"Boomerang" was (at least) co-written by Maddie & Tae. They performed it Friday when I saw them in concert. They said it was one of the songs they left off their own album.

I just bought the Target Deluxe version of this album after having the standard version streaming on Apple Music since the initial release. Holy cow, I was not a fan of Jana when her debut album was released, but I am so in love with Thirty One. The upbeat songs are great, and she sounds amazing on songs like "Circles" and "Dance In The Rain." I guess, I'll find out once I reach the deluxe tracks, but is "Why Ya Wanna" a re-recorded version or alternate version? I am so confused? Ultimately, I LOVE this. I am so pleasantly surprised.

I wonder when they will anounce the next single. Probably when this peaks in a week.
I hope they have their sh!Γ· together and pick the right hit. She could blow up if she gets another hit. Like get a couple female nods at award shows in 2017.

I am definitely curious to see what they announce as a follow up single. I think my ultimate problem with having one of the uptempo songs as a single is I can see those songs could be polarizing mainly due to in my opinion how rough Jana vocals get. I stand by my statement that Circles would make a good spring to Summer hit. I just feel like songs like Bullet, Boomerang, Don't Touch My Radio, and especially Said No One Ever her vocals could be rather polarizing to listeners which could lead to a quick flame out and kill all momentum. This is just a gut feeling I have,

This is just a gut feeling I have, Female songs are always "polarizing" as it is because they're females and have a natural bias against them at country radio. While I think "Circles" is fine and wouldn't be a bad single (it's more of a mid-tempo than a straight ballad), I think waiting on that til fourth is better and an uptempo needs to be next. Radio is not going to play another ballad from Jana and turn it into a hit directly following IGTB. That's just not gonna happen.

Yeah and I still think that those uptempo songs will also fail because I can see Jana's vocals on songs like Bullet basically anything uptempo Jana tends to lay on the country accent so thick it would make Moranda Lambert sound from Boston. I see her vocals alone being polarizing to most listeners on those songs. While on the ballads her song sound much more smoother.

If we were talking about Frankie Ballard or Brett Eldredge I would probably agree with you. But I don't think it's going to matter what Jana releases next, it seems destined to struggle. Not only is she a female, but she's also coming off an extremely long and exfcruciating chart run nearing 50 weeks. Recently I've noticed that songs with such long chart runs tend to lead to struggling follow-ups (Love You Like That - Hole In A Bottle, Baby Me My Love Song - Yup, etc.). I think her best chance is to just release the best critically acclaimed song, which is "Circles" by a mile it seems. She's just got to hope that The Highway or Bobby Bones get behind her next single (or anything else likely to enhance her publicity), and releasing a well reviewed song will increase her chances IMO. I just think an uptempo song from her will probably get pretty bad sales and callout scores (as frustrating as that is). My vote is for "Circles", and just keep releasing the best songs she's got. It's not like she has an extensive catalogue of ballads yet, and "Circles" is more midtempo like you said.

I am really starting to wish her label would change their mind on the single and go with circles OR Don't touch my radio... Please dear lord change you're mind WARNER.. lol. This is a huge freaking risk and I'm not sure she has enough star power to get this to the top just yet..
THOUGH I do really like Said No One Ever, I just think it's way to risky..

I get none of you like this song because really it's garbage.. i know but this is exactly the type of shit radio eats up.. it's upbeat, it's catchy, it has zero substance, perfect. We are talking about a country radio where garbage like "Sun Daze" ... hits #1. . I wouldn't be surprised one bit if this is another top 5 for Jana. I'm happppieeer when i'm lonely. don't want love to last forever.. SAID NO ONE EVER. i'm guilty of liking this song btw.

I'm just scared it'll kill her momentum she regained from I got the boy.

I think "Said No One Ever" could be pretty polarizing and there are more 'digestible' uptempos they could go with for the next single, but I do think the gloom and doom over this single selection is a tad extreme. I'm not exactly optimistic it'll be a hit (or that anything would be because she's a female so there's no predictability there except to anticipate unpredictability), but I agree to an extent with @cjbhab that it's a catchy, fluffy, ear-worm type song that I can see radio being fine with. I just hope they do a lot of promo work for it/whatever they release on and off radio (appearances, performances, whatever); Jana just had her baby so she'll probably take a little time off, but her singles chart slowly so hopefully she'll be back on her feet by the summer to get some promo in.

This album was a huge healing album for me, I really love Jana for who she is but her music is were my heart connects the most, it's like I can be in whatever mood and suddenly be OK, and it's because of this album that I don't get nearly as mad, sad or just super down.
Now radio honestly stresses me the **** out πππ I loved "LOVE" π€π€π€π and was disappointed with its end result, but I lived on and awaited her next smash. little did I know it would be a song I knew every word to cause I heard the live version from YouTube 1 year before. I instantly fell hard again for her music again with "I Got The Boy" : it still is my favorite. Then the album drops and I drop dead #dead ππ I remember hearing 'Dance in the rain' I just cried my little eyes out, I couldn't even. Then I heard 'said no one ever' loved it, but at that point I didn't know it would be the follow up to the smash IGTB. Well I'm really bummed they didn't play it safe/smart cause they kinda ruined her future single aka. The beauty #circles. Which should be way higher than it is know.
I honestly hope her lead single comes either in January or April and it's a duet with a big name. If the lead isn't a duet I hope it's a fun uptempo, pop country, radio ready hit, she deserves that.
I apoligize for misspellings and such, I'm on mobile right now ππππ€π€π€π
π
πππππ₯ππ
Here's hope to a new single and album thread soon πππ
