MAG!C☆PRINCE #1 for seventh week with "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai", as "Koiwoshiyo JAPAN" debuts at #2.The idol collaboration debuts at #2 in a mostly inactive Top 10.MAG!C☆PRINCE continues to lead, but this time, their lead is narrow, with only a 1,000 point over the #2. The collaboration between MAG!C☆PRINCE, Nine Stars, and Hi☆Five, "Koiwoshiyo JAPAN", is a new challenger, manages to debut at #2 with 15,000 points. As MAG!C☆PRINCE is on the song, they've effectively blocked themselves from earning their third #1 on the chart. "Koiwoshiyo JAPAN" is the fourth song to lose out the #1 to "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai", following "You Need to Calm Down" by Taylor Swift, "Ichirinsou" by Sayaka Yamamoto, and "God's Country" by Blake Shelton. The rest, is pretty standard. "God's Country" falls 2-3, "Natsukare☆Vacation" by SUPER☆GiRLS goes 3-4, and Poppin'Party's "Dreamers Go!" goes 4-5, despite a slight gain in performance. Rising 7-6 is the only Top 10 song to hit a new peak, that being "The Git Up" by Blanco Brown, as the rest take losses. Taylor Swift's "You Need to Calm Down" down 6-7, Sayaka Yamamoto's "Ichirinsou" taking a decent drop, going 5-8, and "Lalala" by Y2K and bbno$, as well as "Must Have Been The Wind" by Alec Benjamin, taking one spot dips, dropping 8-9 and 9-10 respectively. This week marks the first week the Top 3 songs all have over 10,000 points. We see debuts from Mason Ramsey, Alec Benjamin, NF, and Whitney Woerz. Looking to next week, we should see a fifth blocked song with Pentatonix's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". LW TW WK Artist Song PK Points 01 01 07 MAG!C☆PRINCE – “Gomen.. Nice to see a chart with some K-pop in it again. My Top 10 is relatively diverse I've noticed. I got Latin, J-pop, country, hip-hop, and K-pop (and should have a rock song in there next week courtesy of BABYMETAL). But yeah, K-pop isn't super common on my chart, but it does show up now and then. I'm more a J-pop listener as you can tell.

I didn't think it'd fit with the cute aesthetic the band usually goes for, but that rock edge and that heavy guitar actually works for them. Oh, and I knew about Band-Maid already, but I didn't know they put out a new track. Thanks!

Niall Horan debuts at #1 with "Nice to Meet Ya"The Irish singer earns his second #1.Irish singer Niall Horan debuts at #1 with "Nice to Meet Ya". This is his second #1 debut following "Slow Hands", and his third #1 overall, as "This Town" spent three weeks at #1. He is to date, still the only former One Direction member to hit #1 (Harry Styles peaked at #2 with "Sign of the Times"). The four week topping collaboration of "No Perdamos Más Tiempo" falls 1-2, and "Lost" by End of the World featuring Clean Bandit loses 2-3. MAG!C☆PRINCE's record-holding 12 week #1 "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai" still remains at #4. It now ties "This Town" and "Chotto Yatte Mita Dake" for fourth most weeks in the Top 10 (19). ReoNa's "forget-me-not" rises 6-5 for a new peak, while "Koiwoshiyo JAPAN" by 14 STARS, and "Remember You Young" by Thomas Rhett fall 3-6 and 5-7 respectively. "Lalala" by Y2K & bbno$ holds at #8, and Kizuna AI's "Sky High" falls 7-9. Finally, making an entry into the Top 10 is Nogizaka46's "Yoakemade Tsuyogaranakutemoii". The J-pop track rises 11-10, earning the group their second Top 10. This week sees a relatively slow week debuts, with Japanese K-pop group Honey Popcorn and Carly Rae Jepsen being the only debuts. Next week, expect Harry Styles to debut his new track, but to be heavily overshadowed by a BABYMETAL album bomb. BABYMETAL is #1 with "Distortion", and charts entire album in Top 50.The J-pop/rock group charts six songs in the Top 10.BABYMETAL has a huge impact on the chart this week. Firstly, "Distortion" re-enters at #1, for its first week at the top. This is the first time a song has re-entered at #1, and the second rock song to go to #1 in 2019. This pushes "Nice to Meet Ya" by Niall Horan and "No Perdamos Más Tiempo" by Drake Bell & Jorge Blanco down 1-2 and 2-3 respectively. BABYMETAL's other songs in the Top 10 are as follows: "Da Da Dance" (ft. Tak Matsumoto) at #4, "Shanti Shanti Shanti" rising 13-5, "Night Night Burn!" debuting at #8, "↑↓←→BBAB" coming in at #9, and "Arkadia" at #10. The rest of the Top 10 is ReoNa's "forget-me-not" which takes a slight dip, going 5-6, and MAG!C☆PRINCE's "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai", which