I think she's just extra sensitive with how this past year has been. I mean, it literally became the cool thing for "the culture" to hate and discredit ANYTHING Nicki Minaj. You have people throwing her name in the same sentence as a Cardi B, whom while I like and is fun, isn't a good rapper. Then a bitter ex-boyfriend trying to take credit for lyrics he didn't write. And people just believe it because it fits their narrative. And tbh, she's never actually been given the credit she deserves period. I would prefer her to not tweet about it anymore and say it on wax. Not only does it make for good music, but comments like this are always better received through lyrics rather than social media rants lol.

Man, that POP era really did a number of her image...

She's not really telling a lie about the respect thing but it's pretty obvious whenever "Starships" came out, that was when she lost a great deal of respect in hip hop. I enjoyed her Roman GRAMMY performance too but I also recall her getting backlash for that and really, her image overhaul from that whole time period was necessary but the effects of it are still very apparent and she never fully recovered from it. You can tell where people stand anytime a beef comes up and the fact that so many of her peers (in RAP) were vocally backing Remy in that "beef" (and that it was actually the COOL thing to do) kind of validates her point that she's not respected.

It's interesting that she mentioned annoyance at being compared with newcomers after years of her extended success though, considering she was a newcomer who gained a lot of buzz really by going at Kim.
