I wish Kacey was performing not presenting... It could boost the album a bit. Without radio play it would be the next best thing to promote the album in some way =( I agree, but they didn't even nominate her album at the ACMs, so I'm not surprised at all. Heck, in 2014, when Kacey was a multiple nominee and the Album of the Year winner at the ACMs, the producers couldn't be arsed to offer her anything more than a shortened performance slot, which she justifiably declined. So yes, it's not remotely surprising that she wasn't offered a performance slot at this year's ACMs. It doesn't make the producers' treatment of her any less disappointing, though.

The ACM for Video of the Year was presented today to Eric Church and John Peets for "Mr. Misunderstood."

Interesting. I'd been thinking that LBT would debut a new song, but now I'm less sure. After all, the ACM already announced that Jason Aldean would be debuting a new single, and the same goes for Keith Urban (Wasted Time), Kenny Chesney (Noise), and Charles Kelley (Lonely Girl), among others. I'm not sure what LBT will perform now. It could be anything. I'm assuming the performance lineup is final now. Here's what we have: • Jason Aldean – “Lights Come On” (confirmed by multiple sources) • Dierks Bentley – “Somewhere On A Beach” (confirmed by Wrangler Network) • Luke Bryan – “Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every Day” (according to Taste of Country, Luke will open the show with this one) • Cam – “Burning House” (confirmed via RCA Records press release) • Kenny Chesney – “Noise” (confirmed via the Las Vegas Review Journal; Chesney will perform early in the show so that he can headline the final night of Party for a Cause later in the evening) • Eric Church – “Record Year” (can't find confirmation, but I'd be surprised if it was anything else) • Brett Eldredge – “Drunk On Your Love” (confirmed via rehearsal performance) • Sam Hunt – probably either "Break Up In A Small Town" or "Make You Miss Me" (couldn't find confirmation, aside from the fact that Hunt was announced as a performer) • Charles Kelley – “Lonely Girl” (confirmed by Music Row) • Tim McGraw – “Humble and Kind” (confirmed by multiple sources) • Thomas Rhett – “Die A Happy Man” (confirmed via ABC News) • Blake Shelton – “Came Here To Forget” (can't find confirmation, but I'd be extremely surprised if it was anything else) • Chris Stapleton – performance details have been kept under wraps...most artists usually perform their current hit but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Stapleton does something else. The telecast will show a video of Stapleton visiting his hometown, so I wonder if he'll perform "Traveller"? • Cole Swindell – “You Should Be Here” (confirmed via ABC News) • Carrie Underwood – “Church Bells” (confirmed by multiple sources) • Keith Urban – “Wasted Time” (confirmed by multiple sources) • Florida Georgia Line – they sang "Confession" at the CMA's last fall, and I suppose they could do it again here, but a new single is definitely possible as well, if not likely. • Old Dominion – “Snapback” (confirmed via rehearsal performance) • Kelsea Ballerini with Nick Jonas – “Peter Pan” (confirmed by multiple sources) • Miranda Lambert with Billy Gibbons and Keith Urban – ZZ Top’s “Tush” (confirmed via ACM website press release) • Dolly Parton and Katy Perry – “Jolene” (confirmed by multiple sources) • Chris Young with Cassadee Pope – “Think Of You” (confirmed by multiple sources) • Little Big Town featuring Trombone Shorty - a jazz rendition of "Girl Crush"? I honestly don't know. Despite all the nominations for "Girl Crush", I have a hard time imagining LBT performing that one yet again..

I'm really going to be mad if Little Big Town does Girl Crush again. I'm just so sick of the song being performed again and again. I'm really hoping they have a new song cause if they perform "Girl Crush" again that'll mean they'll perform the same song two years in a row at the same award show.

Is the ACM Women of Country special going to be televised? I know I've asked before but I haven't seen it said anywhere that it will be.

