Lots of #1 songs from 60s to 80s didn't make YE chart, they were cut between years. And with no such longevity back then (8-10 weeks at average) it's reasonable

Hello! I came from the future to revive this thread.
In the year 2020, there are potentially three #1 songs that might miss the Year-End list. - "TROLLZ" by 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj (guaranteed to miss) - "cardigan" by Taylor Swift (needs a miracle to keep stable) - "FRANCHISE" by Travis Scott, Young Thug, and M.I.A. (looks likely to miss so far)
