So what are you charting? What are you basing it on? It looks like there is a mix of current and non-current singles. How does a song leave your chart?

So what are you charting? What are you basing it on? It looks like there is a mix of current and non-current singles. How does a song leave your chart? For that matter, how do songs rise or fall in your chart? Assuming it's just based on how much you like them. These are all great questions! The main idea is to chart current songs. However, for this first iteration I chose to include some slightly older songs (such as "Better Than You Left Me", "Fly", "Save It For A Rainy Day", and "Buy Me A Boat") so that I am starting out with songs that are ready to start falling immediately. That way I will not have to worry about chart clog right off the bat. I also tried to place a lot of the current hits where I thought it would make sense given the amount of time that they have been released, hence songs like "Burning House" and "Stay A Little Longer" being ahead of "I Am Invincible" and "Cold Beer Conversation". In terms of leaving the chart, a song will be allowed 2 simultaneous weeks of losses, and then be dropped on the 3rd week. And of course the lower-charting songs could simply fall off the chart. The rising or falling is purely based on my whims. It is not necessarily how much I like them; a song's final peak will be a pretty good reflection of how much I like it, but the rising and falling is based on how quickly a song can rise given the songs rising and falling in front of it, very similar to a real chart. I am specifically avoiding doing a "favorites" chart, because that would be pretty boring for me and everyone else. I mean, I might have like 10 songs I LOVE in a 6-month period Also, for this first chart I pretty much stuck with songs that have been singles (except "The Blade"), but in the future I will also be adding album tracks as I see fit. My general rule will be that I will defer to an artist's current single, but once they are in a lull between albums I will gladly chart whatever song(s) off their last album I feel could have been great singles. For example, look to see Sara Evans make an appearance in the very near future with her "3rd single" off of Slow Me Down! Another example, I will definitely be charting more songs off of Reba's latest effort once Nash Icon decides to stop releasing singles.

Here it is, week #2 of my personal chart! This is a very exciting chart for me, because this is the week where we actually start to see movement with the songs :) Week #2: Dated 11/8/15 Your #1 song:
That's right, this week Carrie Underwood leaps to the #1 spot as Mickey Guyton relinquishes the top position. She falls to #4, allowing Chris Young and Blake Shelton to surge ahead. Maddie & Tae as well as Kenny begin to fall, while Dan + Shay, Terri Clark, Reba, and Cam see steady gains.
Brothers Osborne continue to dangle on the cusp of getting their very first top 10 on my chart, as Kenny Chesney only falls to #10, holding them to #11. Chris Janson tumbles back 5 spaces to #17. Big & Rich struggle to get enough spins to make the top 15, allowing them to be passed by Ashley Monroe. LoCash post positive gains, yet still lose a chart position as "Riser" lives up to its name. There is a similar story for "Live Forever", which loses ground in the face of impressive gains by Rainey Qualley and Cassadee Pope.
Craig Campbell starts to fall, unable to get past a peak of #22 despite the relatively high quality of "Tomorrow Tonight." Randy Houser feels LoCash and The Band Perry's frustration, as he also maintains his bullet but falls behind Zac Brown Band, Chase Bryant, and Cole Swindell. Sam Hunt and George Strait surge ahead of Tim McGraw, but Florida Georgia Line allow Tim to stay ahead.
Brad Paisley and Parmalee also lose ground, but their songs are still young enough that it is too early to tell whether they have peaked or if they will regain their bullets. Luke Bryan, however, has definitely peaked, and almost falls clear off the chart. Hunter Hayes and Old Dominion DO fall off the chart, allowing Sara Evans and Jo Dee Messina to debut with new songs this week!
Falling Off: Hunter Hayes - "21" - (Peak: 49 - Weeks on: 1) Old Dominion - "Break Up With Him" - (Peak: 44 - Weeks on: 1)
New Entries: Sara Evans ft. Isaac Slade - "Can't Stop Loving You" (Debut: 43) Jo Dee Messina - "Say Goodbye To Superman" (Debut: 50)

I absolutely love your chart! I'm so glad you started a chart and I'm super happy to have been of help to you in getting you to start one! Your format is beautiful. I'm jealous of how good it looks, haha. You also have pretty excellent taste, but I already kinda knew that. ;) I also can't stress how excited I am to see "Can't Stop Loving You" debuting this week! What a pleasant surprise! <33 I hope Terri, Reba, Cam, Jana, Rainey and Kelsea keep moving up to name a few.

