Loved reading the Vogue article. That's one facet I love and respect most about Nicki and true artists like her: her perfectionistic, detail-oriented, meticulous way of creating and producing music. She's not the type to just get a hook off someone, hit the studio to lay down vocals, and call it a day. She's going to not only write her material spending who knows how long perfecting its lyrical content/symbolism/structure, but she's going to painstakingly make sure it is to the absolute best of her creative ability, while also making sure every aspect of it (right down to any potential minuscule background interference as stated within the article) translates exactly what she wants to say and what she wants the listener to take from it. That whole process is what separates a mere singer/rapper/vocalist for lack of a better term from an actual artist for me personally. That whole process is a talent in itself and I respect it tremendously in artists like her, Taylor, Billie, and Mariah to name a few.

She isn't indepedent, so I don't see how her label will let her drop the album, relying on Super Freaky Girl and Last Time I Saw You to sell it. Barbs will buy it, regardless, but will the general public?

Pretty sure the album isn’t coming and that’s why we’re getting press on nails instead of actual music to launch an album that’s supposed to be two weeks away. She was going on last night about how she’s still writing and recording.

If the album is still dropping on the same day, maybe they are just waiting to either launch a single at release or wait and see which song takes off the most naturally and they push that as the single.
Its also Christmas Freeze time on the charts so they can wait it out since whatever song she pushes won't likely not do major chart impact at all until next year.
