California Dreamin' and Hold On are next to each other on this week's Digital Song Sales. The former is by The Mamas & The Papas while the latter is by Wilson Phillips. China Phillips is a member of the latter and is the daughter of John & Michelle Phillips, who were members of the former.

Mike Posner, who went to Duke University, had 3 big hits - all occurring in years when his alma mater won the Men's basketball National Championship. His first two, Cooler Than Me and Please Don't Go, were released in 2010, when Duke won its 4th title. His third, I Took a Pill in Ibiza, was released in 2015, when Duke won its 5th title.

I don't think songs having one word in common should be a funny chart coincidence anymore

-In 1987, Tiffany and Billy Idol had back to back #1 hits with "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Mony, Mony". Amazingly, both songs were covers from the same artist, 60s act Tommy James & The Shondells. Tommy James & The Shondells had 2 number one hits of their own in the 60s, but neither song was "I Think We're Alone Now" or "Mony, Mony". They hit #1 with "Hanky Panky" and "Crimson And Clover". This is super random and a favorite 'coincidence' of mine. Additionally they finished right next to one another on year-end Hot 100 for 1987; "ITWAN" at #18 and "MM" at #19. I also think it's interesting Joan Jett had a top 10 with her cover of "Crimson And Clover." Maybe someone will cover "Crystal Blue Persuasion" to get yet another song of theirs top 10 a second time.

Ha ha yeah! And while it was a totally different song, Madonna reached number ten with "Hanky Panky" lol

Malo sampled CBP in his 1972 song Suavecito, which went to #18 on the Hot 100. I think that's as high as we're going to get with someone covering/sampling CBP.

2 major coincidences on today's UK Singles chart:
- Both of Olivia Rodrigo's charting singles are directly next to each other (Deja Vu debuting at #27, Drivers License at #28).
- Little Bit of Love by Tom Grennan: #10 this week, #10 last week, #10 peak, 10 weeks on the chart.

The Olivia Rodrigo thing can be made even more impressive when you realize that those are the first two songs that Olivia Rodrigo released. Sabrina and Joshua could never.

Technically, she also had All I Want, which did chart in the UK around the time DL was released. But DL and DV are the first two promoted singles off her upcoming album, so I see where you’re coming from.

If you follow the Billboard Hot 100 and the Rolling Stone Top 100, you know how different these charts can be. However, what they've been extremely similar on are where Dua Lipa's "Levitating" featuring DaBaby charted on both charts as it has been sitting at #7 for 4 consecutive weeks from the weeks dated March 27 to April 17, 2021 on Billboard or March 18 to April 8, 2021 on Rolling Stone.

^Not to mention the song is on its third week charting. Which happens to be the common factor of the multiples mentioned.

Both of Olivia Rodrigo's singles are directly next to each other at the exact same positions on both the US and Canadian Hot 100s this week (Drivers License at #10, Deja Vu at #11).
