New South sells four radio stations to Burke Broadcasting

Meridian, Mississippi-based New South Radio (doing business as The Radio People?) is selling its four radio stations to Burke Broadcasting.

WALT-AM: talk (simulcast of WALT-FM)
WALT-FM (Talk Radio 102.1): talk
WKZB (95.1 The Buzz): classic hits
WUCL (Country Legends 97-9): classic country

New South Radio already owns another group of radio stations (or do they?) in Meridian.

WJDQ (Q101): top-40
WJXM (105.7 The Beat): urban contemporary
WOKK (97OKK): country
WYHL (Hallelujah 1450): urban gospel
WZKS (Kiss 104.1): urban adult contemporary

I just found out--via Radio Insight--that Burke Broadcasting will trade WALT (AM) and WKZB for WJXM.

When all is said and done, Burke will own WALT-FM, WJXM and WUCL--and operate WALT (AM) via a time-brokerage agreement. The other company, Mississippi Broadcasters, will own WALT, WJDQ, WKZB, WOKK, WYHL and WZKS.
