Sorry is still too far behind Hello in points (This week the lead was over 35%). So there is no question of overtaking it for the next 5 weeks at least. By that time Sorry will also start declining in Airplay and it would be very difficult to get #1. If Sorry's official video is released and pulls an Anaconda, then he can get #1 next week I thought there was already a video out. There is one on Youtube with 273 million views.

Uptown Funk has officially left the Hot 100. Finally, but even though I dont like that song much anymore, it should still be on the chart, but NO! We just have to have that new recurrent rule. I want to see how long Trap Queen and Watch Me could last without it

To be honest I'm sad that Uptown Funk is out.. I really would've wanted to see how long it could've stayed..

^I sure am happy! Fewer old songs gunking up the chart, preventing new tracks from getting the exposure and attention they deserve.

But I wish they had waited to implement it after SUAD, TOL, and UF had all exited the chart. Now we'll never know if any of them could have broken records.

The real question is will AIWFCIY eventually beat Radioactive's record in a few decades? Or will it go out of style? Oh wait... the new rule exists! So I guess that prevents it.

sorry for being late, what's the new recurrent rules? Songs that have spent 52+ weeks on the chart are removed if they fall below #25.

sorry for being late, what's the new recurrent rules? Songs that have spent 52+ weeks on the chart are removed if they fall below #25. so now we have 2 category of recurrent: 1. Songs that have spent 52+ weeks on the chart and fall bellow #25 2. Songs that have spent 20+ weeks on the chart and fall bellow #50

I'm assuming it would work like the other rule. If the song gets to 52 weeks (which it will take a while to get there, it's only at 11 weeks) and is removed, I'm assuming it would be eligible to re-enter the top 25 if it had enough to points to get there just like 20-51 weekers being able to re-enter the top 50.

Note that AIWFCIY only has 11 weeks on the chart total even with reappearing in recent years. Even if it charted for 4 weeks every year it would take another decade before the new recurrent rule would have any impact. And that's assuming there are no other major changes in chart rules, listening habits, or popularity of the song in that time frame.

It would never have any impact regardless of how many years it charts. Those rules exist ONLY for single chart runs.

By then the rules will be "if you don't debut at #1, you lose half your chart points."

I was under the impression that older, holiday songs like AIWFCIY were only eligible to re-enter if they have enough points to make the top 50, even if they have less than 20 weeks, but maybe I'm wrong.
It seems a little futile trying to guess how many more weeks UF would have lasted, just like trying to guess how long any song would have lasted if there were no recurrent rules at all.
