The Nas/Bae bar makes me think this is older and was intended for one of the original Queen albums. Regardless it’s obviously not going to be used now which is unfortunate. It’s a good song/direction. The video ties into the theme perfectly but I wouldn’t be mad if it’s not on the album. The verses go hard and the chorus kinda is weak/disjointed. It’s like two different songs in one. The production is hot. |

Tbh a part of me thinks she might of went to rehab. She's been through a lot these past couple of years and who knows what else that we don't know. Yeah...I said a while back in this thread during her hiatus that she might have gone to rehab. "Ganja Burn" is my favorite song and video from this album so far. It's a VIBE. That beat is sick. The hook is lyrically trash, but the melody makes up for it times ten. Here for it. Even though that video isn't retouched, it's already the best video of her career. NOW SHE'S GIVING SOME QUEEN SHIT!! The song itself doesn't sound like a hit, but once Nicki realizes that queens don't have to focus on every chart position, she can flop in peace while letting the art speak for itself.

In the end, I'd rather have a big discography full of hits and other memorable moments than a short career with a Hot 100 #1 or two. A #1 is an achievement with bragging rights, for sure, but a big hit is a big hit is a big hit. The more the merrier, and Nicki has an assload of em. There's an element of luck to scoring a certain peak, along with many other factors.
It's like an actor getting nominated for 6 Oscars over a 30 year career as an A-lister but never winning vs. an actor who won an Oscar for their first role and then falls off the map. Sometimes it's the one role in the one movie and all the stars align, but that's their sole claim to fame.
This is a general statement, and not intended to detract from anyone's achievements. I just think the H100 #1 game is rather futile when there's a much larger picture.

We can sit here and admire her success she had with all her pink albums. Nicki did her thing and blew down the door like a boss bitch.
But we aren't stans so we can also sit here in 2o18 and wonder why her rhymes are so tepid , samey and lazy and why it seems she seems unhinged lately maybe last year and half. Let's not mask her career downward trajectory to just hate. Outside of her hard core stans nobody seems to be feeling her and or checking for her like that anymore and it's all her doing.
That's my god honest non trolling outsider view on her in 2018. I honestly don't even want to hate on her, shady shade aside because his seems completely out of her mind and not herself. Im not saying she is mentally ill but I know signs of substance abuse when I see it.
