First single from the first, and only, female R&B singer signed to Ludacris' now defunct subsidiary label of Def Jam, DTP came Shareefa. She was hot on the heels of Keyshia Cole releasing her debut album vying to be the next voice of the hood like Mary J. Blige. It reached #60 on the Hot 100 and #10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in 2006. It was produced by Darkchild in another one of his re-inventing sound days. It samples The Stylistics "Let's Put It All Together." I still jam every now and then and was sad to see her falter out so fast with her 2nd single "Cry No More" which was also produced by Darkchild and showed another side of his production chops even though it was the same formula of flipping a sample like Kanye was so known for at the time.
Keyshia so conveniently worked with Darkchild on her sophomore album with her own hood rat in tow and proceeded to steal her album title later as well causing one of the lamest twitter beefs in 2014, even though the banger shade was quite accurate.

I liked her voice more than her songs. This was alright.

This was and still is trash. I remember laughing hilariously when I first saw the video. Just such an unfortunate hodgepodge of stuff.

I played the hell out of this. Second rate keyshia and all but this was such a hood anthem. "No One Said" is another highlight. Ron Fair produced her and keysh's album.

LOL @ some of your comments. I just remember "boss" being the urban phrase of the year thanks to Rick Ross and Kelis. As for this song, the beat was hot, the hook was catchy, and Luda's verse was fiyah. I thought Shareefa would get another hit out of "Cry No More".

Vocals, strong hook, hot beat, Luda on point, what's not to like? JAM. I always felt bad for her, because this song sounded nothing like what Keyshia had released up until that point. But Lord forbid two black women be successful at the same time.

That song was really loud but I still loved it. That beat was hot as hell.
