Someone in Discord pointed this out: On the year-end Roddy has the #3 song of the year, the #3 album, and is the #3 artist of the year

- Kane Brown's 2 hits on the 2020 YE are directly next to each other (Be Like That at #88 and Homesick at #89) I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention that this is the second consecutive year that Kane Brown has a song at #89 on the YE (2019's was his Marshmello collab "One Thing Right").

Both the US Billboard YE and the Canadian YE feature a "Pop Smoke Sandwich", in which a different along was in the middle of 2 Pop Smoke songs (one is "Dior")
US: #81: Mood Swings (Pop Smoke f/ Lil Tjay) #82: You Should Be Sad (Halsey) #83: Dior (Pop Smoke)
Canada: #76: Dior (Pop Smoke) #77: THE SCOTTS (Travis Scott, Kid Cudi) #78: The Woo (Pop Smoke f/ 50 Cent, Roddy Ricch)
Also, "The Woo" is one of the songs that in the same position in both US and Canada YE (#78)

Saw this on Twitter, but I might as well mention it here:
Seรฑorita had the same exact Year-End positions across two years in 2019/2020 as Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down did in 2000/2001 (#15 in the first year, #44 in the second).

Since it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, besides this week, anyone name the last time two different versions of the same song were charting?

Right now there is a song in the Top 10 by an act who has hit the Hot 100 with versions of two other songs that right now are in the Top 10 in versions by other artists.
I don't know if it's the first time this has ever happened, but if so it's probably the first time since at least the 50's, when it was much more common for multiple versions of the same song to chart.

Oh - I TOTALLY forgot about the Glee songs! Probably something there.

Don't forget about Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree this week as well. I can't think of the last time but I do know some Glee covers and their original songs charted at the same time as well as American Idol had the same song by two contestants chart. I know there have been other more recent ones but can't recall the songs.

There were also the cases where Disney remade their big animated movie songs using big names in music at the time and both versions charted at the same time. The most recent example was both the Idina Menzel/AURORA and Panic! At The Disco versions of "Into The Unknown" from Frozen 2 charting together on December 7, 2019. But the more notable example from a few years ago was when two versions of "How Far I'll Go" from Moana (the movie version with Auli'l Cravalho and the pop version with Alessia Cara) charted at the same time for several months in late 2016 and early 2017.

Probably something there. โForget Youโ - Glee and Cee Lo versions??? There's that, which gave the original version a huge boost. That's what typically happened with Glee cover songs when the original song was already charting. Of course, there are examples of that show's singles allowing acts to debut the original single at the same time as the cover. Perhaps most notably, "We Are Young" by fun. ft. Janelle Monae debuted on the Hot 100 the exact same week that the Glee cover did (and IIRC the cover debuted in the top 20).

In fact, of the three artists who repeated at their most previous Year-End positions this year, only Lil Baby did it with two solo cuts. Kane Brown and Khalid were on collaborations with other artists at least one of those times.

And maybe even more notably, now that I think about it, from a few years before that: the Demi Lovato and Idina Menzel versions of "Let It Go" from (of course) "Frozen," where (I believe) both were in the top 40 simultaneously, but, I'm sure much to Disney's surprise, the movie version was a way, WAY bigger hit.

Saw this on Twitter, but I might as well mention it here: Seรฑorita had the same exact Year-End positions across two years in 2019/2020 as Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down did in 2000/2001 (#15 in the first year, #44 in the second). I got curious in songs that re-entered in the Billboard Hot 100 YE and another pair of songs share the same fate as Kryptonite/Senorita while watching YE videos. Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" in 2008/2009 and Lizzo's "Truth Hurts" in 2019/2020 share the exact Year-End positions between two years (#13 in the first, then #55 in the second). EDIT: I watched some more and another pair joins this feat, Usher/Alicia Keys' "My Boo" in 2004/2005 and Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)" in 2017/2018 (#24 in the first, #54 in the second)

I cannot believe Viva La Vida was such a Hot 100 smash and it didnโt even go top 10 on Top 40 radio. #12 peak! This was a time period (digital sales era) when Pop radio really dictated strong Hot 100 performance. Of the 11 songs above it on the 2008 Year End, 10 of them reached top 2 on Top 40 radio in comparison. In fact it was the ONLY song in the top 30 of 2008โs Year End that didnโt reach top 5 on the format.

There are currently hits in the Top 40 entitled Dynamite and Control. Back in the 1980s, two completely different songs with these titles were hits for siblings Jermaine and Janet Jackson. Quoting my own post here because I realized that the coincidence is even more noteworthy. In addition to the two songs mentioned above, there's also a current hit called Diamonds, which was also a Janet Jackson song (with Herb Alpert).
