(Double post, again) One thing that occurred to me is that Tik Tok is now listed in between Just The Way You Are and Dark Horse, which is not the case on Greatest of All Time. There, it's between Blurred Lines and Royals. And weren't only 32 of its weeks counted towards 2010(s)? Weren't its first six used up in 2009? And I doubt those six weeks would have pushed it back THAT much. So how did you come up with those point totals for GOAT and 2010 DE? edit: So I calculated Tik Tok's six weeks from 2009 and got 61477, and added them to the current (reply #48) point totals for 2010, and ended with...1,114,985 points, which is give or take 300 more than george's GOAT totals on the OP. Hm. Yes, you are correct. I just checked and had a typo for one of its first six weeks; I had put #17 rather than #16, for its fourth week, causing that mistake. Thanks for spotting that! ;) I came up with the point totals through trial and error with the 2000's Decade-end chart first.

Just saying this but doesn't it seems that songs that are caught between decades more frustrating than between years. I think it's just me YES! You Belong With Me & Empire State of Mind are going to get screwed.

END OF OCTOBER UPDATE (10/29/2016)No new changes to my inverse point system formula, this time. I've decided to release updates to this at the end of each month from now on especially since the next update will include exactly the first 7 years of the decade! Also, I may just release a Top 100 video then to go along with my 2010-2016 predictions so stay tuned for that! Notes: - One Dance continues to rack up points just crossing the 900k mark now, moving 35-31 over 4 weeks. It seems as though top 40 is certain for the song.
- Work has dropped out at 46 and I'm kinda glad it won't go any further (cause I hate the song). It's kind of a disappointingly low finish for a 9-week #1 though.
- Don't Let Me Down has now entered projected top 100 territory at 67! Guess that's what 23 top-10 weeks does for a song that only peaked at #3.
- Cheap Thrills is now in the top 100 songs (at 82) and has great potential to keep moving into the projected territory. Panda does not move much up to 87 and Stressed Out leaves the chart ending its performance at 97.
- Closer now tallies over 500k points in a mere 11 weeks! It, along with maybe TIWYCF, should be the only ones in the top 100 by next update.

Alright, comments time! - Heh, didn't think Don't Let Me Down would reach the threshold that easily. It's been with us for 2/3 the year so I shouldn't be surprised, but that is still very interesting. And seeing as Cheap Thrills is still in the Top 10 right now, it looks set. - And with Panda at #32 on the Hot 100 currently, hopefully it'll be on its way out soon and miss the final cut. - "I'm kinda glad it won't go further (because I hate the song)." Ha, welcome to my world, my friend. But I'm not complaining that it ended right below one of my favorites on this list, that being one that only peaked at #3. But of course it ended right above Stay With Me and Blank Space. - Anyone have a feeling that both Closer and One Dance may have a shot at Greatest of All Time once they're both said and done?
And my eulogy to our two dropouts: (Interestingly, both these songs debuted on the Hot 100 the same week.) First, 7 Years. While many saw you as a conceited ego trip, I was able to appreciate the story of the success of your band. I do still enjoy listening to you, even though many find you old and annoying. It's hard for me to hate a song like this, even if you weren't THE biggest stand-out in that crowd. Farewell, 7 Years. And I Took a Pill In Ibiza. Although your EDM tried to hide the song that you really were, you managed to create something that made an unusual, but solid, mix. As your creator said, “There’s a beautiful irony to it. I made this sad song that people are getting joy out of. As an artist, you can’t really ask for anything more.” Well said. Sadly, they didn't get quite enough joy out of it for you to make the highest profile. Goodbye, I Took a Pill In Ibiza. You won't be forgotten.

Wait...how did "One Dance" already pass up "Love Yourself" when it's still behind the track on the year-end chart?

- Anyone have a feeling that both Closer and One Dance may have a shot at Greatest of All Time once they're both said and done? Eh, I don't know about Closer yet, but One Dance needs around 140k points at least. It received ~8k points this week, so if it were to stay at #17 it would need 18 more weeks. With this kind of one-sided inverse point system, I doubt it'll make it. Wait...how did "One Dance" already pass up "Love Yourself" when it's still behind the track on the year-end chart? If you read through my first post, you'll see the inverse point system I'm using. That gives the #1 song of any given week a huge advantage. So, seeing as One Dance received 10 weeks at #1 to Love Yourself's 2, it isn't hard to see why that is. The year-end chart is different since it goes directly off of sales, streams, and airplay with points for each position varying from week to week. The decade-end chart awards points based off of position (very unfair imo).

For example, I think we can all agree that "Hello" was pretty damn massive and will go down as one of the most well-remembered songs of the decade. However, it didn't last that long on the Billboard Hot 100, giving it a disadvantage.