Songs I am rooting for. Jana Kramer Lauren Alaina (guilty pleasure) Rainey Qualley (She will flip you bird and he'll kick your lights out) Haha out of 50 songs, only those 3?? But I agree with you, those are some of my favorites on here. I tried to give them room to grow so they can chart for awhile :) What a gorgeous and well-organized chart. Awesome job, bboat11! So many great songs. :) Thank you very much! I pride myself on being gorgeous and well-organized, so thank you for noticing... ;) Chris Young now at #2! Love that. Nice to see Terri Clark in your Top 10. Great job! :) Thank you! Look for Terri to be one of those artists who consistently does very well on my chart :) I adore your format and most of the songs charting. Keep up the good work! Thank you for your affirmation! I definitely will try :) I absolutely love your chart! Thank you so much! It is nice to know that you love it :) Also, as far as the format goes, I just made it in Numbers (the Mac equivalent of Excel) and it was really easy! Haha if you wanted to make something similar I wouldn't mind. I can give you pointers anytime! Although I definitely really enjoy your chart and think it is a very clear and easy-to-follow format :) As I have discussed with you before, it was extremely difficult deciding which song from Slow Me Down to pick as the next single... Ultimately I chose "Can't Stop Loving You" because (aside from being an awesome song) it already has real single artwork! That was the deciding factor for me, since the single artwork is one of my favorite features of this chart :) Also, you can definitely look forward to seeing each of those lovely ladies making significant gains in the future, because they are all awesome singers with awesome songs

Nice to see both the 'good and bad' sides of country represented here. Kinda like trebor's chart. Good no. 1 too, and great chart format. Ah yes, I have decided to do my best to include a wide variety of songs, from both women and men, whether I think they are high quality or not. Ultimately a song's final peak will determine how I feel about it, but I think it is important to at least acknowledge the songs that may be doing well in the format that I do not like as much. Thank you for your comment! I am glad to know that you enjoy it :)

Sorry I am so late this week! I made the chart on time, but was just way too busy to get around to posting it here. So here is week 3! Week #3: Dated 11/15/15Your #1 song: This week sees Chris Young replacing Carrie at the top, despite Carrie continuing to make gains. (If this situation hits a little too close to home considering the current state of the Billboard airplay chart, I apologize. These two songs just happened to peak around the same time on my chart as they are in reality!) Blake continues to make no advances, and now Terri Clark is hot on his trail. Terri, along with Dan + Shay, Reba, Cam, and the Brothers Osborne, rocket past the free-falling Mickey Guyton as she almost falls out of the top 10. Meanwhile, Alan Jackson gets his very first top 10 hit on my chart with "Jim and Jack and Hank."
As "Fly", "Save It For A Rainy Day", and "Buy Me A Boat" all go recurrent, almost every song in the top 20 sees huge gains. Rainey Qualley sees some especially large boosts, as "Me And Johnny Cash" jumps clear over Don Henley and Martina despite that song's own massive 21-18 jump. Big & Rich's "Run Away With You" is the only song in the teens which continues to lose spins, but it still manages to climb one more spot to land at #15, where it will likely peak unless it can regain some momentum next week.
The massive gains continue into the top 30, allowing many people to cover some serious ground on the chart. George Strait notably leaps from #33 to #25, securing his first top 30 single on my chart and immediately setting his sights on the top 20 in the near future. Sam Hunt, Cole Swindell, Randy Houser, and Tim McGraw all achieve their first top 30 entries on my chart as well. The Band Perry see some losses, but still manage to climb 3 chart positions.
Craig Campbell, meanwhile, falls out of the top 30, allowing Thomas Rhett and Lauren Alaina to get really close to entering it. Florida Georgia Line also begin to fall. In the meantime, both Brad Paisley and Parmalee are able to reverse their losses and post some gains this week, but not without getting passed by Erica Nicole and Jamie O'Neal. Eric Church makes a splashy #35 debut with "Mr. Misunderstood," while Sara Evans and Isaac Slade enter the top 40 as well. Towards the bottom of the chart, both Jason Aldean and The Cadillac Three are struggling. Everyone else gains, however, and with the loss of so many songs in the upper regions of the chart, there was room at the bottom for Craig Morgan and Keith Urban to enter the chart with their new songs. Martina McBride also debuts with "Over The Rainbow", a stripped down recording she released in April that is beginning to get curiosity spins in anticipation of the first single from her new album (which is planned for release sometime in the Spring of 2016!). Falling Off:Luke Bryan - Strip It Down (Peak: 41 - Weeks On: 2) Chris Janson - Buy Me A Boat (Peak: 12 - Weeks On: 2) Save It For A Rainy Day - Kenny Chesney (Peak: 5 - Weeks On: 2) Fly - Maddie & Tae (Peak: 3 - Weeks On: 2) New Entries:Eric Church - "Mr. Misunderstood" (Debut: 35) Craig Morgan - "When I'm Gone" (Debut: 43) Keith Urban - "Break On Me" (Debut: 47) Martina McBride - "Over The Rainbow" (Debut: 49) . .indulgecountry, sabre14, someguy, Zeebz, bksouthga, gardyfan, bigfan101, trebor, jhomes87, 43dudleyvillas, Kanenrá:ke, tim, stonemc06, raylatch98, @dawson, M&TSwiftie, defying gravity, Sean, Daryl the Beryl, zack97

