Damon Albarn is going to start recording their first album since 2010 in September, and the album is set for a 2016 release. The singles off Plastic Beach didn't do to well here, so I'm hoping the lead single is something a lot more lively than "Stylo". Source

Was not here when Plastic Beach was released. You said that the singles did not do well here? That's interesting. It was a good album overall. Can't wait to hear more about their next release :)

Can't wait to hear more about their next release :) I wasn't here either, but Stylo only peaked at #25 and Rhinestone Eyes at #35. Stylo especially didn't do well, considering it was the lead single. The only other of their singles to peak lower than that besides Rhinestone Eyes were 19-2000 (#28) and El Mañana (which missed the top 50, I think.)

I'm excited. I love Gorillaz. I thought Stylo and Rhinestone Eyes were both pretty good, as well as the rest of Plastic Beach.

I'm one of the few posters (if not the only one) charting the new Blur singles, but I'm expecting even better from this new Gorillaz cd

What about "On Melancholy Hill"? One of their best, IMO. Probably in their top 5 songs for me. Hoping for something more hip-hop than what Plastic Beach was.

Just listened to Demon Days in full yesterday, that's one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm stoked for new Gorillaz, Damon Albarn has been on fire recently with his rapid release of material.

That's strange because Stylo is a classic Gorillaz song. Huh... Well, everyone has their own jam!

It's been a long while, but I'm interested in what their new material sounds like. I've never liked enough songs of theirs on each album to keep them, but I did like the singles much better from "Demon Days" than "Plastic Beach."

Excited, and I actually think they've got a decent chance to rebound and possibly become relevant again. I think a song like "Dare" would be a massive multi-format hit today.

I'm one of the few posters (if not the only one) charting the new Blur singles, but I'm expecting even better from this new Gorillaz cd I will readily admit that the only reason I HAVEN'T charted a Blur single is because I'm just not sure which one to actually choose. On the other hand, new Gorillaz...unless it's terrible (which would be incredibly surprising), it'll chart for me and, at the very least, go top 5. Gorillaz hasn't failed me yet. Oh, and "Stylo" is one of my favorite songs of the decade so far. It's a musical masterclass.

I used to never like "Clint Eastwood" or "Feel Good Inc." when they were big, but now I love them. I guess those aged well for me? Intrigued to hear this though.

Feel Good Inc. is definitely in my all-time top 5. It's almost on par with other Alternative masterpieces like "Viva La Vida", "Everlong" and "Better Man" for me.
I'm excited to see what kind of sound Damon is going for this time.

I'm excited. "Feel Good Inc." and "DARE" grew on me quite a bit, although it took a while. Same with "Stylo" and "Rhinestone Eyes".

Gorillaz Music Planned for Next Year, Jamie Hewlett Says
By Natalie Weiner | October 12, 2015 2:51 PM EDT
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, who came together in 1998 to form Gorillaz, have been hinting at new music throughout 2015 -- now, Hewlett says, they're actually in the process of working on new material in anticipation of a 2016 release.
“That’s next year," he told DIY Mag of the Gorillaz project in a new interview to promote his first art exhibition in London. "I’m working on it at the moment, and it’s going very well. I’m very excited." It's been four years since the group's last release, 2011's The Fall.
"I don’t want to say too much about it, but I’m at that phase of experimentation," Hewlett continued. He's been posting teasers of the new fictional "members" of Gorillaz on Instagram throughout the year -- see one example below.

According to this link from KROQ, Damon Albarn promised that the new album is arriving soon. However, last month, Jamie Hewlett said that the album won't arrive until 2017 so idk

hey, i think this Benjamin guy is someone that Wheat has charted recently...anyway, this sounds like a buzz track and not the 1st radio single...this definitely will need some time for me to get into, i don't dislike it but i don't find it immediately accessible