Here are my last minute predictions for who will win (and imo should)
Entertainer of the Year • Eric Church • Garth Brooks (Should Win) • Jason Aldean • Luke Bryan (Should/Will Win) • Miranda Lambert
I guess it depends on how you consider this award (whether it's an 'Artist of the Year' type award, or strictly for touring. If it was strictly the touring, I would say Garth should win. If it's an overall artist of the year award, then Garth doesn't have the radio/singles success that any of the nominees do, and especially Luke. That's all really a non-issue though, since I'd be shocked if Luke didn't win.
Male Vocalist of the Year • Brett Eldredge • Chris Stapleton (Will Win) • Dierks Bentley • Eric Church (Should Win) • Jason Aldean
I'm still surprised that Luke Bryan isn't nominated. Out of who is, I think Eric is the most deserving this year, but I can't see the ACMs not wanting to reward Chris Stapleton for his year.
Female Vocalist of the Year • Carrie Underwood (Should Win) • Jana Kramer • Kacey Musgraves • Kelsea Ballerini (Will Win) • Miranda Lambert
I think Carrie is most deserving this year, but the ACMs tend to go for new blood, and Kelsea Ballerini had probably the best 'new female' year since Carrie herself a decade ago. I could be wrong, but this is a category that the ACM have gone out on a limb on in the past, and I wonder if that might happen again this year. You can never count Miranda out, but this was easily her quietest year in a long time.
Vocal Duo of the Year • Brothers Osborne • Dan + Shay • Florida Georgia Line (Will Win) • Joey + Rory • Maddie & Tae (Should Win)
Anything I say is tainted because FGL already won. I would have loved Maddie & Tae to take it instead, but anything other than FGL was a very long shot.
Vocal Group of the Year • Eli Young Band • Little Big Town (Will Win) • Old Dominion • Rascal Flatts • Zac Brown Band (Should Win)
Five years ago I never thought I'd say this, but I think Little Big Town are crossing over into the 'over awarded' category. I think they will probably get one more win here, due to the massive success of "Girl Crush", but I think that the Zac Brown Band have had a stronger year, and deserve to win instead.
New Male Vocalist of the Year • Brett Eldredge • Chase Rice • Chris Janson • Chris Stapleton (Should Win and Will Win) • Thomas Rhett
I don't see this even being a race, but I guess Thomas Rhett (or even Brett Eldredge) could pull off an upset
New Female Vocalist of the Year • Cam (Should Win) • Kelsea Ballerini (Will Win) • Mickey Guyton • RaeLynn
I have to say - I'm not a Kelsea Ballerini fan by any stretch of the imagination. But, she did have a fantastic year, and is nominated for Female Vocalist, while no one else in this category is. I much prefer Cam, and "Burning House" was huge and could help her pull off an upset here, but I don't see how Kelsea doesn't win.
New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year • A Thousand Horses • Brothers Osborne • Maddie & Tae (Should Win and Will Win) • Old Dominion • Parmalee
I think a case could be made for Old Dominion, but Maddie & Tae should have this. Their momentum has waned in the last little bit, but they have the biggest hit (by far) out of all the nominees, and they are the most different too, so I could see some of the others splitting the vote a bit.
Album of the Year • I'm Comin' Over - Chris Young • Montevallo - Sam Hunt (Should Win) • Mr. Misunderstood - Eric Church • Tangled Up - Thomas Rhett • Traveller - Chris Stapleton (Will Win)
The only album here I haven't heard is I'm Comin' Over, so I can't speak too accurately about that, but I have three of the others (Chris, Eric and Sam), and I borrowed Thomas's from the library (lol), so I have heard that too. I really like Sam, Eric and Chris's albums (and can think of at least 15 from the last year I would have nominated over Thomas's). My personal preference is Montevallo (by far), but I don't see how Travller doesn't take this.
Single Record of the Year • "Burning House" - Cam (Should Win) • "Buy Me A Boat" - Chris Janson • "Die A Happy Man" - Thomas Rhett • "Girl Crush" - Little Big Town (Will Win) • "I'm Comin' Over" - Chris Young • "Take Your Time" - Sam Hunt
All of these songs were huge, but I think "Girl Crush" has it. I was torn between saying whether I think "Burning House" or "Take Your Time" should win, but it doesn't matter since LBT seem to be unstoppable with this song.
Ideally, the ACM's would crown different winners in the Single and Song categories, but I think "Girl Crush" will win both. I can't really object because it was certainly a huge hit, but I'd like to see "Burning House" win Single and "Girl Crush" win Song.
Song of the Year • "Burning House" - Cam | Writers: Cam, Jeff Bhasker, and Tyler Johnson • "Girl Crush" - Little Big Town | Writers: Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey, and Liz Rose (Should Win and Will Win) • "Nobody To Blame" - Chris Stapleton | Writers: Chris Stapleton, Barry Bales, and Ronnie Bowman • "Raise 'Em Up" - Keith Urban featuring Eric Church | Writers: Tom Douglas, Jaren Johnston, and Jeffrey Steele • "She Don't Love You" - Eric Paslay | Writers: Eric Paslay and Jennifer Wayne
These are all good songs, but I think this comes down to "Burning House" and "Girl Crush". Ideally I'd like to see "Burning House" win because I think LBT will get four awards and Cam will be shut out, but it is what it is.
Vocal Event of the Year • "Hangover Tonight" - Gary Allan featuring Chris Stapleton • "Home Alone Tonight" - Luke Bryan featuring Karen Fairchild • "Raise 'Em Up" - Keith Urban featuring Eric Church • "Smokin' and Drinkin'" - Miranda Lambert featuring Little Big Town (Should Win and Will Win) • "Wild Child" - Kenny Chesney featuring Grace Potter
I'm tempted to say "Raise 'Em Up", because of its Song nomination, and it'd be a nice way to reward Keith and Eric (but of whom I think will be shut out), but this could also be the only chance to award Miranda as well (and LBT are award show darlings). It's really between those two songs though.
But, Eric won video already (surprisingly to me), so he got his award. I think this will go to Miranda.
Video of the Year • "Biscuits" - Kacey Musgraves (Should Win/Will Win) • "Burning House" - Cam • "Girl Crush" - Little Big Town • "Mr. Misunderstood" - Eric Church • "Riser" - Dierks Bentley
This us what I would have said - "Mr. Misunderstood" won though, which surprises me.

