LOL! Before he became all "Shape Of You" I did chart " The A Team" . Besides "Blow" is so up my alley in the lyrics and guitars that song practically debuted itself on my chart. ;)

At 31 weeks on the chart White Lies holds down the #1 position for a third week. Volbeat will have to wait til next week at #2, but Blaqk Audio is also nearing the top 3. The question is will our next #1 song be Melodic hard Rock or another 80's type New Wave song? The action continues in the top 10 with upward movement from Stephen Pearcy, Greta Van Fleet and The Struts, and another strong jump for "Faith" the third Top 10 song off "Prequelle". We got three debuts this week. Tessa Violet with her first song on my charts titled "I Like (The Idea) of You", blink-182 also returns with "Darkside", and as promised the highest debut goes to the new single from MisterWives titles "whywhywhy" . A few more surprise jumps The 1975, Cage The Elephant, WARKINS, and White Reaper keeps the chart fresh and exciting. HOT LIST: . . Add number one comes from Disturbed. They are so fierce they need no introduction. The MV also makes its splashing debut on my chart.  Everyones favorite Glam Metal parody band is lose again on my chart. Steel Panther are back with "You're Always Gonna Be A Ho" . My add number three is stylishly written like this  *repeat repeat - Hi, Im Waiting . If you like Weezer, Fountains Of Wayne, and The Rentals then you will dig this one just like I do.  My last add is from PULSE's favorite band to tank. Yes Buckcherry is back with the title track from 'Warpaint". I think this one could be my favorite off the album. It's all about that AC/DC vibe too.

Once in a while I do one of these and this week belongs to Pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen. Vocals? Right up there with Demi and Kelly Clarkson.  I always loved Carly's brand of 80's style Pop. Her style also reminds me a lot of Spanish pop band Belanova. Catchy upbeat songs and choruses that are so peppy that they are irresistible to sing a long to. So my favorite albums are probably 'Emotions" and "Emotions - B-sides". It's all about that 80's vibes.

Let's start off the action with a brand new #1 song from Volbeat. "Last Day Under The Sun" has a perfect hard Rock summer song vibe. Songs from Boston come to mind when I hear this song. A strong guitar melody should keep this one at #1 for a few more weeks. The next 2 strong contenders for #1 are "Infinte Skin" from Blaqk Audio and "Lover Leaver (Taker Believer)" giving Greta Van Fleet yet another top 5 hit on my charts. Coming in at #10 is another top 10 hit for Carly Rae Jepsen, and just below the top 10 re Dirty Honey and Whitesnake fighting for that big Summer hit. We got four debuts this week including new Indiepop from TWIN XL. This song been hanging around my weekly top picks for a while and this week they score their first chart hit with "Good". The Indiepop action continues with new music from Paper Jackets titled "Girl". WE also have new K-POp from DreamNote with thier insanely catchy "Hakuna matata". The 1975 - 'People" is hot off the burner and is one of the fiercest 360 degree turns I've heard a band do in the last 5 years. You need to hear it believe it. New act Joseph Of Mercury makes a splashing debut with some smooth 80's New Romantic vibes on the song "Pretenders". Want more 80's vibes? How about new music from Indiepop band NIGHT TRAVELER . Aptly titled "1984" this song reminds me of the band Cock Robin. In fact this song could have been new Cock Robin single. My last add is another new song from Taylor Swift. That's right I'm charting two Taylor Swift songs in 2019 only this one is old school Taylor Swift as she breaks out her Country guitar magic on her new single "Lover". Our last week of August is also the hottest. Climate wise and Chart wise. The perfect summer vibe continues with Volbeat holding strong to #1 with "Last Day Under The Sun". They keep Blaqk Audio in check at #2, but can't stop Greta Van Fleet from rising to #3 with their ode to 70's Metal titles "Lover Leave(Taker Believer). New to the top 10 this week is the new rocking single from Whitesnake, and that would bring us to out three debuts. At #60 and fresh out of the HOT LIST is "People" from The 1975. #59 takes us to a Retro Weezer sounding song from *repeat repeat titled "Hi, Im Waiting'. Our highest debut of the week is the much anticipated new single from WILDSTREET. "Tennessee Cocaine" was too hot for the HOT LIST so it makes its debut the very first night I add it to my playlist. This song is pure adrenaline driven Sleaze Metal at its best. More chart action and big moves from MisterWives, blink-182,TWIN XL and the highest jump for Disturbed's new anthem Metal song "No More". HOT LIST:  Let's start off with another song I added to my playlist last night. Been a long while since Danish Pop Sensations Alphabeat released new music. Seven years have passed since I was charting songs like "Vacation" and "Love Sea", but it looks like a new album is one the way and the first single is the title track. Fun and Bouncy is the best way to describe it and that's just fine with me. Coming back to my list are Pale Waves with "Kiss". It's the forth single off "My Mind Makes Noises" I'm charting , but actually the 5th time they return to my chart.  This week The Defiants went recurrent with "We All Fall Down" so I feel it's time to bring a single off their actual new album,  so The Defiants - "Fallin' For You" will be out final add for the week.

