Gap is closing between 5SOS and Carrie! Still not impossible... Two days of sales left, too!
TOP 15: 5SOS FEELS THE POWER Capitol’s 5 Seconds of Summer will score their second #1 album on Friday, as Sounds Good Feels Good bests 19/Arista’s Carrie Underwood for the top spot. Adele’s 21 re-enters the Top 15 on the strength of her exploding new single, “Hello,” from her forthcoming 25.
Not included here, but surely a Top 15 contender, is a new acoustic album from MCA Nashville’s Sam Hunt. Released today, Between the Pines currently sits at #3 on the iTunes chart. Here’s how it looks at midweek.
*5 Seconds of Summer (Capitol) 175-185k album, 185-195k SPS *Carrie Underwood (19/Arista Nashville) 155-165k, 165-175k *Blake Shelton (Warner Bros. When will Taylor? :'( Please keep nonsense like this on Twitter. I'm just joking, chill. But really, shooting straight to top 10 just because of a comeback single? That's worth a holy shit.

2 days left and hopefully Storyteller can sell at least 30k more and 5sos numbers won't increase.

Now that SPS is included in composing the charts, I bet '19' and '21' both make a return to the top10. Wouldn't it be insane if it were the same week that '25' debuted at #1. You just never know with Adele ;)
This is all so exciting!

because of SPS, 25 is going to stay in the Top 10 until 30 comes out.

Carrie, as many have said, will be very reliable through out the rest of the year. Reviews have been positive, and she will have several hits from the disc. 5SOS will also be fairly stable. They should have no problem clearing 1 million when all is said and done. I'm not that sure of that. I remember when they debuted last year and during the first weeks they competed with Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, but after a while their album dropped hard, and Ed didn't even sold 1 million last year, so i'm not sure at how much 5SOS sold of their first album but i doubt they are too much over 1 million. And if they are not able to score a hit (and their songs have a short life in the chart) i don't think they'll reach 1 million with the new album (specially when they are about to open with less sales).

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298280Friday, October 30, 2015 CHART STORY: IT'S SUMMER IN FALLThree Debuts Comprise the Top 3; Adele Prepares for Total Domination Capitol's 5 Seconds of Summer has topped the HITS Album Sales Chart with 180k and the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart with 195k for Sounds Good Feels Good, the follow-up to their breakout, self-titled debut. 19/Arista Nashville country megastar Carrie Underwood follows at #2 with 164k for her fifth studio album, Storyteller, and Verve's renowned classical recording artist, Andrea Bocelli rounds, out the Top 3 with 41k for his fifteenth studio album since 1994, Cinema. RCA a cappella champs Pentatonix, who topped last week's chart, remain in the Top 5 and hold strong with another 25k in sales. We'll raise a cup of Cracker Barrel coffee to that. The real story, however, belongs to XL/Columbia queen (and queen of the basically everything right now) Adele. Powered by the massive hype of upcoming album 25—due 11/20—and the jaw-dropping success of single "Hello," her 11-times platinum 21 re-enters the chart at #9, just above Demi Lovato's Confident (Safehouse/Island/Hollywood) and Taylor Swift's 1989 (Big Machine). Meanwhile, its predecessor, 19, re-enters the Top 30. For some perspective, "Hello" is now guaranteed to chart with over 1m downloads in the first week—a feat that has not been achieved in the digital era. The only single in the modern era to sell more is Elton John's "Candle in the Wind," which sold 3.4m physical copies in its first week of release in 1997. 25, on the other hand, has already sold 250k+ in pre-orders, and speculators are speculating that it could bow in the neighborhood of 2m. Streeting this week are NOW/UMe's 56th installment of Now That's What I Call Music, deluxe re-issues of Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill (Maverick) and Imagine Dragons' Smoke + Mirrors (KIDinaKorner/Interscope) and new albums from Columbia's The Neighbourhood and Mailboat's Def Leppard.

21 #9 and 19 #30. 21 shouldn't have much trouble passing the 12 million mark with the album campaign. Anyone know what the sales of 19 are in the US? Wonder if it could pass 3 million in the US by the end of the album campaign!

^Didn't I tell ya to wait until the Nielsen/Billboard sales showing? ;) HITS has been dropping the ball in regard to the album's sales from non-traditional outlets (which comprise the majority of its total sales).

And wasn't the final figure for albums only last week about 19k? So how's 5k a 52% decrease?

HITS' total was around 19K; so, going by its own figures, that would be a 75% or so drop. Like I said, HITS is a mess in regard to this album's stats, period.
