"Jennifer dropped a song a few weeks ago. It's called 'Remember Me,' and people answered with 'Noooo.'"

If you listened carefully The Voice teased Jennifer's next single I'm guessing is titled "Glory" they played it in the background straight after Chris Weaver announced he picked Jennifer as his coach

She’s amazing on The Voice. Haven’t watched the show in years but my husband sband loves her (I’m obv a fan, as well) so we decided to watch the blind auditions for her and she’s just so engaging and commanding. We’ve just kept on watching, mostly for the random moments she belts—but she’s got a good team, too.

This sounds like some bullshit to get leverage for custody. I hate when people do this.

So David has been given primary custody of their son and she dropped the order of protection. Interesting...

Temporary primary custody; the formal arrangement has yet to be finalized.

Watching The Voice, there was a commercial for some Google thing that had her singing “O Christmas Tree” in the background, which got me thinking... Since she’s obviously not going to get out her next album to capitalize on The Voice—seriously WTF what a miss—why didn’t she use this promo to put out a Christmas album at least??

I suspect they just don’t know what to do with her. It’s very sad because The Voice is a great promotional opportunity....but then again it hasn’t helped any of the judges recently except Blake

A shame she couldn't get something out during The Voice (I'd love a Christmas album from her!). I've always been a fan of her voice but she has such starpower on that show--she's been a joy to watch, and the only reason I started watching after a few years.

She is amazing on this show. I love her personality, her passion, her facial expression, and yes, she has one of the best people on her team (Davon). That Sean Cody twink is insufferable. My absolute favorite is Brooke but Davon is a close second. My favorite part is when she throws her shoe LOL. I love how she has been doing it all season and Carson STILL acts confused.

Aww I like Noah haha--he actually seems to have the best sense of himself/musicality of the whole group, even if he has one of the "weaker" voices technically who's left. Davon is amaaaaazing but he needs to quit with the female ballads (haven't seen last nights). Brooke and Keisha are my overall favorites (I'd kill for a black girl to storm up the country charts), but Davon has that voice. ...but mostly I watch for JHud to just randomly belt sky-high notes out of f**king thin air. Also, Carson better get used to the shoe-throwing as it could continue next season...

Jennifa's manic belting gives me LIFE. She wears those church influences on her sleeve and I love her for that. There are times I don't mind Noah and think he sounds decent but his lower register isn't as strong as he (or the coaches on the show) believes it to be and his duet last night was a wet blanket. But, as usual, your taste is impeccable, as Keisha and Brooke are my 2 favorites as well. I have a feeling one of them (probably Keisha, as racist America continues to rear its ugly head, though props to Blake for supporting her so wholeheartedly - I actually believe he wants her to win and I am glad she is on his team, actually) is going home immediately in favor of basic-ass Red (like him as a person but...meh...) or Adam (who isn't bad but definitely no Chris Stapleton). Brooke is like Jordin Sparks but better. For the first time ever, I have been inspired to listen to the recorded version of the songs, just so they can count as votes and OMG @ her version of Amazing Grace...
Totally agree about Davon's predilection for female-led songs. I mean, it's obvious why he does it, but I wonder how America REALLY feels about it. Well...spoiler alert but last night, he sang Gravity (aka John Mayer's best song) and...goosebumps. It was TRULY masterful. When he starts shrieking, I tend to get annoyed because I have seen that trick one too many times but good lord, he was so on point emotionally last night that you can tell he felt every word.
Poor Jennifer. Her thread gets hijacked for a discussion of The Voice but it's the only thing she has going for her right now so...it is what it is.

What sound do y’all think she should go with for the new album?

What sound do y’all think she should go with for the new album? In all honestly, whatever sound she wants to. Pop ain't gonna play her, neither is Urban. UAC will of course give her a shot if the material is appropriate, but UAC isn't selling sh*t, so what's the point of putting herself in that box for no payoff? She found a really good lane with JHud IMO, I'd like to see her expand on that. Her voice sounds so good over dancier/upbeat material to me. She can run the full promo gamut (her name is still big enough to pull in plenty of big appearances) and then do a co-headlining tour with another artist to help fill the seats. And she needs a really good role again, she needs to focus on that just as much as the music.

I'm sure this exact dilemma is what contributed to her team not pushing harder to capitalize on the Voice exposure with new music; Remember Me was obviously made with the European markets in mind while she was over there but it was never going to translate well in the States; she's definitely not gonna get her music pushed to the contemporary pop audience that watches the Voice and Urban AC material will leave her dead in the water.
That said, I concur that, out of her three albums, the throwback sound of JHUD is what suited her and her best the voice to me.

Not sure if her new single Burden Down is supposed to just be half piano and then half a cappella to end, or if that was just done for dramatic effect but...she sounded great, at least. She is not big enough to have a spare Adele-like moment, unfortunately - at least not commercially speaking.
Meanwhile, in Trump's racist America, my prediction of Adam Cunningham and Big Red came true and the 2nd and 3rd most talent VOICES (Davon and Keisha) were sent home. Such bullshit. Brooke better win this whole thing, then.

I just want an album that sounds like "No Ones gonna love you" "Dangerous" and "If this isn't love" all wrapped into 1. My favorite songs from all 3 of her albums. I don't see why Urban couldn't play her if she did something with a relevant urban artist like Miguel or Chris Brown.

I love "Burden Down." I hope that's a reflection of what her next album will be like.
