OK so I'm not sure this thread will see much response, nor am I sure whether it'd even need to - but, I saw on the Support Board that this would be happening and so I thought it prudent to give y'all a heads-up. ProBoards will be removing the "Related Topics & Stories" box that's at the bottom of each thread page. It should be happening sometime today - actually I'm a bit surprised that it hasn't been done yet as I type this. support.proboards.com/thread/583651/advertisement-placement-update

Oh, that'll look weird? It's not that I really use it, but it's decent filler I guess.

Actually it kind of has been so far - not for the box disappearing, but rather for the fact that it's been replaced with an additional ad that is frequently exacerbating the major slowdown problems people are having.

Gahhhhh!!! That's why my computer was slower than a slug tonight.
Proboards thinks of new and fun ways to make me want to pull my hair out.

Have the banner ads at the bottom now grown in size? They seem to be huge...

This is a brand new (relatively) computer with a brand new update yet this additional ad is always slowing down this site for me, to the point of unbearable.

For about 20 minutes earlier, I kept getting a busy script warning, which is what it did nearly all of last night. I haven't see an issue "lately" but I'm on mobile right now...

For about 20 minutes earlier, I kept getting a busy script warning, which is what it did nearly all of last night. I haven't see an issue "lately" but I'm on mobile right now... Have this reporting tool open as a separate tab whenever you're browsing any ProBoards forum: ads.proboards.com/ad-report.htmlIf you're on PC (desktop/laptop) : Switch to the Ad Report tab whenever you hit a "slowdown" issue, and refresh that page. Don't hesitate to close Pulse or whatever forum for the moment if it gets that bad. On the Ad Report page, the offending "slowdown" ad should be near the top of the list. Click Report, fill out the form (not much different than reporting a post on here, really), and click Submit. This will notify ProBoards staff so that they can deal with the offender. If you're on Mobile: Instead of slowdowns, chances are ad redirects will be the main issue you may run into. Whenever you get redirected by an ad, navigate back until you're no longer getting redirected, then switch to the Ad Report tab, refresh that page, and from there the steps are the same as above.
By the way: This post applies to anyone who may be reading this. Simply put: ProBoards staff need users' help to be able to identify and get rid of the problematic ads. The above steps are how we can help them do that. :)
