It hasn't been publicly said, but Dierks isn't overly fond of Sideways and 5150. Mary Hilliard Harrington, his manager, also recently revealed the following: "I can't keep my mouth shut. If I think something sucks, or if I really love something, I have to say it. Dierks didn't love "Drunk on a Plane," and he didn't want to cut "Somewhere on a Beach." I'm not taking credit for those songs, because he took them and made them his, but they were definitely on the fringe of making the record or not, and it was eating me up inside. So I had to put on a full-on assault."

I think it is more Chris Stapleton wants to promote album tracks. I respect that greatly and it is something I wish other artists would do as I wish the artists and fans had a greater appreciation for the album tracks. It's why I respect acts like Chris Stapleton and Eric Church greatly and when I saw Cassadee Pope this summer I was surprised more than anything when she did songs like "11" instead of "I Am Invincible". I think she only performs "I Am Invincible" in really special occasions. For example, she played a show in the spring for the Nebraska Special Olympics athletes and it was on the setlist. I don't think she dislikes it but I do kinda get the feeling that she just wants to let that song completely die, and I don't really blame her. I would definitely be way happier to hear "11" live than "I Am Invincible." I saw her in June at just a random show she was doing and I Am Invincible was on the set list. I haven't gotten the notion she is trying to let it die, but I have only seen her once. I am a little salty towards I Am Invincible because that was a weak lead single (or supposed to be lead single) from her sophomore album that has yet to see the light of day. She had much better songs that would've done better. The name of the song actually annoys me a little as well since the lyric is "I'm invincible" not "I am invincible". :kii:

She must have put it back on the setlist this year, then. She didn't sing it at all for like a year because, according to some of her interviews, it's a vocally draining song to sing. And I agree, it was a poor choice for a single. It totally killed the little bit of buzz she had left, imo.

David Nail mentioned to me recently that he hates his debut single, “Memphis.”

I remember reading an interview with Faith Hill on the GAC (Great American Country) website many years ago where she admitted she didn’t like listening to her older albums because all she could hear were “mistakes.”

Scotty McCreery never said he disliked his debut album, but he has said a few times fairly recently that he was only 17 and didn’t really know what he was doing. He just did what people told him to do and said he didn’t know what kind of country artist he wanted to be.

Shenandoah said on The Bobby Bones Show that they thought their debut single, “They Don’t Make Love Like We Used To”, was terrible lol.