Im still annoyed that Harlem Shake is the reason that Thrift Shop is not top 10 on this list. :(

Yeah DLMD is making decade end!!! Finally a 2016 song I like that's making it on!!
Too bad 7 Years and ITAPII fell out without even hitting top 100... You guys will be remembered, especially the latter... And RIP Stressed Out soon... deserved so much better :(
Hopefully Heathens and Starboy make some progress on the decade end as well soon! Though I expect Heathens to end up like Stressed Out... hopefully Starboy can avoid that.
I'm definately looking forward to that video :)

Also, for you who care, I bothered to list the number of weeks every song that was at #1 had there. You’re welcome.
14 weeks: Uptown Funk (hopefully Closer won’t join this) 12 weeks: Blurred Lines, See You Again 10 weeks: We Found Love, Happy, Hello, One Dance 9 weeks: Tik Tok, Call Me Maybe, One More Night, Royals, Work, Closer (so far) 8 weeks: Somebody That I Used To Know, All About That Bass 7 weeks: Love The Way You Lie, Rolling In The Deep, Fancy, Blank Space 6 weeks: California Gurls, Party Rock Anthem, We Are Young, Locked Out of Heaven, Thrift Shop, Rude, Cheerleader, The Hills 5 weeks: E.T., Someone Like You, Can’t Hold Us 4 weeks: OMG, Just The Way You Are, Grenade, Moves Like Jagger, Dark Horse, Shake It Off, Cheap Thrills 3 weeks: Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You), Wrecking Ball, Timber, All Of Me, Can’t Feel My Face, Sorry 2 weeks: Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), Sexy And I Know It, Set Fire To The Rain, Roar, Love Yourself, Panda (though hopefully that last one won't make it) 1 week: Give Me Everything, Break Your Heart, What Do You Mean?
Some of you may not care about this, but just for a list to see how well the songs that are looking like they're set lasted while they were big.

Love this prediction and video! One suggestion: maybe next time you can include the number of weeks at #1 for all the #1 songs.

Thanks for feedback! I'll make sure to include the number of weeks at peak position for those that peaked inside the top 10 (which I guess is all of these) in the future.

So I watched the video. Pretty fun to see the history of the songs that have since passed us, once again.
Also, george, you forgot I Like It in the RIP section. Which brings me to my eulogy for that one: while some saw you as a bad turn in direction for Enrique Iglesias that would then extend to his 2011 hit Tonight (I'm f**king You), which wasn't helped by the inclusion of Pitbull, I definitely saw your appeal and considered you fun to a good degree. You may not be the biggest jam for the party, but I do enjoy listening to you every so often. Goodbye, I Like It. At least Pitbull has two other songs that'll be here.
Work From Home, on the other hand, is not getting a eulogy from me. Rot in hell where you belong, you crappy ripoff of another crappy older song from the early 2000s.
Finally, you may as well add 24K Magic to the Songs To Look Out For lineup. Even though it's still pretty shaky right now, it could always gain out of nowhere (though I guess you might be considering waiting to see what happens), and I know that BB is there because it literally just hit #1 and might be there a while.

In case you don't watch TheDoubleAgent (which I'm gonna assume you don't), it was mentioned in his Spring 2016 video that this song took the beat from that one. He called it one of the worst songs of all time, and while I wouldn't go that far it's definitely aged pretty terribly. But while on topic, I wonder if Heathens will maintain its longevity enough to make it... It's still in the Top 5, but has peaked in airplay so we'll see how long it holds on.

Yeah, I guess I'll add 24K Magic soon though a song can't really do much if it doesn't peak higher than #5 (though I do realize 24K Magic probably will go higher very soon). The RIP section is meant for hit songs of this year, that fall off, that did not reach the Top 100. So, a song falling from the actual Top 100 won't receive a mention since it didn't fall off the Billboard hot 100 just before that update.

Yeah, I did mention 24K Magic because, well, to put in perspective you have Ride here, and that song spent like one week at #5. Not to mention Cake By The Ocean and Needed Me, neither of which have passed #7 but you get my point.
And huh, didn't know that. I guess the songs that are pushed off the projection by newer entries were there but don't get mentioned because the STLOF section I guess is for those that tried but couldn't make it, so they're "honored" for doing their best anyway. Still...

I calculated points for Stay (Rihanna) using your inverse points. It totaled around 684K which puts it just outside the projected Top 100 and 4th biggest hits for her this decade. Here's hoping it makes it.

Here's hoping it makes it. I think you may have forgotten the multipliers cause if you don't use them I also total its chart run at 684.7k. With the appropriate multipliers, I find it to be just off of the current top 100 at 616,216 points.

georgetherunner314 can you please post how many points all of katy's songs have from this decade? only if you have time of course. please and thank you! Unfortunately, I don't currently have the stats for all those songs this decade. To save time, I purposely only looked at songs that were on decade charts of users who have done this in the past and added some more recent ones they didn't have. I've started actually tracking chart runs by the week and am done with 2010 and 2011, so far. I'll probably get a lot more done once I'm out of school for winter break, but for now I don't have that data compiled. Sorry, about that. If you would be kind enough to provide the chart run for each of her songs, though, then maybe I can do it quickly.

DECEMBER UPDATE (12/31/2016)For a second time, I did some more revising on my point system which you can go check back to the first post to see in detail. Anyway, here's this month's update which looks to be pretty interesting compared to previous ones. Also w6 I should have Katy Perry's collection of songs ready this weekend. Wow, Closer's really moving up the chart since the last update, with only 20 weeks charted. It looks likely to be near the Top 20 by the time January's update is posted. Thanks a lot, georgetherunner314, as always!

If Closer survives the next 32 weeks, it should be one of the biggest single of decade.

If Closer survives the next 32 weeks, it should be one of the biggest single of decade. Definitely! It is on track to easily beat We Found Love's 23 weeks in the top 10, so it'd be above it. Whether it can challenge UF! and PRA for the Top 2 remains to be seen and would depend heavily on the remainder of its chart run.
