I was talking about Pink, sorry for the confusion. Lol. All I know is that apparently Pink is just too busy with her life to help promote this a lot. This song is a massive hit. Would it have been an even bigger hit with more promo? Probably. But this song is definitely going to be one of the country songs people remember for 2016. I know its frustrating but at the same this song has proven it will probably have a long staying time.

Agreed. "Trip Around the Sun" is a fun and catchy song and I've been listing to it a ton since it was released. Kenny really likes songs about society though so I wouldn't be surprised if it actually was "Rich and Miserable." However I don't see it being a big hit if it is the next single. Would you care to cite any examples? Granted I'm not the biggest Kenny Chesney fan, Although I have come around from having detested him at one point. But looking through his singles discography, I can't really think of any that I would call a "society" song. "Noise" is the only song about society that he's released as a single thus far but he has had others. "Welcome to the Fishbowl" and "Some People Change." Now he has "Rich and Miserable." I just thought he may release it since "Noise" didn't become as big of a hit as he had hoped.

Why is it that artists always seem to choose to release the song that a lot of us are dreading them releasing?
I'd consider myself a pretty big Chesney fan, but "Noise" was awful, this is average at best (regardless of how "big" anyone says it was) and "Rich and Miserable" is just horrible. Listening to Kenny's stuff from even 5 years ago is jarring when comparing it to these songs.

Just previewed the album on iTunes, and I have to say, its easily Kenny's worst album ever. Not really sure what direction he was trying to go, but a lot of the songs were pretty bad, and I'm normally a Kenny fan. He just seems so lost on this record, like he was trying to remain relevant but also trying to make meaningful music at the same time. I don't forsee many other big hit singles from this honestly.

"Life On A Rock" is upset that you are giving its 'worst album ever' title away. I actually find it to be pretty good despite a couple of songs. Some nice steel guitar in "Jesus and Elvis" btw. I can see Trip Around the Sun, Some Town Somewhere, and maybe Winnebago being singles.

I agree, Trip Around the Sun, Some Town Somewhere and maybe even Jesus and Elvis could be singles. But then, I liked noise and R&M, although not sure how radio friendly it is. I don't mind him trying new things. When you have 17 albums, which means 200 + songs, you don't want to do the same thing over and over again. We have a few white-hot country artists out there doing that --while their original stuff may have been good, it has become nauseating. Since these artists are played every third song, I end up turning off radio or switching formats. Some of CH to me is very traditional Kenny, while a few others very, very different. And there are few I don't care for. But that would be true with any album.

Apart from STWOF I can't really say that I liked any of these songs on first listen, though "Life On a Rock" was the moment when I almost wrote KC off.

He said the 3 songs they added when they moved the release date back were "Trip Around the Sun", "Bucket", and "All the Pretty Girls" (along with "Setting the World on Fire" I'd assume).
To me those are the three of the four best songs on the album, along with "Jesus and Elvis." Just interesting how the sound was noticably different prior to moving the release date.

Finally got around to listening to the album, I must say I'm pretty disappointed. "American Kids" is one of my least favorite Kenny singles ever and it feels like he's sort of trying to duplicate the sound of that song on a lot of the songs on this new cd. I like "Setting The World On Fire", "Trip Around The Sun", "All The Pretty Girls", and "Jesus And Elvis", but the rest of the album is just meh to me. And "Bucket" is one of the worst songs I've ever heard from Kenny.

I hope they are considering early sales as they pick the next single. We think it's "Rich and Miserable" right?
iTunes sales are in the following order: Setting the World on Fire (1) Noise (43) Trip Around the Sun (47) All the Pretty Girls (62) Bucket (71) Coach (92) Some Town Somewhere (101) Bar at the End of the World (109) Rich and Miserable (128)
So it's not even close. I also think it's telling that the 3 songs they added after the rework are the three highest selling songs after the 2 that have already been singles...

Song still top 5 on ITunes. If only Pink would agree to leave the house and help Kenny promote, it could be so much bigger. Ugh... Hope he gets a replacement tonight at the CMAS.

Did you expect a free fall so fast on the radio? Columbia Nashville went for 2 weeks at #1 and we now have three songs at well over 8,000 spins. Something had to give. Kenny's song was a big hit but it spent quite a few weeks inside the top 5 and radio needed to make room. Not too surprised.

Wow, looks like week 1 sales of CH are down from past albums. Sales are getting harder to come by but not good news after an week that should have been a crowning moment and turned into an unbelievable attack on him. But sales are still holding fairly steady for both CH and SWOF. Wonder when SWOF will be certified gold. Must be close.
