I have to admit; I love the way you are presenting your chart. I did something similar last year. I think I did 50 a day, but it was already 2015. Also, I don't stop my weekly charts like other do. I think it Keeps the suspense up and keeps it open for comment. Let's see. For starters, I can see myself slotting both,Interpol and Neon Trees, around the same #s too. Both barely scraped my top 40. I also charted "First Things First" from Neon Trees. That one reached #34 on my chart, but disapeared from week to another into oblivion. Overall they performed pretty poorly this year.

i consider the bottom quarter of my list to be the "meh" section...some songs i list out of sentimental reasons (M Hutchence) & others because even though i wasn't crazy about them, they were still alternative hits & are relevant to the year in music. The really good stuff won't start showing up until December arrives.

but it's all stuff you charted, so you must like it to some point. Why chart songs you don't even like? I wouldn't even consider adding songs to my HOT LIST section if I thought they were just "meh". As for your other point; "Renegades" was pretty revalent to the year in Alt music and not even payola would make me chart that song. ;)

I have to admit that aside from Chris Cornel , My Morning Jacket, and Halsey; I'm not too familiar with the last batch of songs you posted. Those I too consider "meh". Halsey isn't too terrible, but shoulda stayed clear from Alt radio format.

I pretty much agree with the next group of songs, except the rock ones. I love "cow bell".  and looks like "Deep Six" just barely missed the "things get much better" portion of your list?  ;)   "Deep Six" will easily be in my top 10.

133. Weezer - Da Vinci. This song was interesting. I think it coulda done more on the charts, but I actually also peaked it around 30-32. I guess it just burnt out before it's time.

136. The Struts - Could Have Been Me. This might actually be one of the lowest positions I see this song appear on a year end countdown? I'll definitely rank it super high. Possibly 11-20. It's still flying high on my chart and could well crossover to 2016?

"Different Colors" was  also top 20 worthy. I couldn't get into "Cold Cold Man" . I never liked the song they borrowed the melody from either.
