That's something I've seen discussed before. Post M!ssundaztood/Try This she seemed to hit a sweet spot where she's been huge but not overexposed so she didn't suffer the backlashes that normally come with that level of success.

Out of curiosity, who in their 40s that’s been around for 20 years is still getting hits on pop? LMA has been #1 on iTunes for the past 10 hours and is still steadily gaining. It has Billie down to 73%. I know digital sales are dead and this equated to just a few thousand copies sold, but it's still great to see P!nk dominating on a chart!

I can go along w a lot of these cuts but the disrespect to CMWIS...that is one of the best songs of her career. Also I Don’t Believe You? actually nevermind, I cant go along w a lot of this? Lol

CMWIS is the only song I skip on TT. I would like it more if it were several minutes shorter and not right before "Waiting for Love."
Also, I always found "I Don't Believe You" to be the inferior cousin to "Nobody Knows" on I'm Not Dead.

I revisited Try This today and realized just how important and influential this album was to my late teenage years. For me, this is hands down P!nk at her most adventurous. It’s an album that I think needs rediscovering to truly appreciate how out of the box it truly is. I think I can safely say - personally - it’s her best album.

As for M!ss - Dear Diary and Gone To California, I love both but those are definitely the sleepier tracks on the album, but the only songs I’d cut from that album is Respect and the title track. Catch Me While I’m Sleeping? How dare you. LoL I agree about I’m Not Dead, but I Have Seen The Rain is her Dad’s own song, so I could never. I Don’t Believe you and Mean used to by two of my favs, but Mean didn’t age well. I concur completely about TTAL, King Is Dead is my least fav. But you forgot Timebomb which is a great song. Only bad track on Beautiful Trauma is Revenge. And only bad songs on Hurts 2B Human are Circle Game and Last Song Of Your Life.
Edit: forgot about Funhouse. One Foot Wrong is TERRIBLE. Funhouse is also bad. Probably my least favorite album of hers, but it also has some of my favs/gems.

"Timebomb" isn't on my streaming service :( I think "Fingers" and "Centerfold" were my favorite discoveries, since I only had the standard IND at the time. EDIT: and "Why Did I Ever Like You?" Also "Heartbreak Down" didn't hold up well from GH. Also, someone actually made their own list using my post in the Alanis thread, so feel free to copy and paste for P!nk in here! EDIT: Due to public outcry, I have re-listed to "Catch Me While I'm Sleeping" without distraction and have rescinded my removal, making Try This her most perfect album, with no removals from me. I'm sorry what? Those vocals on Stop Falling are what made me a fan. Yeah, cutting this was one of the weirdest choices I have ever seen here, even by Pulse standards. Also, For Now is one of my Top 10 P!nk songs and definitely the best song on BT, so not sure why it would be cut. One Foot Wrong is better than half the album and better than pretty much ALL of the standard edition of TTAL except for the singles. And...I Don't Believe You cut? That is EASILY Top 5 of P!nk songs. Y'all are WEIRD. |

But yes, her vocals are awesome on the whole album. *** One Foot Wrong is better than half the album and TTAL album tracks!? I just chocked on my dinner. IMO one of the worst songs of her career. Even the s**t was cut from her set list/DVD and was added as an extra lol Watch who you’re calling weird. ;) But I definitely agree with For Now, that should have been a single and easily one of her best songs and one of the best from the album. |
