On the original year-end chart for 1963, a song called "Blue on Blue" (Bobby Vinton) was #42. The very next year in 1964, "White on White" by Danny Williams made #42 on the year-end list.

On the Billboard 1964 year-end chart, the #59 song was The Bachelor's "Diane." Right above it was a song by an artist named Diane ("Navy Blue" by Diane Renay).

"Peaches," a song from an Illumination movie, debuts on the Hot 100 the same week as a song called "Happy," which was previously also a song from an Illumination movie.

โEarned Itโ by the Weeknd, despite being a massive #3 hit, had never been the highest ranking movie soundtrack song on the Hot 100 at any point in its chart run. The Hanging Tree was higher on the chart for its first few weeks before Love Me Like You Do was released. Then of course LMLYD started smashing, and the week EI finally overtook it was the same week See You Again reached #1.

Fall 2013 and Fall 2014 had eerie similarities
The two biggest songs of the season were the latest lead single of a female pop superstar (Roar, Shake it Off) and a breakout hit for a female newcomer (Royals, All About that Bass). The third biggest song was a sexualized viral meme song by a big name (Wrecking Ball, Anaconda) and the fourth biggest was by a Swedish act (Wake Me Up, Habits).

On the Billboard Hot 100 for September 14, 1963, two very similarly titled songs bookended the chart. The #1 song was "My Boyfriend's Back" (The Angels), whereas the #100 song was "Your Boyfriend's Back" (Bobby Comstock and the Counts). www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/1963-09-14/

On the Hot 100 chart dated January 1, 2005, 2 songs technically by the same name were next to each other. Numb/Encore by Jay Z and Linkin Park was at 24 while Encore by Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr Dre was at 25. A bonus to include is that both songs each only had 3 vocalists. www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/2005-01-01/

Why do we have songs named PRC, AMG, and TQG, charting at the same time right now?? All latin songs, next we might have atg , what trend is this? And then there is also ICU by someone named Coco Jones. I can even go further and be like, and a popular artist in 2023 is named SZA.

That one's actually just a coincidence, they all mean different things. Polvo, Ruedas, Cristal ("powder, wheels, and crystal" as in drug trafficking) AMG (literally just the name of a car manufacturer) Te Quedรณ Grande (It's a pun, TQ M is the Spanish version of ILY, a universal abbreviation for texts and online speak that means "te quiero mucho" or "I love you" but they turned it into TQ G for "te quedรณ grande" which basically means "I was too much for you") But maybe you're onto something with it being a trend in Mexican music cuz two of those songs are Mexican and there was another hit from there called JGL just a few months ago.

Rich Flex has gotten the same positions in the Hot 100 and Canadian Hot 100 the last two weeks: 48 and 50.
Additionally, in the Canadian Hot 100, Karma and Cruel Summer are next to each other this week at #62 and #63, respectively.

On this week's Hot 100, the 3 longest charting songs (You Proof, Something In The Orange, and As It Was) are back-to-back-to-back on the Hot 100. And the amount of weeks each song has (53, 56, and 59 respectively) increases the lower their positions are.

Godโs Plan and Old Town Road were both #1 on the Billboard year-end, #1 on the Streaming Songs year-end, but only 28 on the Pop Radio year end for their respective chart years. (Credit to RoseColoredGirl for the Pop Radio year-end info due to her ongoing poll series)

Sunflower re-entered this week's ARIA Singles chart at #39, right below Annihilate at #38. Both songs have Swae Lee and come from the two animated Spiderman movie soundtracks.

Listening to classic AT40 this past weekend reminded me of one of my all-time favorite chart coincidences. When Genesis debuted in the top 40 with Invisible Touch, four other songs on the chart featured present or past members of the band in some capacity.

It earns YoungBoy his 99th career entry okay i know this isn't a chart coincidence but like. nba youngboy has 99 chart entries ? how ?? i would've guessed he had 20 or 30 something, the fact that he has only a quarter less entires then nicki really puts that in perspective for me

On the pop radio charts for Mediabase, "Make Me" by Britney Spears was #88 on the year-end chart for 2016, and on the following year-end chart in 2017, "Make Me (Cry)" by Noah Cyrus took the #88 spot.

This may or may not count as a coincidence, but on this week's UK chart it's like it's 1988 again with back-to-back Kylie Minogue at #10 with "Padum Padum" and Madonna (with the Weeknd and Playboy Cardi) at #11 with "Popular." Pretty amazing for the UK top 11 to include two female artists over 55, let alone the two female artists with the most top tens on the UK chart!
