Seldom post here anymore but I still lurk. Huge Loss. I always enjoyed reading Dudley and she will certainly be missed.

I'm so sad to hear of Dev's passing. She was such a level headed, articulate and intelligent poster (and later, moderator, administrator and bloggler), and I always enjoyed reading (and learning from) her posts. Pulse and the country music journalism world, and more importantly her family and friends, have suffered a tremendous loss.
I hadn't spoken to her personally in quite awhile, but I always enjoyed her insight, as well as her fairness. As a moderator, she always sought to keep thing running smoothly and would, through PM, run potential rule changes and revisions by a few of the posters who had been here awhile. I always felt honoured that she included me in this. She truly cared about what she did, and sought to do it in the fairest way possible.
It's such a tragedy that she is gone so soon, and so young.

She was a trailblazer and I always admired how eloquent and passionate she was about country music. She will truly be missed.

I don't post here often...but I followed Dev extensively over the past 5 years on Twitter and had more than a few conversations with her about country music. On more than a few occasions, I sought her for guidance on editorial pieces I was working on or critique on past stories. She was my MENTOR, although I never told her I saw her as such. This is such a sucker blow to my soul. I can't even breathe..............
I still have not been able to process this.

😭so sad right now. I've interacted her a couple times outside of pulse on Twitter , and she seemed like a very sweet passionate person. I'm heartbroken right now. May she rest in peace.

I didn't interact with her much personally, but often read her posts. She was a highly intelligent and reasonable woman, and her presence on Pulse is definitely going to be greatly missed. RIP Dudley.

If I'm not mistaking, Dev/Dudley was one of the posters on the old Billboard Country forum and, after it closed, several of us migrated here some 10+ years ago.
I had a few conversations on here with her..mostly back in my earlier days when I was post something that was a tad "out of line" :) . As only she could do, Dudley would kindly send a private message...usually saying (in not so many words) "I agree with what you're saying, but I don't agree with how you're saying it".
I echo the chorus of how missed she will be.

Crazy how someone you never (in person) meet, see, or even speak can be an impact on your life. Makes me thankful for the camaraderie in this Country forum. Sad to hear, but I'm sure she's spinning some solid country gold wherever she is now.

Wow, this is really upsetting to hear. Since stepping down a couple years ago, I hadn't talked to her at all (and now I really wish I had), but she was an awesome co-worker for the 7 or so years that we were both on staff. As others have mentioned, she was so dedicated to this board. There were numerous times when she'd apologize for not having been more active in a staff discussion that had started just a day or two beforehand, even when she had a 110% valid reason to have not been active. I can honestly say that she always tried her best to see the good in every single poster here, even if there were a few times when it may not have always been obvious from a distance.
I knew that she was already helping to run a couple other boards at the time that she joined our staff in 2007, but had no idea that her internet presence was so wide-ranging. I was already impressed by how much time she clearly spent on her posts here, and to think that she was making those long, thoroughly-explained, thoroughly-researched posts on several other boards and blogs shows just how dedicated she was to the online country music community.

This is devastating. She was so knowledgeable and one of the most patient and fair administrators/moderators I have ever worked with.

I know I don't post much here anymore, but this news has made me really sad. Having been a member here for 11 years, I occasionally engaged in PM conversations with Dev. Like other people have mentioned, I remember getting PMs asking a group of active posters about a potential forum rule change.
One moment in particular that I always remember is when she said she admired my succinct writing style. I took that as a great compliment considering how well she wrote.
RIP Dev

Awesome read! Great to see she meant so much, to so many people! She is beautiful, naturally so and to see the many side of personality, her heart and kindness in addition to the intelligence she always showed, is marvelous. YASSSS DUDLEY! She always managed to be right about people, if when you thought she wasnt paying attention or reading you. She always knew and always found something she liked. Will take this with me from her and its so great to find out more from her via that tribute "Out of all the Pulse posters whose philosophies about Pulse differ strongly from mine, I think you're the person with a genuinely strong capacity for empathy -- something you come by sincerely, something that is not a front. It is why I get frustrated when I see you in the middle of avoidable conflict, but it is why you're a net positive for Pulse." She managed to put aside differences and still find a good quality, i so respect that in people (and its so rare)

Saddened to hear the devastating news about Dudley. In what I've seen on the country boards here in Pulse, she was kind, knowledgeable and patient. Based on what I read here, all of this is true and then some.
Rest in Peace and prayers to her family on this difficult time.

I am a bit late, and I rarely post anymore, but I felt I needed to add my condolences. I've been a member and observer of this forum for years (probably since 2007-2008, I've been active prior to my current screen name), and Dudley has always been one of, if not my favorite, poster. Based on what I've observed, Dev really seemed like a wonderful person and contributed so much to this forum. Every time I saw her posts on a topic, I was always excited to read it from start to finish. Even if you didn't always 100% agree with her thoughts, I believe pretty much everyone here can agree that they gained something from each post. She made you think of things from a different view point, and could also relay your thoughts on a given subject much better than you could have said yourself.
She had a way of creating a long, multi-paragraph post and make everyone read every word without seeming long winded (a gift I do not possess). Also, she never bashed anyone's opinion or called or inferred that anyone was stupid. And when arguments erupted, she was able to lay down the hammer without making it seem like she was throwing the hammer in anyone's face.
I never knew much about Dev (actually referred to her as just Dudley) outside this forum, but reading about her contribututions in other avenues does not surprise me. She was that incredible. This forum will not be the same without her presence. Just reading all these condolences is proof of that. I think she would be (and is) extremely touched to see all these people give their condolences. We should all attempt to emulate Dudley here to keep this forum alive and well.

Of course, I should have known Dudley and windmills were one in the same, it's so obvious once it's pointed out. Her posts were so educational and she had the best attitude for dealing with trolls. Country talk at Pulse just won't be the same without her!

Today is just not starting out too well with this news for me. I'm so gutted over this and trying not to choke up. I don't think there are really any amount of words that could give true justice to what Dudley has actually done and contributed for this forum. This is also coming from someone who on a few instances didn't even agree with how she modded from to time, but even with that? I always had a high respect for her. She was an OG to say the least and it was abundantly clear that she was in essence a pillar of excellence in regards to Pulse. RIP Dudley. Her presence will be missed, but definitely not forgotten.

Even though me and Dudley have never spoken a word to each other...this is very sad news to hear! :( RIP Dudley!
From what I have heard from this thread, It seems as though I should've gotten to know Dudley and post more often in the country forum! (Which is what i'll likely be doing more now that I'm listening to country music more often!)
