Post some funny chart coincidences you saw.
Here is my favorite.
Both Ed Sheeran - Don't, and Hunter Hayes - Wanted, were 52 and 92 on Year End Charts for different years. That was funny.
Here is some other ones.
Akon had back to back Year End number 44s with Locked Up and Lonely in 04 and 05.
Ludacris has 3 songs Year End Number 77 in 2000s Decade, Southern Hospitality, Rollout, and Get Back.
Any other funny coincidences you guys have seen on charts?

The closest Active Rock has come to crossing over this decade has been Shinedown's "If You Only Knew" and Disturbed's "Sound of Silence" -- both #42 hits that peaked before a tragedy that led many songs up the chart (the Haiti earthquake and Prince's death).
Prince's "7" peaked at #7.
"Fight Song" and "Ex's and Oh's", both written by the same guy, both were successful primarily due to sales, and both didn't do too well on pop but were huge on Hot AC.
One-name capitalized North American reggae artist with a one-word European hit turned 6-week summer #1, but never saw the charts again? OMI or MAGIC!?
All of Charli XCX's top 40 hits hit the top 10.
A young singer from New Jersey who scored their first hit by singing on a hit by a big-but-not-massive artist's song that shot up to #1 very quickly -- Charlie Puth or Halsey?
Black world-music duo have a single top 40 hit -- Nico & Vinz or R. City?
"Uptown Funk" and "The Hanging Tree", hits by non-singers that only became hits because the featured vocalist was hugely famous.

There is a chart coincidence (mostly on the Hot 100) that tends to happen sometimes where a song's current position, last week position, peak, and weeks on chart number are the exact same.
Ed Sheeran's "Don't" did it, its stats were 17/17/17/17. He then did it again with "Photograph" which had 15/15/15/15. "Thinking Out Loud" also did it before... but with not the exact same numbers for all 4, but it did have similar numbers... 2/2/2/22. So basically, Ed Sheeran is the master at this, lol.
Demi Lovato's "Cool For The Summer" also did it with 11/11/11/11.
Oh, and gnash's "i hate u, i love u" (feat. olivia o'brien) almost did it this past week, but fell to #23 so it was 23/22/22/22.
(And those are just the past couple years. I'm sure there are more. I'm also sure there are some from the past couple years that I missed.)

Two of my favorite chart coincidences are from the 80s:
-Billy Ocean had three #1 singles. All three had eight words in the title: "Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)", "There'll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)", and "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car". None of his other chart hits had 8 words in the title, and when he released a song with 9 words ("When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going")...it peaked at number two.
-In 1987, Tiffany and Billy Idol had back to back #1 hits with "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Mony, Mony". Amazingly, both songs were covers from the same artist, 60s act Tommy James & The Shondells. Tommy James & The Shondells had 2 number one hits of their own in the 60s, but neither song was "I Think We're Alone Now" or "Mony, Mony". They hit #1 with "Hanky Panky" and "Crimson And Clover".
And one from the 90s, that is more by design than coincidence but is still impressive:
-Mariah Carey had a number one single at the end of September/beginning of October every other year in the 90s. She was at number one at some point in those months in 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, and 1999. Her #1s were like clockwork back then.

Aside her only top 10 hit, the no.3 Hot 100, peaking I Wanna Love You Forever, Jessica Simpson's 2nd biggest hits all peaked at no.14 Hot 100 (With You, These Boots, A Public Affair)
Mariah had 2 consecutive no.100 peaking Hot 100 hits in 2010 with Up Out My Face and Oh Santa. A record I guess

Martin Garrix's "Animals" also had 26/26/26/26 "Love the Way You Lie" also had 2/2/2/2 IIRC The 2/2/2/2 achievement is actually fairly common. Mariah Carey did it with two songs (another coincidence in itself!) with Always Be My Baby and My All, and The Black Eyed Peas did it with I Gotta Feeling and Fall Out Boy with This Ain't A Scene, It's an Arms Race (there's probably others as well....) Maroon 5 also did this with Payphone, which spent its first 3 weeks at no. 3. It's also interesting when different songs with the same title become hits within the same year, like Christina Aguilera and Snoop Dogg with Beautiful in 2003, and Mariah Carey and Gavin Degraw with We Belong Together in '05 (Gavin Degraw's version wasn't very big actually, but it was notable because of course Mariah's version was the biggest song of that year). It's also interesting to see when songs spend many weeks at one position, besides the obvious high up positions like nos. 1-5. Some examples: Kelly Clarkson's Behind These Hazel Eyes spending 7 weeks at #7, six of them consecutive. Mariah's Obsessed spending 6 weeks at #11 Whitney Houston's Run to You spending 5 consecutive weeks at #31 Another interesting case is Dianna Ross's Muscles, which after spending 6 consecutive weeks at #10, dropped all the way to #41 and then spent 3 consecutive weeks there! (something screwy though might have been going on with the charts then rather than that to have been a real coincidence).