A lot of publications are predicting Carrie to win Female... Which surprises me. I don't think it'll happen, but it's nice to see she's most people's pick.

Final ACM PREDICTIONS Entertainer Should win:Eric Will win:Luke or Eric Male Should win:Dierks/Chris Will win: Dierks or Chris Stapleton Dierks has been so overdue it's ridiculous. Then Chris Stapleton released one of my fav albums this year. It's between those two to win this. Female Should win:Carrie Will win:Carrie I know it's not likely but Carrie is due to get this award back now. It's been almost 7-8 years since her last win. Group Will/should win:LBT Album Should win: traveller or mr. Misunderstood Will win: traveller Single Should win:Burning house Will win: Girl Crush Song Will/should win: Girl Crush Vocal Event Will/Should win: Raise Em Up

According to rehearsals, Florida Georgia Line is performing "Confession" and not "Holy." I guess they might wait a few days at least, before releasing the new single.

Maybe they've decided to hold off for a little bit due to all of the big name singles coming out in the last couple of weeks (Kenny, Jason, Keith). That wouldn't be a bad idea, as there is only so much airplay to go around. I wonder if this means they'll give "Confession" a push for the next couple of weeks. I wouldn't mind that at all, as it's easily one of my favourites of theirs.

"Confession" still has a shot of hitting the top since I imagine Cole Swindell and Rascal Flatts will be out of the way by then (FGL hosting CCUSA also helps since I imagine the week they host will be the week Big Machine pushes "Confession" to #1 with Rascal Flatts maybe being an obstacle).

However, telling radio stations that a new lead single is coming at ACM's (which they have been reportedly doing), only to back out at last second (delaying the single for a couple weeks, in your scenario) is a perfect way to make programmers angry. I get why they would feel the need to hold off, just like I get the need to launch a single at the ACM's (for sales and hype boost) but sometimes you just have to hope for the best and not worry about other labels doing the same thing.

FGL has been teasing new music for a while now but I doubt that any PD's will be upset that they're not getting it next week. They've got their hands full with a ton of high-profile new releases and I bet anything that the folks over at BMLG have been saying "hey, we do have a new song coming soon, but we're gonna stick with 'Confession' for a couple more weeks yet."
When they didn't announce that they were performing a new song, I kinda figured that they would stick with "Confession" up until they co-host CC-USA on April 16/17. Initially I was thinking that they probably booked that in advance and would stop promoting "Confession" come ACM time, but now it makes sense for them to stick with "Confession" for another 2 weeks.

How did "Smokin' and Drinkin'" win Vocal Event of the Year? I'm guessing they had to reward Miranda someway and I'm guessing Carrie will win Female Vocalist. Maybe I'm wrong...

More importantly why wasn't "Diamond Rings & Old Barstools" not even get the nomination. Do the award shows have something against Tim McGraw.

Well the opening is awful. Also Old Dominion performance was awful and officially makes me feel like they are the worst. Eh, Kenny Chesney performance is at least decent. Also, the more I hear Blake Shelton's new song the more I grow to hate him more and more.

I'm genuinely surprised about "Nobody To Blame". "Girl Crush" does feel about five years old at this point, so I'm wondering if that's part of it.

I'm genuinely surprised that "Girl Crush" lost. I'm not complaining as I never want to hear it again.
Also am I the only one who is finding that this Chris Young & Cassadee Pope performance to be absolutely awful. They sound horrendous live,
