There is a Livestream on TIDAL today since it's her birthday. I doubt that's the big surprise though.

I guess it's safe to say an album won't be out this year unless it's a surprise Christmas release?

Love Trina. Her support and love for Nicki since day 1 was always genuine. And she never displayed any bitterness or jealousy.

Wasn't she supposed to have a surprise? Bruh wasn't she supposed to have an album? Wasn't she supposed to have a lead single? Wasn't she supposed to have a mixtape?

Trina is neutral and gets along with everybody...mostly cause she couldn't compete if she tried. She wasn't as successful as the Eve's & Foxy's, but she had hit singles and gold selling albums. That's a lot more than we can say for today's female rappers outside of Nicki.

That’s cute, but TODAY she’s ddoing worse than the female rappers of today. That has nothing to do with my point though lol. (And I’m a Trina stan for the record. Her debut was the first uncensored album I bought in the 8th grade.)

And?. Even back when she was having her moment she never threw shade or got caught up in beefing with her peers like they did. If anything I think it says a lot more that Trina can see someone like Nicki doing her thing and be happy for her. Instead of being bitter and angry that she's no longer relevant.

Saying someone went gold during an era where her peers were going platinum plus isnt much of a compliment. We all know Trina was never THAT girl, but she was always good for a bop or two. I still live for ding-a-ling though so I’m here for another Nicki and Trina collab.

Female rappers were barely going platinum. It's not like they were selling 10's of millions of copies of each album like every other artist was in the 90's and 2000's. So yeah, going gold for a female rapper (in any year tbh considering how elusive support is for female rap) is good imo. And especially for Trina who was never the main chick during her run.

Trina had 1 Gold album and that was her debut. Dabrat, missy, foxy, Kim, Lauryn, Eve were platinum sellers with big hits. Trina just wasnt on that level so she wasn’t going to step on any toes. It’s served her well though because there are never any high expectations from her. She didn’t have far to fall from.

If anything I think it says a lot more that Trina can see someone like Nicki doing her thing and be happy for her. Instead of being bitter and angry that she's no longer relevant. See what you're trying to do is use Trina as a launching pad to throw shade at other female rappers who don't like Nicki, but per usual when it comes to female rappers outside of Nicki you never know what you're talking about. LOL. Trina had a whole beef with Khia and Jackie O where she did interviews and diss tracks. And her biggest moment THIS YEAR was going viral for beefing with some unknown up and coming female rapper that nobody cares about. She's not above anything. But like I previously stated, when it comes to her peers that matter, Trina has always been the neutral girl from day one. She's been on songs with Lil Kim, Eve, Remy, Missy, Nicki, Da Brat, Foxy Brown, Shawnna, Diamond, and a host of other girls. Realistically she's probably worked with more female rappers than any other female rapper. She's neutral. It's not about being happy or unhappy for the next bitch. She knows HER position. And for the record, Trina was definitely one of the go-to female rappers at her peak.

Christ, now the Nicki-Remy stan war has turned into a proxy conflict over Trina. Mess.

Lil Kim’s Hardcore was the very first album I ever bought. That I actually had my brother buy for me because I wasn’t old enough at the time. I’ve listened and been supportive of female rappers since then and don’t need you telling me otherwise. Thanks.
You’re literally throwing out a whole assumption as to why Trina would be supportive of Nicki. Like it couldn’t possibly be she just likes and respects her. Nah, “she just can’t compete” 🙄. Nvm the fact that Trina performed an entire tribute performance to Nicki and they have been friends since 09. Sounds like you need the history lesson.

Ooo, I wouldn't call her a "never was", she was more low key, but still visible to Rap.
I want NM4 wtf.

I'm used to waiting for Nicki albums. Honestly, we waited long for TPP and it was worth it, so as long as she is actually making good music, I am fine with it
...as long as it isn't THAT much longer. Bitch needs to drop the album in January.

It's truly baffling why she has not released an album. She's lucky she has been keeping up her name with big guest spots, but it is very troublesome at this point. Where is the album?

It's obviously coming next year, nothing wrong with a build up. It's troublesome because of how people like Cardi B are blowing up and could take away from Nicki. In music history, a successful female rapper is hard to come by. And even when we had some, there was almost always only ONE big rapper at a time. So Nicki really needs to get the album out there and it needs to be hot. Waiting 4 years in the rap world, especially for a female, is very dangerous. Hopefully she can deliver something worth while.

I think there's enough room for two female rappers to have success. If Nicki underperforms it won't be because of Cardi.
I don't think they were happy with the album they had, specially after the three singles she released didn't set the charts on fire, so she's probably just reworking a lot of stuff. My only complain is that she needs to pick her features better; she was on a LOT of stuff this year but most of those flopped.