First week of September gives us a very crowded Top 5. All songs are strong repeats on my playlists, but nothing can topple Volbeat from the top spot. Our one new entry into the top 10 is new band Dirty Honey scoring their first top 10 hit on my chart with "When I'm Gone". This week we say goodbye to three songs which brings on three new debuts. At #60 we have new act We Are Scientists making their debut on my charts with "One In One Out". At #59 we have "Siempre" the third single LODVG charts on my list this year, and that brings us to the highest debut. Pale Waves are no strangers to my list, and they have certainly racked up a nice resume by achieving 5 big hits on my chart. This week I bring on single number six in the form of "Kiss". Another uptempo New Wave 80's banger that will surely be another top 10 for the band. More big moves keep the chart on a steady upward slope including "No More" the latest single from Disturbed that is setting this chart on fire. HOT LIST: . The Spanish Electropop vibe is the sound this week. Any Spanish Electropop fans?  We have new music from the genres two biggest stars. First off is new music from Moenia. It's the title track off their two song E.P. titled "Sin Etiquetas" . The second single is from Belanova. I initially dismissed their last album because I didn't like the song" Cásate Conmigo
", now the album is up on youtube , and I immediately fell for the pop perfection of "Nada Es Igual". I might actually debut it next week since it is already a year old. My last add is a song from one of Active Rock's fastest rising stars. I've only charted them once with Diamante on last year's mega powerballad "Hear Me Now", but on their latest single the Bad Wolves are incorporating a sort of Nickelback vibe that I can't resist so "Killing Me Slowly" is jumping through the new Metal music right into my all genre top 60. I would really love an official MV featuring Tattoo girl.

*Instead of a Metal Chart I'm going to do something a bit different. Active 91 is coming up and I'd be lying if I didn't admit it was one of my favorite years in rock.  Everybody who was anybody in world of rock released music that year. I happen to think the songs we are ranking are great but even better are some of the extras, so I'm going to showcase some of those in the weeks to come. I might even submit my own top 100 rock songs of 1991 during the reveals. Something I was doing during the 80's RDs. That's how much I loved 89,90 and 91 years in rock.


First up is an artist that needs no introduction on my chart. It's front man for The Cars Ric Ocasek. The first single off "Fireball Zone" peaked right outside the top 10 mainstream Rock songs, but went on to #1 on my personal charts.

*Next we got an artsist who is in my top 5 this week. Stephen Pearcy was front man for the Glam Metal band Ratt. The last single off "Detonator" was a flop on Mainstream Rock top 40 peaking at #39. It was a Powerballad. Something Ratt were not really known for. On my chart it was a different story . I loved how Stephen sounded on Powerballad mode and this one inched its way up my chart before peaking at #3.

* This last song is quite possibly my favorite Tesla song ever. It was the first single off "Psychotic Supper", and had a modest peak of #20 on Mainstream Rock. For me its their most fierce and the lyrics are about Nikola Tesla. Plus this song has a mind blowing breakdown very fitting for the song. It's a crying shame we are not ranking this fierce demon of a song cuz it would have made my top 5.

