radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/95941/iheart-planning-seattletacoma-changes/Kube 93.3 becomes Power 93.3, a shift from rhythmic to CHR in order to compete with 92.5 Movin and moved to 104.9, which was once The Brew, a rock station and is basically demoted to a Tacoma-focused signal. 106.1 Kiss FM shifts from CHR to Hot AC. Now 102.9 shifts from Hot AC to alternative in order to compete with 107.7 The End. I'm a bit torn on this. I'm hoping we'll get a better Top 40 station (something that was a huge problem because our two Top 40 stations pale in comparison to others, and since Kiss had been playing Hot AC music for awhile I kind of saw this coming), and I'm glad there's more than one station playing alternative rock, but I had grown so accustom to how things were. Also, this means there won't be a hip-hop station for Seattle since Kube is now focused on Tacoma, which sucks. Hopefully we'll get one soon. This also means there's only one active rock station in Seattle-Tacoma - 99.9 KISW, now that The Brew has shut down, and that plays too many classic rock songs for my liking. If there's any other Seattle-residing users here, what do you think of this?
