Heard this on my station kicks 101.5 today and man I love this! Glad it's off to a good start hopefully it can keep up the pace! It kind of reminds me of stay but I love this and stay equally. Hoping for it to be a big hit!

According to Scott Borchetta on twitter, the video is being finalized and stating "OMG. What an amazing video". I'm hoping that means it'll be out in the next few weeks.
Also someone asked me why there is such a difference on the charts for the song - BB is at 34 while MB is 39? The only thing I could think is the amount of panels/stations. Is there any other reason? I'm not concerned I was just asked and wasn't sure of how to explain it to someone who isn't into charts really.

I don't understand all the reasoning behind it, but usually Mediabase just takes a little bit longer for songs to pick up the pace than Billboard because of the differences in their calculation systems. They will even out soon :) Edit: Lol of course my response will do absolutely nothing to help you explain to anyone why the song is behind on Mediabase... Hahaha I just know that that is the norm for early in the chart run!

I'm not concerned I was just asked and wasn't sure of how to explain it to someone who isn't into charts really. Billboard ranks the songs by total audience, and Mediabase ranks by a points system. The reason "Unlove You" is higher on Billboard is simply because it has moved to the front of a closely-grouped pack of songs (in terms of total audience), but it trails most of the same songs (Chris Janson's "Power Of Positive Drinkin'", Big & Rich's "Lovin' Lately", Eric Paslay's "High Class", Easton Corbin's "Yup", and Dylan Scott's "Crazy Over Me") on Mediabase because it has a slightly lower number of total spins and points. And even though Jen is at #34 on Billboard, I must point out that the #41 song, William Michael Morgan's "I Met A Girl", is less than 300k behind. Jennifer and William might be 7 chart positions apart from each other, but 300k is such a small amount of audience which means that all the songs in the 34-41 on tonight's BB chart are pretty much neck and neck with each other -- Jennifer just happens to be a nose ahead of the others. To put it another way, "Unlove You" is averaging slightly more audience per spin than those other songs are, which results in a higher Billboard ranking but doesn't really affect her Mediabase points total. I'd expect things to even out (between the two charts) over the next few weeks.

Thanks jhomes87 & bboat11! That makes sense. I tried to explain it in basic terms and was drawing blanks on how to do it. I also made a point to reassure them it is a normal thing and will even out in a week or two. They were so concerned about it though? Like I said, I'm not. I've watched the charts enough to know it always evens out, for the most part, and there will always have one chart that is a few spots higher or lower than the other at time. It's just how it works.

According to a few people who were at VIP Q & A yesterday at the LA show, Jennifer said the album has been pushed from April 8th to early May. I'm not too surprised mainly because she just went in this weekend while in LA to record some more. She had stated prior to this that she was done last fall but because she still had time that she might try to "sneak one past the goalie" and best what she had already recorded with some new material she was writing, I assume with Brandy on tour. Dann Huff was there so he's still producing the new tracks from the looks of some pictures that someone working on it posted. Like I said I'm not too surprised but so ready for this new album after hearing the new stuff on youtube and whatnot. At least it gives the song more time to grow though the 8th would have been perfect due to having a good promotional base from the ACM's.

This unfortunately was pretty flat at radio this week, and got pushed back 34-39* (exactly the reverse of the move it made last week). Hopefully this coming week is better.

Jenn's song only would've fallen to #37 if she gained another 42k in audience. This one's still only seven weeks old so the fall back is unfortunate but this is where the grind happens for "Unlove You's" chart run.

Yeah, I'm still surprised it got as high as it did so quickly. I do believe this is going top 20 or better, but it will likely be a long haul.

This is another killer tune from a lady whom I have adored since the first time 'Baby Girl' hit my eardrums; add to that the 45-60 seconds of impeccable singing combined with masterful production on 'Settlin', and it's pretty clear that she's still 'got it'.
In a rational country radio this would rise steadily to #1 in four months, but given the absence of sensible programming in today's country radio universe, I'm not holding my breath.
Jenifer is a superb singer period and a standout torch singer, and once upon a time ladies such as Loretta, Barbara, Patty, Patsy and Reba would have easily reached #1 with an exceptional song like this.
Those days are sadly long gone in an era where age and chromosomes trumps merit and musicianship not to mention imagination and originality in songwriting skills.

Jennifer will be on CMT Crossroads on March 24th with Cheap Trick. Maybe I'm too optimistic that this will help the song along with the video coming out soon? It might cause a little spike in sales but it won't help the song become a hit. A music video always helps but again, that's not enough to make a song a radio hit. "Unlove You's" start is still great, despite the five spot drop back to #39 on Billboard this week. It's only seven weeks old and I'm sure Big Machine will do the utmost with this single. I also think the album release being delayed by a month will help coincide more with this song's peak, assuming it can become a moderate hit. It's still too early to assume where this one will exactly end up.

Just enough to get some more attention from radio, just enough to give it a little bump to get over the cluster of songs in front of her right now that seem to just be flip flopping with each other for the most part. To me it feels like once it gets past that and moves up into the upper 30's - lower 20's that things will hopefully be a lot smoother. It a slow burner to me and I know it's a matter of waiting for it to light up more than it has. It has the potential to me to become a big song if radio lets it. I have no doubt that Big Machine will continue to push it due to the fact the team she has around her there is constantly out on the road and arranging visits with radio stations for interviews and what not. Plus Scott seems to be behind her 100% when asked about her.

