollywood) 30-35k, 33-38k Owl City (Republic) 15-18k, 17-20k ( HDD)

Meek Mill and TS are probably #1 contenders with Tyrese.

I'm impressed with Tyrese. He is consistent. I found out that his album was coming two days before its release. Maybe his "actor name" helped him out a bit because I thought he would be lucky to push anything over 15K.

So, essentially, Friday is the new Tuesday. Sales will now be accounted for on a Fri-Thursday basis, and mid-week projections will appear on Tuesday, instead of Thursday. Another new attribute to note: The chart will be reset on Monday afternoons and the numbers will continue to build throughout the week. So, be sure to keep checking the charts to follow the action as it happens. Thanks to the transition period, this week's numbers account for an eleven-day period. It's a bit perplexing, we know, but just focus on those deep breaths, buddy. Everything will normalize shortly.

Maybe his "actor name" helped him out a bit because I thought he would be lucky to push anything over 15K. There's actually been a lot of positive buzz around "Shame" and its upcoming short film. I think it helped out his sales a lot. 55-60k is definitely impressive when you consider the state of album sales (especially for R&B artists), how long he's been in the business and it being released through his own label.

I can see Tyrese going up. If Meek went from 246k/255k to 307k with this new week count thing..

I can see Tyrese going up. If Meek went from 246k/255k to 307k with this new week count thing.. That was only because of an unheard of 11 day tracking period. Tyrese will have the regular 7 day tracking period.

^Relax. It's a weird week. www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6633541/tyrese-black-rose-number-1-billboard-200-albums-chartTyrese Aiming for First No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums ChartBy Keith Caulfield | July 14, 2015 Singer/actor Tyrese is set for his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters suggest the entertainer’s new Black Rose effort -- released July 10 on his own Voltron Recordz (distributed through Universal Music) -- could earn 70,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 16. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Billboard 200 chart (dated Aug. 1) is scheduled to see its top 10 revealed on Billboard’s Web sites on July 18. The Aug. 1-dated chart is the first to reflect Nielsen Music’s new sales tracking week, which now runs Friday through Thursday (instead of Monday through Sunday). Tyrese, who co-stars in this year’s blockbuster film Furious 7, has visited the top 10 of the Billboard 200 twice previously. His last album, 2011’s Open Invitation, debuted and peaked at No. 9 off a 76,000 sales start. Before that, he reached the top 10 with his second album, 2001’s 2000 Watts (No. 10 debut and peak; 92,000 in its first week). The Billboard 200’s current No. 1, Meek Mill’s Dreams Worth More Than Money, will likely slide to the runner-up slot. Other albums heading for high debuts on the Billboard 200 include Kidz Bop Kids’ Kidz Bop 29 album (with a forecast of perhaps 40,000 units), R5’s Sometime Last Night (30,000) and Owl City’s Mobile Orchestra (15,000-20,000).

Tuesday is the new Thursday! hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=296815YOUR TOP 15: TUESDAY IS THE NEW MIDWEEK2015 has been very good to Caroline. This year, for the first time in the distributor’s history, they scored a #1 album with All Time Low’s Future Hearts (on the Hopeless label). This Friday, when our sales and SPS charts are finalized, Caroline will have had three chart-toppers: All Time Low, Alabama Shakes and this week’s #1, Tyrese. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=296819Believe the hype: XO/Republic’s The Weeknd It drops on 8/28 and it's blowing up in preorder. Estimates for Beauty’s first week at retail are in the neighborhood of 250k and could well grow.

These days seem off (same with Billboard and the top 10 report on Saturdays)- HITS used to post the top 15 preview two days after new albums were released (on Thursdays)- now, HITS will post it four days after (on Tuesdays)? Maybe, like it said, though, it will take some time to adjust.
