Sucks she is not playing Day 1 of ACL. That is all I have patience for. I've seen her in a small club setting though, so I am good.

Such a fun and fresh sound for her at the time! You really couldn’t escape that song either, I remember her opening the MTV Movie Awards with it. Loved the video for it as well.
I remember being on such a high with her singles from There You Go through to Lady Marmalade and then this, Don’t Let Me Get Me and Just Like a Pill, it wasn’t until Feel Good Time hit that I was disappointed. Thank God for I’m Not Dead reviving her and my love for her.
Sorry, kids. I’m not big on Try This, although I would appreciate an album like that these days from her.

I rediscovered Try This when I was the same age as when she wrote and recorded it (23) and it hit a lot better than it did at the time. "Trouble" being a flop has always been surprising to me though. I thought it was a bona fide hit from the first time I heard it and then it bombed. |

My problem with 'Try This' is that the quality of it is not up to par with her other albums. It could just be me but I feel like a lot of the instrumentals are very muffled and it just feels more demo-like than a released studio album.

At least she got her first solo Grammy for "Trouble." I do like "Trouble" but the "Try This" album was a letdown for sure! I reckon it was a step back, sonically and lyrically. It felt somewhat generic to me. I'm glad she returned with "I'm Not Dead" in 2006.

I know the album was t everyone’s cup of tea, but the album gave her last smash hit - What About Us. There were only a couple songs I didn’t love, but overall I did enjoy it, and her vocals.

I saw her live for the very first time last Saturday at ACL in Austin!! She was fantastic! So talented! So charismatic! Loved the show!