That would be the new song from WARKINGS feat. The Queen Of The Dammed titled "Sparta". Add the fact that '300' is one of my favorite movies ever and this becomes my 2019 bench press song of the year. Seven weeks and the song is up to #7 with #1 in its future I'm already digging for another WARKINGS single to add to my playlist. We have three new debuts, and as promised Belanova takes highest debut honors at #45 with the ultra pop bop "Nada Es Igual". We also have Buckcherry returning with the title track off their latest album, and starting off the action at #60 is The Moth and The Flame with "Only Just Begun" More action in the HOT list, New Mv's and Sleeves, and three more highlights from Active Rock's Extras for the year 1991. Three more huge hits off 1991 mainstream Rock RD Extras. The first is the biggest surprise to me. While we will get a chance to rank " Can't Get Enuff" for 1990 ,and hopefully two more for 1988-89 its a crying shame we'll miss out on "Miles Away" This was Winger's shining Powerballad and also huge on Hot 100. If you ever been involved in a long distance relationship these are your lyrics. Simply breathtaking. The reason it missed out is because of the time frame in the charts, but it did reach #14 a position much higher than some of the songs we are ranking peaked at. Needless to say this was one of my top 5 songs for 1991.



Winger - Miles Away




Next is a sure fire banger of a song from Great White. It's my favorite song from the band and has a perfect dance vibe to go along. This one peaked at #16 on mainstream, but IMOP should also have gone top 5. The song also one of the fiercest Guitar solos of the year. A huge top 10 hit on my charts.

Speaking of favorite songs from favorite bands. Here is another one. I gave this one a high peak of #7 on my chart. This time from the Las Vegas based band Slaughter. This one reached #37 on Mainstream Rock , but I remember this one getting mad airplay on MTV. MTV kept the Hair Metal vibe alive for more years in the 90's with Riki Rachtman as the host.

Last weekend my favorite rocker ever passed away, so this week I'm going to commence my top 10 favorite Ric Ocasek songs. Starting with #10 this week and working my way up for the next nine weeks. The list will only feature songs off Ric's Solo Albums. I'm also bringing back a former #1 song to my chart from 1991 from Ric titled "Rockaway". I chose that one because of the 1991 Mainstream RD. It seemed like the perfect one to bring back. I included the song's original chart run. My chart only had 40 songs back then, so 16 weeks was considered a strong chart run. The other three debuts include Green Day's new banger "Father of All Mother f**kers" at #49, Moenia's "Sin Etiquetas" at #56, and at #60  Bad Wolves back on the chart with "Killing Me Slowly". I love the strong retro "boost" Grunge vibe of this song a lot. All that action and I haven't even mentioned my brand new #1 from Greta Van Fleet. This song rocks like no other this year and it was eventually going to #1 on my chart. I also love the half hour version of the song. These youngsters inject so much attitude into the vocals and instrument playing that I consider this a perfect hard Rock song. Normally I would put the music video and sleeve art of the #1 song, but this week the spotlight belongs to Ric Ocasek. The featured MV is Ric singing my favorite Cars song ever "Let's Go". HOT LIST: . ItaLove is a Italo Disco/Hi- Energy rebirth group who have been releasing online music since 2013. I have charted quite a few of their songs too. This week I discovered one from 2017 titled "Stockholm Is Calling". This one caught my attention particularly for the mid break guitar solo. You don't hear that too often on Hi- Energy except maybe in Eurobeat. For add number two we visit Ghost and a new track titled "Kiss The Go Goat". It sounds like they are jumping on their 80's Rock sound of "Dance Macabre" and "Rats" train and what ever they may mean with "kiss The Go Goat" I love the song and I need to get a first class ticket to ride that "Crazy Train"  My next song comes off the Spanish independent label Elephant Records. One of their premier acts is Cristina Quesada with her ultra cute accent, had released new e.p. and on this new track she goes to inspiration from 80's SAW style of Bananarama, Rick Astly and especially Kylie Minogue  "I Think I Heard A Rumour" has all the great 80's production sounds including vocal samples in the intro and throughout the song. I haven't heard a dance song with that effect in years.  It looks like Blaqk Audio's label  doesn't seem to be doing much promotion for "Only Things We Love" which to me is a great album. Not one single was released to radio that I know of, but I'm moving on to track #10 "Dark Arcades". It has a perfect 80's synthpop vibe ready made for my chart..

