Gucci Gang needs to hit number one before the end of the year to keep a long-standing trend going: The first act born in the 70s to have a number one song was Tiffany in 1987. The first born in the 80s was Hanson, who had a number one song in 1997. The first born in the 90s was Sean Kingston who hit number one in...2007. So we need the first act born in the 2000s to have a number one hit be this year! was this post removed are somethin? can't find it anywhere

One artist has his/her 2nd biggest single of their album in the top 50 right now while his/her lead single of that album peaked in the top 50 and no other single of their album did as well and their last top 10 hit was 2-3 years ago. Chris Brown or Bebe Rexha?

Also, Cee-Lo is technically a one-hit wonder three times: With the Goodie Mob ("Cell Therapy"), Gnarls Barkley ("Crazy"), and on his own ("F**k You") he had only one top 40 hit. Everlast from House of Pain was a one-hit wonder twice with "What It's Like" and "Jump Around", respectively. Actually Ceelo was on Sugar (Gimme Some)by Trick Daddy that peaked at 20

Here's another from the "Same Name" category...
In 1995, both Edwyn Collins and Edwin McCain has their first top 40 hits at the same time. Unless I'm forgetting something, the only other Edwin to ever chart before or since was Edwin Starr in the early 1970's.

Here's a coincidence based on the YE #1 of 2015, 2016, and 2017.
If you subtract the weeks at #1 Uptown Funk has with the week at #1 of Love Yourself's, then the difference would be the weeks Shape of You had at #1.

Let Me Love You was held back from repeating its previous Year-End position by Sorry Not Sorry on the 2017 YE Hot 100 chart.
so I guess SNS is "sorry not sorry" for preventing LMLY from making history, amirite? heh

What happened to the YE Top 5 this year was the same scenario as last year's YE Top 5. The final prediction has the entire Top 5 in 2016 and 2017 occupied by songs that all peaked at #1. When the official list came out, the Top 4 remained the same place as the final prediction, whereas the #5 in the final prediction ended up #6 in the official one and a song outside the YE Top 5 but in the YE Top 10 in the final prediction that didn't peak at #1 but peaked in the Top 3 ended up in the spot originally for #6. Also, the #5 in the official one both feature a rock artist.

Another between last year and this year's YE coincidence.
I noticed that the #15 of US Billboard YE Hot 100 of 2016 and 2017 are the #5 in the Canadian YE Hot 100.

The year-end position of both songs named "Stay" in the past five years was their Hot 100 peak plus 10. (Stay by Rihanna peaked at #3, year-end #13, Stay by Zedd/Alessia Cara peaked at #7, year-end #17)

This is more of a personal chart coincidence (though I'm pretty sure many of you have the same feelings as me when listening to this song), "Praying" is next to "Goosebumps" on the 2017 Year-End list (at #67 and #68 respectively). The song title for that Travis Scott song is a feeling I get when I listen to the Kesha song.

^Official Charts (I do not know what the extra "C" stands for unless it means plural, since the particular chart in question is called the "Singles Chart")

Despacito, the longest running number one song of 2017, and TWIL, the shortest running number one song of 2017, both spent 19 weeks in the top 3.
There are 19 weeks between when TWIL was number one and when Despacito hit #3 for the last time.

^Also, those songs ended #28 and #29, respectively, in the 1985 Year-End Hot 100. Coincidentally, they were bookended by the songs at #27 and #30, Miami Vice Theme and You Belong to the City, which were both from the Miami Vice TV series.