But I am so so so glad this song is doing well on the charts. It took me 2 or 3 listens to love this song, but now, it's probably my favorite on radio. I was worried that because it doesn't seem like an instant hit, that it may struggle, but maybe that is what will make it standout. I have been playing this non stop tonight. Also, can someone explain to me what this part of the song means? If I were 25 I know just what I'd do I would have already kissed Till I was drunk on your lips A thousand times too few

Also, can someone explain to me what this part of the song means? If I were 25 I know just what I'd do I would have already kissed Till I was drunk on your lips A thousand times too few The song itself is supposed to be about a relationship the narrator knows she shouldn't be in and should end/walk away from but doesn't fully want to let go of. It could be a dead end relationship, an affair, unhealthy relationship or something else. I think Jen mentioned the affair and unhealthy relationship as the explanation. But the part you asked about? To me the narrator is older and in a place where she should know better than to be with the person she wants to be with. So it's saying more or less that if she were 25 that she would just kiss, be involved and fall in love this person without knowing any better like she does in the present state where she's narrating from now. Hopefully that makes sense! Like I said that's how I take it, I could be wrong.

THIS makes the song ONE BILLION times better. Trey really brought a new life to the song. The video goes beyond the conventional "leave your heart at the bar" theme. The special effects are perfect and make the story just so powerful. Jennifer looks beautiful, too.

Beautiful video treatment amazingly done! I now have no doubt this will be a bigger hit than "that girl" and will probably be a no.1. Hopefully radio picks backs up on this beautiful ballad soon, I hope she gets an ACM performance for this . The sales have picked back up btw.

The music video for this is just absolutely stunning. Everything about it was just beautifully done. I couldn't love it more. I agree with someguy about the ring falling off. That moment really stood out to me too.

sabre14 Thank you for posting that. I meant to come back and post it but forgot about it until today.
A few more videos, not for the single but still are impactful of Jennifer and her talent. Hopefully it's okay to put them in here. I'll just say back around the time Incredible Machine was coming out or they were working on it I remember Kristian saying people didn't understand Jen's vocal ability. The reason he said that was because she didn't show everything she could possibly do with her voice, she held back and revealed little by little on each album just what she was capable of doing. I was told someone yesterday it feels like this past year especially she is showing everyone just what she's capable of with her voice. I Want You to Want Me (Crossroads)Bohemian Rhapsody (CMT Next Women of Country Tour)

Jennifer will be co-hosting The Talk on Friday. Hopefully there will be a performance spot of some sort with it. I'm not really sure since Mickey Guyton is scheduled to be on the show as well.
It looks like the song has made a little jump up to #35 mb. It feels like it's finally getting it's legs to me after what felt like a month stuck between 38-40. Hopefully it'll continue to grow over the next month or so before album release

Very nice update today. Hopefully this one can be in it for the long haul and make it to at least the top 15, and all the big name releases don't knock it out prematurely. This song is doing really well for a ballad by an older woman and it deserves to be a big hit.

"Unlove You" has gained 213 spins and about 870k in audience this week. The sales aren't exactly great (Jennifer is in the 300s on iTunes), not bad considering where it's at but could be a little better.
I have Jennifer Nettles landing at #35 on BB tomorrow as she would get a +3 from the 3 recurrents this week (Carrie, ZBB and Chris Janson) she is also looking very likely to re-pass Drake White which would have made it a +4 and Jennifer would've landed at #33 but the double shot debuts of Keith Urban and Jason Aldean is going to reduce Jennifer back to a +2, but there is some room for optimism with "Unlove You".

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that this song is picking up after being stuck between 37-39. I know I said that before but it's true. I won't lie I was a little doubtful for a few week when it was getting stuck the lower 30's. I felt like it was a redo of That Girl where it got to that point and was stuck in it for a few months it seems. But it's looking good now that it got over that bump in the lower 30's. It'd be great if the climb continued and I would love to see this is the top 30 (mid-lower 20's, maybe) before album release in May.
Jennifer was asked yesterday during ACM Radio remotes why she is in LA working with Jennifer Lopez. She said her and JLo wrote a song together and recorded it. In another interview she was asked if there would be any big collaborations on the album and she said she was trying to sneak one in before the album release. So there is a good chance, I think, that the Jennifer Lopez collaboration will be on Playing with Fire. From what she said in previous interviews she turned the album in last month and sequenced it a few weeks ago. So it'll be interesting to see what is bumped from the possible tracklisting I posted in the album post or if they'll add a 12th track since press releases all say 11 tracks.
Jennifer and Scott played five songs from the album yesterday at a brunch in Vegas. Unlove You, Drunk in Heels, Chaser, Hello Heartbreak and Way Back Home were the ones played. Hello Heartbreak, according to Nashville Becca, is sassy, upbeat and would sound great on the radio. Drunk in Heels seemed to get several of tweets from those in attendance and the response seemed really positive. I saw several tweets and instagram posts saying it's her best sound and album of her career (solo or Sugarland).