Week #4: Dated 11/22/15
Your #1 song:
In a fit of revenge to Sony for screwing Carrie out of another Billboard #1 with "Smoke Break", Carrie reclaims the top spot from label mate Chris Young. This makes her song the first multi-week #1 on my chart, as well as the first song to hit #1 in non-consecutive weeks. Chris Young begins to fall, but only barely. Meanwhile, Terri Clark blows past Blake Shelton, pushing him back to #4. Due to the general lack of songs leaving the top 10, the rest of the songs keep their places. Jana Kramer, however, hops Alan Jackson on her way into the top 10.
Thanks to Mickey Guyton and Big & Rich finally leaving, most of the songs in the top 20 make nice progress. The Band Perry come back to life this week, and Zac Brown Band leap Billy Currington to make a 3-spot jump. Sam Hunt and Chase Bryant surge into the top 25. Tim McGraw leaps Randy Houser and Cole Swindell. Meanwhile, Swindell finally begins to fall, but still manages to move up one more spot to peak at #27. Thomas Rhett and Lauren Alaina also enter the top 30.
Meanwhile, Erica Nicole and Jamie O'Neal make huge progress, jumping from #36 to #31, and jumping Eric Church in the process. Eric continues to make promising gains as well, as "Mr. Misunderstood" surges forward 3 positions. The disappearance of Craig Campbell helps the rest of the top 40 move ahead steadily. Parmalee just cannot seem to keep their bullet, and as they once again begin to struggle, Sara Evans goes flying past. Maddie & Tae are knocking on their door as well, as they fly past Lindsay Ell on their way to the top 40. Craig Morgan enters the top 40 as well, and Florida Georgia Line are just about to leave.
In the bottom parts of the chart, Joe Nichols leaps Toby Keith as they both prepare to fight for the top 40 next week. Jason Aldean regains his bullet somehow, and manages to get a new peak. Martina, meanwhile, makes minimal progress with her buzz single, but still manages to gain 2 positions. Little Big Town, Brantley Gilbert, Rascal Flatts, and Justin Moore all make their debuts.
The chart has been relatively soft the past few weeks, with lots of songs leaving and allowing lots of songs to debut, but it is starting to look as if the chart will get a lot harder soon...
Falling Off:
Mickey Guyton - "Better Than You Left Me" - Peak: 1 (1 week) - Weeks On: 3 Big & Rich - "Run Away With You" - Peak: 15 - Weeks On: 3 Craig Campbell - "Tomorrow Tonight" - Peak: 22 - Weeks On: 3 The Cadillac Three - "White Lightning" - Peak: 47 - Weeks On: 3 New Entries:
Little Big Town - "Pain Killer" - Debut: 46 Brantley Gilbert - "Stone Cold Sober" - Debut: 48 Rascal Flatts - "I Like The Sound Of That" - Debut: 49 Justin Moore - "You Look Like I Need A Drink" - Debut: 50 .indulgecountry, sabre14, someguy, Zeebz, bksouthga, gardyfan, bigfan101, trebor, jhomes87, 43dudleyvillas, Kanenrá:ke, tim, stonemc06, raylatch98, @dawson, M&TSwiftie, defying gravity, Sean, Daryl the Beryl, zack97

Sorry I'm late again!Week #5: Dated 11/29/15#1 Song:Terri Clark charges her way to the top this week, shoving her way past Carrie Underwood and Chris Young as they begin their descents. Meanwhile, Carrie does not fall quickly enough for Blake Shelton, who is held once again to his previous peak of #3. Everyone else in the top 10 is held at a standstill, as the chart hardens up and hinders the ascension of many songs. There is minor excitement in the teens, however, as LoCash enter a 3-legged race against Don and Martina. Don accidentally tripped over Martina (she was simply too small for him to see), allowing LoCash to emerge victorious and send "That Old Flame" back one spot. And something similar happened a few places back, where the solo artists were having a potato sack race. Lee Brice got distracted at the hilarious image of Don Henley apparently tripping over thin air, which caused him to run into a tree, allowing Zac Brown Band to sneak past. Tim McGraw meanwhile made a huge standing long jump into the top 25, edging past Billy Currington as he fell and Chase Bryant as he stood in place wondering which way to hop. In the 30s, Cole Swindell begins to plummet, while Brad Paisley somehow manages to make progress yet still lose major ground to Sara Evans. Joe Nichols enters the top 40, while Parmalee almost fall out, and Jo Dee Messina hangs on the cusp with Toby Keith. Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood makes a splashy top-45 debut with her new single, "Heartbeat", and all of last week's debuts move forward, pushing Jason Aldean back to #50. Aldean apparently wants to try and set a record for the most negative progress made by a song without actually losing its bullet... Falling Off:

Awesome to see Terri Clark at #1! :) Poor Jason Aldean falling down to the last spot, though! ;)

Yay Terri is #1!!!!
Such a shame she wasn't still signed to a us label I think it could've done something good with a decent label. Then again even Canadian radio ignored it.
