If you didn't get just a PM from me about testing the new version of the site and you want to, please contact me or like this post and I'll add you to the group PM that got it.

Kurt Hello! I definitely enjoyed the revamp of Crownnote, I can now see how many weeks at #1 the song had and the format was more smooth and better than the original. Though, using the advanced add song feature got me some minor troubles on using, and editing the chart would lead to claiming that I cannot save the same chart twice.

Let me know if you have any issues with this after today—I'll be pushing up a couple fixes to it tonight, so hopefully that will resolve them.

I tried creating a chart twice this morning and it got erased. :(
One of the times it timed out when I submitted and erased everything. The other time I was using the advanced add song feature and it erased everything except for two entries.
Are there plans to re-add the option to add more than one entry at a time (+38 for example)? In the old version, I could add all positions at once but in this one you need to add the entries one at a time.

Hmm, interesting—I'll hopefully be tuning up performance this weekend, so we can see next week if that still happens; I do see your (currently unpublished) chart here, though maybe that got added after the two erasures you mentioned. Yep, I'm planning to add that feature back as soon as I can—the way I did it before isn't supported with the new version of the backend software, so I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild it. That's next on the priority list after performance issues.

I should note that you couldn't until a couple days ago—now, they show up (noted as "unpublished") in the list of charts on your profile, and only you can see them until you publish them.

Hey Kurt, a bunch of artwork for songs I added got removed, and at least one album got removed as well (The songs are still there but the album got removed). Will I have to re-add them all or will they come back at some point?

Will I have to re-add them all or will they come back at some point? I still need to look into that to figure out whether or not there's a pattern to what albums and artwork got removed, in which case I may be able to migrate them back in. I know several users who've asked that question have ended up just re-adding things on their own so they aren't waiting on me.

Hey Kurt . There's an error whenever I'm trying to upload CSV files. What's the error message, if you still have it or see it again? It worked for me on Sunday night, but I also pushed several changes up yesterday (none that should have directly affected CSV uploads, but perhaps indirectly). EDIT: If it starts like Integrity constraint violation: 1062 Duplicate entry '######' for key 'PRIMARY': , try using a new Chart ID in both your chart and your spreadsheet, then reimport.

KurtEver since the site update, I have not been able to import new charts from my spreadsheet. Changing the format of my Chart ID does not help. This is the error I'm getting An error occurred while migrating Import chart items from a CSV onto an existing Chart. Please continue to the error page
An AJAX HTTP error occurred. HTTP Result Code: 500 Debugging information follows. Path: /batch?id=689&op=do_nojs&op=do StatusText: error ResponseText: The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later. I've also noticed several old charts have reintroduced duplicate songs I thought I had edited out of them. Since leaderboards are down, I can't look for these errors to fix them, so I've only found these by chance. Examples:

Sounds like something may be wrong there, since other imports have been working. Incorrect versions of songs came as a result of the migration and eventually I'll be building a tool to help people clean those up.

The issue that happens when deleting a chart, then creating a new one with the same Chart ID (it's what Exclusive ran into above) should now be fixed; you can delete a chart and then freely use its Chart ID again on a new one. Also cleaned up CSV imports so that if a song has multiple main/featured artists (like I've been seeing on the Crown 100 lately with the Ed Sheeran-assisted version of "Peru"), it should pick the correct song when importing chart items now. Some minor error handling and cleanup to chart replication and users' Number Ones pages as well, hopefully paving the way for me to dig back into speeding up Leaderboards in the coming evenings/weekend. Edit: Oh, and dropouts are included in plain-text charts now too. (All of that chart data should load more quickly and reliably as of Sunday night.)

Hello Kurt I would like to know when would the Leaderboard be accessible? Hi! This question has been ramping up in frequency, so I should just do a news post on the site about this, but: I'm still working on it, but don't have an ETA on when it will be back yet. Part of that is just due to my availability (paid work comes first, relegating Crownnote time to late evenings and weekends), but the other part is that while I have (and have had) Leaderboards working, they're just too slow to run reliably on the production servers. I've been exploring alternate ways to pull that data, and have another lead I'm hoping to dig into more this weekend.

Hello Kurt So I was setting up some charts retroactively a few days back and after a while of doing that, all of a sudden any chart I created would revert to a specific chart from 2015. I tried deleting that specific chart to see if that was the problem but it would just revert to the following week instead. Just now when I tried to replicate my latest chart, it brought me to the Edit page for my 10/05/2015 chart. I’m not sure what I can do to fix it.

Might be something with the URLs—can you DM me any links to charts you can get to (mostly so I remember next time I'm on my computer)?

Kurt upon checking my Leaderboards from the past years, some songs had lower points from what I remember, then songs that have multiple versions were separated in points (e.g. my 2021 Leaderboard for "Levitating" was featured twice, one being solo and the other being the DaBaby version when I went mostly with the solo version)

That said, I know the migration/relaunch resulted in some people getting incorrect versions of some songs in their chart history (e.g. I believe I have some weeks that include the DaBaby remix, and I never actually charted it); I'm soon turning my attention toward a tool to help folks adjust those.

Finally getting back into uploading again, currently working on 2016's backlog at the moment. I love, love, love, love how the site highlights your data on artist pages now! Amazing!
Although it seems to now have problem with the way artists are labeled when uploading from CSV. I didn't used to have this problem before. I have my spreadsheets set up to resemble Spotify's tagging, which is sometimes different than what Crownnote may have and in the past it would just automatically set it to what Crownnote has when uploading, but now it creates a new entry when they differ. Not so much of a problem since I can just go in and edit the chart to get the correct tracks, but just a tad first world problem annoying lol.
For example, in my spreadsheet, Rihanna's "Work" is labeled as Artist: Rihanna; Drake Featured Artist: [blank] Track: Work and this gives the slug rihanna-drake-work, which matches the Crownnote entry Rihanna ft. Drake - "Work"
Well now it sees Rihanna & Drake and Rihanna ft. Drake as two separate entries when before it wouldn't and automatically adjusts my slug to rihanna-drake-work-0 or something similar. Just a minute annoyance lol.

I have a week off in November and am contemplating seeing if I can connect all songs to their Spotify and Last.fm equivalents, thus allowing you to prevent this from even happening and letting folks actually create charts based on that data, rather than just having those as exportable data. :eyes emoji: No promises though—I could very well just lay on the couch all week lmao.

Kurt, my 2015 leaderboard has stopped updating. Not sure when it happened or if other boards are impacted, but I’ve been adding my 2015 charts and noticed the glitch. Looking at Style by Taylor Swift for example, it shows just over 41,000 points despite 22 weeks on the chart and 3 weeks at number one. Just with those two criteria it should be well over 50000, likely close to 80 or so.
Not sure if it’s related, but I’m also getting a lot of “application timed out” when I try to save. It saves, but I have to go out of the site and come back in to see it.
**update: seems all working now. Maybe they just update once a week???