The best "different song/same name" coincidence was in 1990. The week of June 30, En Vogue were at no. 6 with their debut single "Hold On", while Wilson Phillips were one spot higher at no. 5 with their debut single "Hold On".

The 2015 Year-End list has a lot of hilarious coincidental patterns:
Two songs that didn't go Top 10 but were big enough to make the Year-End Top 25 were seen next to each other ("Worth It" at #23 and "Post To Be" at #24).
Two of The Weeknd's hits charted next to each other, although he could of had three had OMI not jacked up his pattern.
Three of Meghan Trainor's songs all charted in one row.
Two songs with explicit titles charted next to each other (Bitch Better Have My Money and I Don't f**k With You).
Two artists with the "ILove" stage names were also seen charting next to each other ("Tuesday" by ILoveMakonnen and "Hit The Quan" by ILoveMemphis).
Honey I'm Good, I'm Not The Only One and Good For You charted next to each other.
Was I the first to realize this lmao.

Oh my God, I love these coincidences so much. Anyway... - Back in early 2011, there were three songs in the Top 10 that had the F-word in their title: Cee Lo Green's "F*** You", Pink's "F***in' Perfect", and Enrique Iglesias's "Tonight (I'm F***in' You)".
- Of the three Flo Rida songs that reached #1, two of which ("Right Round" and "Whistle") are about blowing.
- In 2001, two songs with "You/U Remind Me" in their titles reached #1: Usher's "U Remind Me" and Nickelback's "How You Remind Me", both of which were #1 for 4 weeks. Granted, the last two weeks in which Nickelback's song were #1 was in 2002, but still.
- The two biggest hits from OneRepublic, "Apologize" and "Counting Stars", peaked at #2 and were in the Top 10 for 25 weeks. Also, both of their Top 10 runs were split between two years (2007-2008 for "Apologize" and 2013-2014 for "Counting Stars") and they both landed at #5 on the Year-End lists for 2008 and 2014 respectively.

Golden Bluebird How is Right Round about blowing? It's about this stripper that drives Flo out of control and makes his head spin right round; it's not about oral sex unlike Whistle.

"when you go down" I mean, it can definitely be interpreted as such. Also, one of the co-writers of the song (Bruno Mars of all people) confirmed that the chorus is indeed about oral sex. I'm not really sure if you would consider this a coincidence but the chart ending October 1st 2016:
#45 Lukas Graham - 7 Years #46 Lukas Graham - Mama Said
#93 DJ Drama Featuring Chris Brown, Skeme & Lyquin - Wishing #94 Chris Brown - Grass Ain't Greener #95 DJ Khaled Featuring Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown & August Alsina - Do You Mind

and I only just noticed this one XD:
#82 I LOVE MAKONNEN feat. Drake - Tuesday #83 iLoveMemphis - Hit the Quan

Disturbed's "The Sound Of Silence" and Rascal Flatts' "I Like The Sound Of That" were once charting next to each other on the Hot 100.
Also, these three songs were seen charting next to each other at one point:
Bryson Tiller - Don't The Chainsmokers - Don't Let Me Down Yo Gotti - Down in the DM

"Oui" and "No" were in the Top 20 at the same time this year.
Been going through the 1986 weekly charts. For a couple weeks "Is This Love?", "I Think It's Love" and "Why Can't This Be Love?" were charting at the same time.

One of the first times I can remember 4 straight numbers across the columns on the Hot 100 was for the week ending April 5, 1986. "Beat's So Lonely" by Charlie Sexton was 17-17-17-17. Can anybody come up with an earlier example???

I still remember Billboard saying in 1989 that we started the decade with Eddie Rabbitt and ended it with Jive Bunny.
