I've got confirmation that this is done on Alt - it's pulled from PlayIGA (it's still available on AAA though; but I don't expect it to do much there).
I say Eventually, Reality in Motion or The Moment for third single if there is one. Still prefer Yes, I'm Changing and Love/Paranoia though. Or they could try New Person, Same Old Mistakes (which Rihanna covered on her latest album).
These guys are so underrated...

Regained its bullet. I don't see it exploding all of the sudden, but I can see it sticking around for a little while longer.

I've only begun to really notice this song's existence and I'm almost wondering whether I should just get the album. I don't like being late on music but I'm also in need of something to momentarily obsess over and I feel like they could be right up my alley.

I'm surprised this hasn't done better. This should have been able to go Top 10.

I don't know what happened, but this is back as a current on Mediabase. Damn, I was going to make a joke that this was the reason why Mediabase was late today. My guess is that they brought this back the same way they brought back "Something in the Way" a month ago - renewed interest due to TikTok, but way, way too late. It's also on #13 at Billboard Alt Recurrents. And for those out of the loop, this was also the #2 for the RD I did for them, only behind "Let It Happen". Anyway, this is absolutely ridiculous, even more so than The Batman song.

Honestly? Tame Impala had sort of belated chart success with their latest era, and this is one of their most popular songs, so why not let it get its due now? I think that can go for a lot of songs that should've been bigger by artists who later had more success.

I love this song, but Let It Happen has to be my all time favorite from him.

Yeah, this is crazy. I was pleasantly surprised by how well “Lost In Yesterday” and “Is It True” both managed to perform. This track is such an iconic indie gem that’s never gotten its due, so, I guess I’m rooting for it? It’s not my favorite Tame track either, that’s a tie between NPSOM, Borderline & FLWOGB.

Radio is officially a joke now. They don't give a damn about what's recurrent or not, this is ridiculous.

I don’t see the issue personally. If a song was never a radio hit to begin with, why can’t it become one years later?

I guess we won’t have to worry about Alt stations flipping to classic Alt because Mediabase is going to make the format a “classic” format from the ground up! Whee!

i'd be okay with this reeentering if it was like. a hot new track lots of people are discovering for the first time (as it was back in 2017-2018). that said, the tame impala moment seems to have firmly passed in pop culture, to the point of their overexposure literally being a meme. it's not even like this is a lesser known currents track either, it's tame impala's biggest hit by a country mile and already had a BILLION streams. as much as this should've been bigger during its first run. cmon man

Huh. I was looking at my station's playlist last night and saw this on there and though it was odd this never went Gold -- guess that makes sense now. But, yeah, if "Something In The Way" returning to the chart was late, then this is ancient.

Yeah I've been noticing SoCal Audacy stations playing it since at least May. Fantastic tune. All I get on 91X is Elephant :((

This song may as well be the MGMT - “Electric Feel” of the 2010’s in that it’s a tune that most fans of alternative music around the world are familiar with it, but the charts totally missed the boat on it for whatever reason. It’s in the billion plays club on Spotify by an artist that went too 10 with “Elephant” in 2013, and “Lost in Yesterday” in 2020, with very minimal chart activity in between despite not ever really going away. That’s a blown opportunity by US Alt radio any way you look at it, and I don’t blame them in the least for chasing current trends in popular culture. I personally love it. They don’t even have to call it a “current” although it does strike me as more fascinating that way.

I'm a bit on the fence of this recurrent thing happening to many songs. I am happy some 80's songs and this getting second chances, but my main issue is the many stations doing this (usually Audacy) barely have technically "brand spanking new" music outside of big artists like Muse or Jimmy Eat World for example, they ignore a lot which is a shame because so far this year there's a ridiculous amount of good songs coming out as usual, and many I wouldn't catch on a generic alternative Audacy station, I would on Chicago's 93XRT but not on something like KROQ for example. I feel maybe they could call it something else and seperate it from being actual "new" music? idk.

renewed interest due to TikTok, but way, way too late So just to confirm, this is a TikTok thing? Sorry, I'm not a TikToker (so far!). Just need to know how to code it in my next Alt compendium update! If so, in what context was it used (so I can go find it and check it out!). crash46 is right, this'd've been better if it was just another Electric Feel situation; especially since my local Alt has had both in their rotation for years!

Don't think radio could have worse timing if they tried, song was popular on TikTok for two and a half years and only started to die down like a couple months ago Younger people are gonna get sick of hearing this on the radio QUICK if it's played like a current.

Yeah... the more I think about it, it's probably best for stations to just put this in regular gold rotation if anything. In fact, that's probably the best approach for stories like this from now on - at most, maybe they could have a "trending throwback" category.

Sixth most added (tied with "Scared Together" and "Part of the Band") with six adds this week.
