Eat your heart out, sabre14 : At work yesterday, during the noon hour, I heard Wild West Show by you know who. I instantly thought of you and that put a smile on my face! Love that song. Probably an unpopular opinion, but that's probably my favorite Big & Rich song. I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. Perhaps many don't list it as one of their favorite Big & Rich singles, simply because it was largely forgotten about after the explosion of "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)" (I still think many fans don't even realize "Wild West Show" was their debut) but I don't see how anyone can say its not a good song. I think it might be my second favorite of theirs, behind "Holy Water."

I remember hearing "Wild West Show" twice on my birthday in 2004 and thinking that I was in the presence of an exceptional new act. I even bought the CD single with "Saved" at a Walmart and wore it out before I got the album. It's still my fave with "Holy Water" as well. I still can't figure out why "Holy Water" wasn't huge. It got to #15 in 15 weeks, then just abruptly reversed course.

It got to #15 in 15 weeks, then just abruptly reversed course. I do remember hearing "Wild West Show" on the radio for the first time in the Spring of 2004 and thinking (or saying out-loud) "what is this and who sings this great song?!" "Holy Water" was actually the song on the album I payed the least attention to when I bought it but once it was released as a single, the light-bulb turned on and I loved it. I guess I was just amazingly taken back by the whole record's wacky-but great songs ("Rollin'", "Kick My Ass", "Real World", "Saved", "Love Train", "Live This Life") I didn't even take notice of a stellar emotional song like "Holy Water" -- a song that has some of the best instrumentation I've ever heard on Country radio. It peaked at #12 on R&R and I thought for sure it was heading for the top 10. "Big Time" peaked at #16 on R&R and again, I was baffled why it stalled.

Right when I was punching out yesterday, my store played I May Hate Myself In The Morning. I thought I died and went to heaven.

I heard a badass bluegrass instrumental in Tops today. I was totally in awe at it. I don't know what it's called though and that's frustrating :(

In a local supermarket yesterday: * Sara Evans - "Anywhere" (!!!) Ugh, I'm jealous. I'm so sad that this song was DOA at country radio. It should've been a big hit and it's a bummer that I never heard it on the radio. :(

Walmart brought back Walmart Radio recently, and working there, they play a good mixture, including country.
I've been working overnight the past month, and they play a loop each night, at it usually changes every day.
Last night heard "All Things Considered" by Yankee Grey and "Someone Else's Dream" by Faith a lot. Few nights ago, Yankee Grey was in a different loop. There have been other good songs played, but ca't remember them off the top of my head..Taylor Swift is played a lot, but it's mostly her pop music anyways..
Have also heard "Third Rock From The Sun" a few times..

Tully's:
Blake Shelton - "Boys 'Round Here" Chris Young - "Aw Naw"
They seem to have a soft spot for 2013 Country radio.
