That's the problem, she needs a label that can keep the momentum going. Push single #2 and #3.

Yeah, Ciara does not seem cut out for the indie grind but maybe she'll surprise everyone. It must be the industry's best kept secret why no one can properly manage her career.

Good question. It's like she got on Beyonce's naughty list a la MisKeri'd Baby.

My summer this year has bee Ciara. I fucking love her. I loved Jackie and Ciara. Amazing albums. I've been into her life by listening her songs and reading some shit. What an asshole it's Future for leaving this beautiful Girl. I cry listening to "I Got You", I saw a YT video where she cries singing it, it touched my soul. Hope she can get a label where she can do good.
I need to stan for her, i will :'(

Who did she piss off between Like A Boy & the Fantasy Ride era? If rumors are to be believed the question might be who didn't she piss off. But I suspect she didn't mean to play anyone but was given some ill-fated advice which led to her burning more bridges than she could build. And LA had left for Def Jam by then so the one person she would have continued to have in her corner was not there to keep her from falling through. (I actually once had a crazy conspiracy theory that it was Rihanna, not Bey, that ordered the takedown of Ciara, but we won't entertain those flights of fancy today ) I'm a bit antsy about her going the indie route but I've also been dying for her to ditch Epic (for that matter, Sony as a whole) because it was pretty clear it was never going to do better for her (and also, being on the same label as Future was a probable conflict of interest that she was guaranteed to lose). The real issue for me is that she makes a lot of pop bait but then Jive/Epic would not send any of her songs for pop adds...then everyone would yell that she needed to make music her 'fans' would be interested in hearing, even though the numbers showed that those 'fans' were either not large in number or simply not supporting her music much either way. So I feel like for her to get what she really wanted - another opportunity to break into the pop market again - she really needed to try to sell herself to another major label that would support her interests. Not sure if she tried to do that and didn't garner the interest she wanted, or if she's just looking at the numbers and thinking she's better off just doing it on her own. Maybe a combination of both.

Baby, if yall are fans of ciara then yall know she isnt going the indie route. That primary wave company isnt a indie label but a management company which may assist in her career moving foward(Nothing has been confirmed but she randomly pops up on their page this past weekend) so official news should be coming out soon. I think this is a blessing in disguise, i hope she does what tina turner did in the early 80's.

One good thing she has going for her right now is her profile is still pretty good. I see her at a decent amount of award shows, in magazines, on entertainment shows, etc.

I see her at a decent amount of award shows, in magazines, on entertainment shows, etc. She really just needs a promo push and a strong song and she'll have a hit, she's most likely weakest on radio plays. I Bet & Dance Like We're Making Love both had a lot of potential to be very big.

I don't know what happened but I remember there being some good hype behind her when "Jackie' was released. Then DEAD. Radio has been good to her 1st singles but doesn't seem to want to touch her 2nd ones.
I always thought Ciara's bread and butter was her dancing skills while performing. I thought she was more known for her club jams with some midtempos sprinkled in. Now she only gets play from her ballads and some midtemos and she can't really show of her best performing skills that way. She's in a strange place right now career wise.

Lisa did a great job during the Jackie era as her manager, she clocked IN. The only thing is I feel Ciara has too many yes people around her. I don't like the whole disconnected thing but I do feel that people nowadays buy into artist and I don't think people know what they want from her which in return makes her confused as to what to sell them. Always highlight your strengths as an artist and she will be fine.

That's why now it is up to her to create a clear vision and sell it to people, don' t let them decide or figure out shit. Shi is the artist! Sell it and make them believe, you control it. Don' let indicisive ass people control your career, she the artist led your flock. Or she will be musically limbo forever letting us dictate her.

Yeah, something about her team isn't as effective.
I'm not sure why they'd create these awesome R&B remixes in the past for her singles like "Gimmie Dat" or "I Bet" and not push those at the time.

After following music for so long, there are some certain artists I'm always excited for an album cycle to follow chart performances and promotion and create my little "singles lists" and then there are other artists where I've learned it's just not gonna happen so I just look forward to the music and that's it. That's the only thing I want and/or expect from Ciara at this point- just give me hot music like you always do. IDC if it's in album form, single form, mixtape form, random Youtube-dropped songs, just send it my way honey.

She needs to abandon pop. Nothing about her is pop. When she slays those crunk mid tempos, I'm all about her.
She just needs some fresh production - half of what she releases is dated within a year.

It's always interesting to hear what Ci feels is "her best" I'd love another Mike Will Made It song, or at least have the album lean Urban and less wannabe-blk-britney. Thank god Dr.Luke probably won't be apart of this album.

It doesn't make sense to continue on with the Jackie tour tbh. Serve us those new bops and then announce the new tour.