falls 4-7. However, given member Nishioka Kengo's recent announcement that he will leave the group, the song may be getting a boost. The only non-BABYMETAL debuts on the chart this week come from Harry Styles, who was overshadowed by the album bomb, and Korean singer/actress Sulli, who tragically passed away of a suspected suicide. Japan continues to lead as the top country (64%), and thanks to BABYMETAL, rock is the top genre with 32%, closely followed by J-pop (28%). Niall Horan returns to #1 with "Nice to Meet Ya", Marilyn Manson debuts at #2)Sulli also enters the Top 10 posthumously. This week sees the return of Niall Horan's "Nice to Meet Ya" to the top. The track rises 2-1, as the most listened to track of the week. Rock band Marilyn Manson debuts at #2 with their cover of "God's Gonna Cut You Down". Manson reached similar heights with "WE KNOW WHERE YOU f**kinG LIVE", which also peaked at #2, and topped the chart in 2017 with "Kill4Me". Drake Bell & Jorge Blanco's "No Perdamos Más Tiempo" holds at #3, and ReoNa's "forget-me-not" once again hits a new peak, rising 6-4. MAG!C☆PRINCE's "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai" rises 7-5. Due to member Nishioka Kengo abruptly leaving the band on his birthday (October 22nd), this song and their others are receiving a boost. However, any future releases by the band will likely be hindered by Nishioka's absence. Last week's #1, "Distortion" by BABYMETAL, falls 1-6, "Lost" by End of the World featuring Clean Bandit returns, climbing 11-7, as well as "Koiwshiyo JAPAN" by 14 STARS, which goes 15-8. "Shanti Shanti Shanti" by BABYMETAL falls 5-9. Finally, Sulli's "Goblin" rises 28-10, being the second youngest artist to hit the Top 10 posthumously, as she was 25 when she died (Christina Grimmie for reference, is the youngest at 22). Debuts this week come from mxmtoon, Ozawa Kenji, and Reol. mxmtoon is the first Chinese-American to make the Top 50. MAG!C☆PRINCE's "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai" makes record-extending 13th week return to #1Some Holiday music also debuts in the Top 10.Following Nishioka Kengo's announced graduation, J-pop boy idol group MAG!C☆PRINCE sees their most recent single "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai", returns to the top spot. The song has now been #1 for 13 weeks, extending the record for most weeks at #1 for a single song. It is currently the top single of 2019's year-end chart, and the their second-biggest single in the chart's history, second to "Update", which is #1 on the all-time chart ("Gomen.. Hanashitakunai" is #5). This causes "Nice to Meet Ya" by Niall Horan to fall 1-2, with only marginal losses. ReoNa's "forget-me-not" continues its slow climb, rising 4-3 for a new peak. Drake Bell and Jorge Blanco's "No Perdamos Más Tiempo" falls 3-4. We get a debut at #5 with "Do You Hear What I Hear?", by Pentatonix. The song features the late Whitney Houston and is a track included on their new compilation, 'The Best of Pentatonix Christmas'. It is the 30th Top 10 for Pentatonix and first for Houston. Next, we get "Lalala" by Y2K and bbno$. Due to a remix with Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias and Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen, the song jumps 12-6, and due to being released mid-week, should see another boost next week. Back to holidays, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu sees her first Top 10 with "Crazy Party Night", which debuts at #7. Rarely, this is a Halloween song, with the only other charting being "This is Halloween" by Marilyn Manson. MAG!C☆PRINCE's former eight-week #1 "Update" climbs 21-8, in its 63rd week on the chart. It ties kirstin's "Break a Little" for most weeks in the Top 50, and is looking to pass it next week, still being in the Top 10. Marilyn Manson's "God's Gonna Cut You Down" drops 2-9, and Mxmtoon sees her first Top 10, as "Prom Dress" climbs 17-10. Aside from Pentatonix album cuts, we also see debuts from Arizona Zervas and his viral hit "Roxanne", and a whole lot of J-pop with Official HIGE DANdism, MAG!C☆PRINCE, and ONE N' ONLY. Japan is the top country, taking over 60% of the chart, while J-pop is the top genre at over half. LW TW Artist Song PK Points 05 01 22 MAG!C☆PRINCE – “Gomen.. Radio Company is pretty good. What are they like country western rock. It's funny you debuted those songs with Jensen. I literally just watched "My Bloody Valentine" remake last night.

