#1 in the US and UK in 1970. It hit #1 in the UK for a second time after his passing in 2002.

50 years ago today, the two A-side single "My Sweet Lord" / "Isn't It a Pity" by George Harrison reached the top of the Hot 100. He became the first former Beatle to have a solo No.1 hit in the U.S. - "Lord" spent 4 weeks on top of the Hot 100 in the U.S. and 5 weeks on top of the U.K. chart. His album, "All Things Must Pass," co-produced with Phil Spector, was a critical and commercial success. No lawsuit talk from me. I love the guitar work on the record, simple lyrics and George's strong emotion. It's a lovely prayer, really.
