Artist: Kelsea Ballerini Single: "Peter Pan" Writers: Kelsea Ballerini, Forest Glen Whitehead, Jesse Lee Album: The First TimeLabel: Black River Entertainment Add Date: March 21st, 2016 This is 2-3 weeks early but Kelsea did announce at CRS today that "Peter Pan" will be her third single from The First Time. "Dibs" had a 'Power Up' ad in Country Aircheck this weekend, so that song will be peaking within two weeks time. I was originally told back in December that "Peter Pan" would be the third single and that was pretty much confirmed by Kelsea via twitter around the New Year. Kenny Jay on twitter confirmed the news, as well.

Logical choice and definitely a much better song than both "Love Me Like You Mean It" and "Dibs" combined. This is one I did really like when I listened to the album. "Sirens" is my favorite and if I had my way, it would get released at some point. Doubt it will, though.
"Peter Pan" should do great for her!

Super excited about this choice! This is a fantastic pick for the third single and I expect it to continue her hot streak at country radio! Probably my favorite song on the whole album, which is a very strong set of songs overall. Glad that they're switching it up a bit for single #3 and they're definitely doing it with one of the absolute best options. Really can't wait to start hearing this one on the radio!

This song is so catchy. Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Going to be a huge hit. Very good song. I can see this being a big hit. First song by her I've actually liked quite a bit (I'm always rooting for her since she seems so nice and genuine though). Also, why is this a guilty pleasure? If you like a song, like a song. No reason to ever feel guilty about it!

This song is amazing. I love the production. Also the lyrics manage to use the "Peter Pan" metaphor brilliantly. I hope when Kelsea goes to her sophomore album there's more of this. Kelsea Ballerini really shows off her singing voice really well here. I definitely hope this becomes an even bigger hit than "LMLYMI" I would love this to be the song that people remembered the most from the album.

This stood out to me when I first heard the album. She's so youthful.

I really like this one. It was a standout when i listened to the album. The metaphor is used so well. It could have been really cheesy but it isn't.
Predicting another #1 here.

So glad this is the next single! It was a standout on the album for me, and I was hoping for either this or "First Time" to be released. If they close the era with "Yeah Boy" as the 4th single, I would say this has been a pretty solid debut era for her.

Weeping tears of joy that this is finally confirmed. This is easily my favorite on her nearly perfect album, so I am ecstatic that it's actually getting a release. I think everything about this is fantastic - the melody is catchy as hell for a slow jam, she sounds fantastic and authentic, and I am thoroughly impressed by the ongoing metaphor of the song and how well it actually represents an immature relationship. I think a lot of people will be able relate to this one, and the ones that don't can appreciate it for what it is: a well written, catchy song.
I'm so pumped for this and I hope it continues Kelsea's success!

I love this one and it shows some variety, so I think it's a smart choice :) Hopefully it will be another #1 for Kelsea

Also, I should mention that this was a single choice Kelsea wanted. I'm unsure if Black River would have released it anyway (I might bet they would have) but I do know Kelsea asked for "Peter Pan" to be a single. She's stated multiple times that this is her favorite song on the album. Edit to add a Music Row article talking about this:

The production also allows that and the songwriting works very well here.

I hope the music video for this will be a good one. The song is pretty good. This is one of the best single choices so far from the album.

Just wondering, does anyone thinks this sounds too Disney? Me. And its one of the main reasons why I can't get into this. This literally sounds like a Radio Disney song. I think the chorus is sung pretty well and its extremely catchy, but the lyrics and whole Peter Pan metaphor are almost laughable to me.

I really like the song and hope it does well for her, but I can't help hearing a Disney song - a very good one - when I hear this (and I have heard it many, many times - by choice). I know it's completely a metaphor, but I'm just not sure about its place on Country radio. And not because it sounds too pop or anything. Although I love the song, I think "The First Time" would have been a better choice. With this said, I'm very interested to see how they will market this song (video, interviews, etc.) I wonder if they will play up or down the relation to... Peter Pan.

Aside from the Peter Pan references, this one doesn't remind me of Disney at all. The subject matter is a lot more serious and mature than Kelsea's previous singles, and I don't think the production sounds too magical or childlike or anything like that.

No add date yet but in Black River's "Thank You" ad in Country Aircheck this evening for "Dibs", they mentioned at the bottom...
"Get Ready To Fly Away."
"Peter Pan" is coming.
BTW: Stuck this in the wrong thread at first, haha. :)

This song, however, I can root for.

BTW: Stuck this in the wrong thread at first, haha. :) "Peter Pan" has become a huge guilty pleasure of mine over the past couple of weeks I get why it may be viewed as a guilty pleasure but I really think the metaphor ("Peter Pan") works here. When I first saw the title before the album came out I was like "geez, this reads like a 15 year old girl wrote this in her diary" but the song is well structured and I think it's a clever idea. I convinced my dad last week to listen to the song and he's a fan of it, too. He said he hated "Dibs" but he likes this one. :)
