On the good side, can we talk about how his music video aesthetic has shifted though? I definitely noticed it first with "Call Me Every Day", which I thought was super fresh & beautiful.
No more futuristic-inspired nighttime shots with neon lights and outer space/alien references. We love growth.

I love CMED video. UTI video was very typical; however, I agree with you.

This is why I MUCH prefer the BET Awards and Soul Train Awards where R&B artists are far more celebrated and praised there.
Last time I watched the AMAs was probably in 2019. Haven't cared too much for the Billboard and MTV Music Awards in recent years either, unless I see some long time faves there.
Wasn't planning on watching tonight anyways, especially now hearing they cancel Chris' performance.
The Grammys is the only mainstream music award show I can probably tolerate right now.

Are they though? They aren’t any better these days even though they throw some R&B acts on the stage. And the Soul Train Award doesn’t get the love it had in the past at all despite being the best award show produced these days.

Well, regardless of opinions, I still find the BET Awards and Soul Train Awards more appealing to watch overall than the mainstream ones. It's all a matter of preference.
