On the surface I look like a Nicki Minaj hater but I actually respect her talents and I want black women to win in white spaces that exist in Hollywood /showbiz but I'm seriously just noticing WAY too much "fake s**t" publicity stunts and shows like I did with Madonna on social media and it annoys me. I just want her to win and be authentic and original and just smarten up. Same. I'm actually an Onika stan. She is an incredibly talented lyricist and a superb businesswoman. HOWEVER, as I have said several times, Nicki is too comfortable in her spot to a point where it's blatantly arrogant, and it's going to eventually ruin her. She HAS to humble and show the more relatable version of herself. When you stop giving people a reason to root for you, you're done. And right now, she is transitioning to a place where people are rooting for her to fail--and she's giving them every reason to. |

I mean, when you collaborate with someone who pled guilty to a felony charge of sexual misconduct with a 13 year old, you have to expect some backlash especially when you have pretended to care about children and women in the past lol. I think like most in the industry success way trumps pretty much anything else though which is why people willingly work with rapists and abusers all the time. Its just people can't be shocked when some fans and press call it out. It comes with the territory of choosing to work with people who abuse people, including children. Nicki doesn't give a damn though-I truly believe the only thing that matters to her is getting a hit/success/being respected as successful. I would almost prefer if she just admitted it rather than going on speeches about how she supports all women and people who abuse children should be executed in public immediately (which she actually said one time). Like, girl, please.
I still think she is the most talented female rapper out there right now even if the "other" stuff gets in the way of it sometimes.
