The fact she keeps referring it to as the best of her career is what makes me gag a little.

Take your time Ci and crank out those crunk jams. I want a hot R&B banger as the first single!

If you would've skimmed the thread instead of flying in here to post something negative about her, looking like an imbecile; you could've saved yourself the time & embarressment.

Unless you have seen him say something I've missed, George is seriously one of the LEAST negative posters on Pulse, period. I've never known him to say a cross word about or to anyone. Yes, a quick glance at the page before would have revealed that we already heard the news, but why the unnecessary clapback?

I stand corrected than, too many people unneccesarily kick her while she is down, figured that was the case again here. I'm only familiar with a few posters here.

Thanks antigonerising, antiWave and Shooter for the kind words, you guys are sweet.
tazzman, I somehow missed Becky's post from the previous page, so my bad on the old news posting. I missed Ciara's earlier legs of her "Jackie" tour so I was really looking forward to getting another chance.
I'm glad Ciara's working on a new album. My only hope is that while she tends to deliver really solid efforts, I keep wishing we'd get an era that would last long like her first album again.

It's official she's no longer on Epic. They updated their artist roster and her picture been removed.

Look no further than Kesha for example of that. There are contractual obligations in place and she would have signed a 4 album deal at minimum with Epic. Do I believe in a mutual interest of both parties to terminate contract? Absolutely, and which may be the case in this situation. In which case you are dropped, but desired to be anyway. Do I get why she wanted to leave Epic after she's claimed to create her best bodies of work under their resources? No. Her biggest issue has always been her management. Epic was probably as good as it can get for her in terms of label resources and investment pertaining to her releases.

She's most likely just saving face. I think she wanted to leave mainly because of Future, and because Epic acted like they were allergic to promoting her. They couldn't even send her singles to the correct radio formats. Trash label.

Epic was probably as good as it can get for her in terms of label resources and investment pertaining to her releases. . The guy said himself she decided to leave on her own, ill take his word. Epic records is one of the lowest record companies of all time, along with RCA. I understand why she wanted to leave (I don't get why Tamar Braxton didn't leave with her!) Epic records didn't even try to promote DLWML, and tried to replace it as the second single with GML after its release already bit failed to deliver with both. Ciara kept saying how she wanted to shoot all these videos, go on a bigger tour, releases multiple, etc. because she thought this was her biggest album. It could've been big at pop with DLWML, GML & Only One but was never heard of again after July. LA Reid said he wanted to make Tamar's last album big but she had her talk show, DWTS, and unexpectedly got sick in the midst of her tour, basically he didn't have time. What's his excuse with Ciara? She had plenty of time after her tour to promote her next single and album, where was his support? Tho there are a lot of factors in why Ciara has had a big album again (tho CIARA was damn close), lable has always been a major issues.

They couldn't even send her singles to the correct radio formats. Trash label. I mean, like she would ever be in the same room with Future ever. I bet half the artists on Epic's roster haven't even met/heard of each other. I'd hope that's not her driving force. I agree they've fucked up on some songs they sent/where they sent them, but nobody can deny that Epic provided ample budget and opportunity to "make it happen". I will not get on the "Epic wronged her" train, because I think they spent and tried harder for her than anyone else in the industry would. Their 4th attempt to launch the first record, Body Party got her an Urban #1 and it still wasn't enough to garner public interest in the album beyond the first week. It's also her managements job to secure those big promotional spots and play the bigger role in her promotion, it's not on the shoulders of Epic, which is a resource underdog in the game on major labels. No shade no shade **in Nicki Minaj voice from the BET's** because I love her music, but I'm being real from a business investment standpoint that a Epic was probably as good as it was going to get at this point.

I don't think labels right now really see it that way....surely her being the only female r&b artist to have a platinum certified single in 2015 didn't have Epic ushering her out the door...especially when they're urban female department is nonexistent outside of her and Tamar and Tamar had spoken subliminally about leaving as well and has thrown shade often at Epic. And it definitely is a conflict of interst to have that much baggage in one building. Obviously she's cleaning house and Epic had to be apart of that. Maybe she felt they didn't do enough to rectify the situation during his DS2 promo run. Future has been making profit over at Epic, of course they aren't going to go against him. If you noticed she stopped working with the publicist at Epic Courtney Lowery who was also Futures publicist and instead decided to go out of house and stick with The Chamber Group. Ci isn't like an old 30, she's still clearly visible artist wise if she's handled correctly. It has to click on multiple cylinders, including her knowing that the song she's saying is next is not the song listed on all access by her label. There are just some things that you as an artist have to be held accountable for as well. But my source at Epic no longer works there but I'm about 99% sure that she's already signed elsewhere under an umbrella opposite of Sony.

Absolutely, and which may be the case in this situation. In which case you are dropped, but desired to be anyway. Do we actually know this is true? Epic 'inherited' her after Jive was folded so more likely, they just got whatever was left in her deal. She has six studio albums and two collections, so it's possible that her deal was either done or just one studio album short of being done (I think I recall seeing LA was releasing her one album early but am not certain on that). If the latter, I would say her good relationship with LA is the reason she was able to walk away, because he respected and cared enough for her to recognize Epic is not the best place for her. She actually wanted out of Jive at one point, and Jive wouldn't cut her loose. That is a good example of an artist being stuck with contractual obligations...but once a contract is over, even a low-selling act can honestly say that he or she chose not to return to that label; the label can't force them to re-up. But to clarify, I don't know myself either how many albums she had left. I just wouldn't assume she had to sign a new deal to get on at Epic. Also, Ciara doesn't have to be in the same room as Future to feel there may be a conflict of interest there. tamed09 touched on this, but the publicity aspect alone is enough reason to head out if the label's in-house PR is also your ex' publicist. That is just not going to work in the long run, or ever. This is another reason I think LA likes Ciara, because a less concerned label head would have been like 'well, you still owe us an album so just suck it up a little while longer.' As for Reid himself, he is great at discovering and initially developing new talent; but from the outside looking in, he seems to be pretty garbage at nurturing it once it is established. For some acts that's okay because they end up becoming self-sustaining, but others need a more hands-on approach.

LA only TRULY supports artists he either thinks are hitmakers (see: Meghan Trainor) or are extremely artistic (see: Kanye). Ciara is currently neither, though, truth be told, she has never been artistic, so I am not surprised.