Taylor Swift falls just short of Bell, only being 50 points short. "Beautiful Ghosts" debuts at #2. This is the fourth time Swift has been blocked from #1 in 2019. These are the weeks where she was blocked. June 21, 2019: "You Need to Calm Down" - Blocked by MAG!C☆PRINCE's "Gomen.. November 22, 2019: "Beautiful Ghosts" - Blocked by Drake Bell's "MIA" Following Swift, "Nice to Meet Ya" by Niall Horan and "I'm Loving" by YB remain at #3 and #4 respectively, while last week's #1, "Pretender" by Pentatonix, dips down 1-5. mxmtoon's "Prom Dress" holds at #6, while "No Perdamos Más Tiempo" by Drake Bell & Jorge Blanco rise 8-7. Xia Wanan earns her first Top 10 with "Wo Hai Shi Hen Xi Huan Ni". From the soundtrack of Chinese drama 'Well-Intended Love', Xia Wanan is the first artist from mainland China to chart in the Top 10. "Wo Hai Shi Hen Xi Huan Ni" is also the second song in Chinese to reach the Top 10, following "Rescue" by Jackie Chan. Finally, "Gomen.. Hanashitakunai" falls 5-9, while King & Prince's "koi-wazurai" re-enters at its peak, rising 11-10. Speaking of the former, it now surpasses "Marry Me" for second most weeks in the Top 10 (25). "Update" still holds the record with 27. This week sees more debuts from Drake Bell and Xia Wanan, as well as Thomas Rhett, Mafumafu, Sayaka Yamamoto, and Bullet Train, with Mafumafu earning his first ever chart entry. An excellent ballad. Albeit one without much replayability, in my view.
Drake Bell - Vertigo. A return to form for Drake Bell, a bit closer to his sound from his first two albums. This track was originally meant to be released in the early 2010s, but was originally thought to be lost.
Thomas Rhett - Christmas in the Country. A Christmas country song. Pretty enjoyable. Not sure if it'll get heavy plays in my playlists, though.
Mafumafu - Onnanoko Ni Naritai. The title translates to "I Wanna be a Girl". Which should tell you what the song is about. Aside from the subject matter, it's really catchy, and he shows really impressive range, switching from a more girly voice during most of the song to a more young male one. Put on subtitles if you want to see the lyrics in English.
Sayaka Yamamoto - Tsuioku no Hikari. Title translates to "recollection of light". Seems to be related to moving on from a relationship. English subtitles are available here as well.

Drake Bell takes up Top 2, dethroning himself with "Vertigo"The actor/musician earns his fourth #1 in 2019.Drake Bell earns his ninth #1 with "Vertigo", as it rises 18-1. The pop rock track, originally meant to be released in 2012, is Bell's third #1 in 2019, following "The Plan", "No Perdamos Más Tiempo", and "MIA". This pushes "MIA" down 1-2. We'll see in the coming weeks which of Bell's tracks will get the major listens. Next, YB's "I'm Loving" rises 4-3, for a new peak. "Niice too Meet Ya" by Niall Horan falls 3-4. Xia Wanan's "Wo Hai Shi Hen Xi Huan Ni" climbs 8-5, with big gains, and is possibly a future #1. mxmtoon's "prom dress" once again, remains at #6, as it's been at #6 for four straight weeks now. Taylor Swift's "Beautiful Ghosts" falls 2-7 off its debut last week, and Pentatonix's "Pretender" continue to go down 5-8, as is Drake Bell's and Jorge Blanco's "No Perdamos Más Tiempo", down 7-9. Finally, Mafumafu's "Onnanoko Ni Naritai" (I Wanna be a Girl) rises 29-10, giving the Japanese utaite his first Top 10 entry. For the first time in chart history, there is not a single debut, and instead, we getting a bunch of returning songs, notably Christmas related. Taylor Swift debuts at #1 with "Christmas Tree Farm"Sayaka Yamamoto, MAG!C☆PRINCE, and Niall Horan debut in the Top 10.Taylor Swift earns her fourth #1 on the Top 50 with "Christmas Tree Farm". It's her second #1 of 2019 following "ME!", featuring Brendon Urie. It had a hefty lead over "Vertigo" by Drake Bell, which falls 1-2 after two weeks at #1. This also causes YB's "I'm Loving" to fall 2-3. Japanese singer Sayaka Yamamoto gets her second Top 10, and first debut in the region, with "True Blue". The song is from her upcoming album 'α' (pronounced "Alpha"), which is set to be released on Christmas Day. Xia Wanan's "Wo Hai Shi Hen Xi Huan Ni" falls 3-5. MAG!C☆PRINCE sees a Top 10 debut with "Try Again", starting at #6. Due to a partial three-day tracking week, it could challenge "Christmas Tree Farm" for the #1 next week. Without favored member Kengo Nishioka though, it is uncertain how long MAG!C☆PRINCE songs will last in the future. Mafumafu's "Onnanoko Ni Naritai" holds at its peak of #7. mxmtoon's "prom dress" seems to be making its exit, falling 5-8, same with "MIA" by Drake Bell, the former #1 falling 4-9. Finally, Irish singer Niall Horan debuts at #10 with "Put a Little Love On Me". We also see debuts from Kizuna AI, French Junior Eurovision contestant Carla, and Yin Que Shi Ting & Zhao Fingjing.
