Here's a YE coincidence that could've happened in the right circumstances:
Every YE #98 in the decade so far are songs that are not on the final predictions, which meant these songs sneaked in
2020: Moneybagg Yo - "Said Sum" (predicted at #103) 2021: Rauw Alejandro - "Todo De Ti" (predicted at #101) 2022: Sam Smith, Kim Petras - "Unholy" (predicted at #101)
The problem that threw this possibility off? "Todo De Ti" ended up at #100 instead of #98

The YE #1 in the US and Canadian YE Hot 100 contrast in temperature:
US: Heat Waves Canada: Cold Heart
Both are re-entries from last year's YE, and with "Cold Heart" getting the YE #1, Dua Lipa manages to get back-to-back YE #1's in the Canadian Hot 100

Not sure where to post this, but in light of the FIFA World Cup it’d be cool to see if we can manage to get the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to #1 when CAN/USA/MEX host it. I remember Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) hit #1 in several countries, including Spain who were champions that year.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this
Big Energy by Latto was #7 on the 2022 year end list, and Fantasy by Mariah Carey, the song it samples, was #7 on the 1994 year end list
Super Freaky Girl by Nicki Minaj was also close to being the same position as U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer, (#56 & #55 respectively)

Strange to think of those samples being bigger hits than the original songs/equally big hits

Tim McGraw's "Grown Men Don't Cry" (2001) and Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" (re-entry in 2008) happens to have the same Year-End position (#78)

"Kiss Kiss" and "Go Crazy" are two Chris Brown songs that are #19 in their second Billboard Hot 100 YE appearance, and inverted digits with their first (Kiss Kiss is #93, Go Crazy is #39)

Strange to think of those samples being bigger hits than the original songs/equally big hits Technically if we compare the 2022 YE to the OG songs in their respective YE then points wise those originals are still bigger. But it still is something that some of the heavily sampled songs are higher than their OG’s on paper.

Here's a weird and random one that I found, there are four famous When You're Gones that are all pop rock songs and three of them are by Canadian artists, Avril Lavigne, Bryan Adams and Shawn Mendes.
ETA: The ones by Adams and Lavigne both peaked at 3 in the UK and 4 in Australia.

Three songs from the 2022 Billboard Hot 100 Year-End had the same position as in the Official Charts' End of Year Singles chart: #5 Shivers, #17 ABCDEFU and #38 Break My Soul.
Also, Ed Sheeran managed to have three songs in back to back to back positions in the latter: #49 2Step, #50 Perfect and #51 Overpass Graffiti.

When the Supremes hit #1 with "The Happening" there was a group called The Happenings that had a song at #4 that same week. On a similar note, I just realized when I was posting the #29 1960s poll that "See You in September" by The Happenings was the #29 year-end song on the revised 1966 Billboard Hot 100, and the very next year, "The Happening" by The Supremes made #29 on the year-end Billboard Hot 100 for 1967.

In this week's Hot 100, a song titled Coco Chanel debuted at #87, right above a song by Coco Jones, that also debuted at #88. Also, for a second straight week two Morgan Wallen songs sandwich a song by a female artist, all of which contain a word in common, "You": I Thought You Should Know at #11, All of the Girls You Loved Before at #12 and You Proof at #13. Finally, I'm Good (Blue) is at #16, right above Lavender Haze at #17.