* I hate it when my favorite 80's icons pass away, but when my favorite 80's icon of all time leaves us it's time for me to do something special to show my appreciation for all the great music he provided all these years. This week begins my Ric Ocasek top 10 songs. WE start tonight with #10 and work our way up the chart to #1 in the weeks to come. At #10 comes a song off "Fireball Zone". Ric is known for his quirky lyrics and perfect poppy songs that fit into any genre. "The Way You Look Tonight" touches another side of Ric's writing style best heard on the New Romantic sound of the 80's. A Magical song with wonderful instrument sounds that turned out to be one of my favorite compositions of his. If you liked Sade's smooth silky jazzy side check this song out. Could turn out to be a favorite of your's too.

Greta Van Fleet hangs on to #1. In fact my top 3 all stay the same. Only WARKINGS moves up one spot to #4 and Ric Ocasek jumps into the top 5 with his return trip to my chart with "Rockaway". The only new entry in the top 10 comes from Kacey Musgraves with her Country/Disco single "High Horse". Moving on to the three debuts. We got White Lies following the recent success of "Tokyo" with another single titled "Believe It", the brand new single from The Defiants also debuts ,and the highest debut going to "Burn!" from Kobra and The Lotus. That song goes from the #1 position on my Metal chart straight into the top 50 songs of the week. New Videos and sleeve art round out the chart's highlights. Red =Debut song. HOT LIST:  My favorite indierock band from Barcelona, El Ultimo Vecino are back with another single. This time I chose "Un Secreto mal Guardado" again for it's 80's like New Wave Cure sound. They have other songs with different vibes, but being an 80's freak I choose the ones that best sing to me. My last add might be a song that drops off the Active chart before I even get a chance to grow into it. BRKN LOVE - Shot Down has that Dirty Love, gritty 70's Garage  rock style that's making sort of a comeback on the rock scene . In my opinion the songs could stand to be a bit longer to really leave an impact, but it's pretty fierce for what is has to offer.

* The third track I charted off Ric's Last Solo album is my #9 song on my best of Ric Ocasek top 10. This one was off 'Nexterday'. This one peaked at #5 on my weekly chart ,and became my favorite track with an impressive 42 week run on my chart. Even cruising over to the next year in music. The song carries the style of songs like "My Best Friend's Girl" or even "Little Black Egg" . The Cars cover of the Night Crawlers hit that didn't quite make it on to "Shake It Up" album. I'll include it too as a bonus. Both songs have a sorta Rock-a Billy/Psychedelic with a hint of Folk, and with a great build up to the chorus.

New month of October brings 5 new songs to the chart. leaving this week are The Struts, Of Monsters and Men, Josema, Collective Soul , and Muse, and debuting are new songs from BRKN LOVE, Goo Goo Dolls, with a very Echosmith sounding song, Joseph Of Mercury, Weezer and the highest debut going to Cristina Quesasda for her ode to the great 80's sound of Stock Aitken Waterman on her song "I Think I Heard A Rumor". Greta Van Fleet hang on to #1 for three weeks , but will Ric Ocasek get a two time #1 song with "Rockaway". It's very likely. The Freeweights are right outside the top 10 and Ed Sheeran scores his first top 10 hit with the rocking "Blow". Elsewhere on the chart we have continued strong movement from Green Day,MisterWives and Skillet, but if you take a closer look you will notice upward jumps almost all songs on the chart. HOT LIST: ..One of my favorite Indiepop bands have released a new song. Echosmith - "Lonely Generation" sounds exactly what I expected. The sound? A mix of "Cool Kids" with "Over My Head". Very catchy with some eye opening lyrics about the I-phone generation. Up next is the Metal band who had one of the biggest hits on my chart for 2018. The Brazilian rock band Armored Dawn is back with a new song and new album with the title track which currently holds the #1 position on my Metal chart. I thought "Ragnarok" it would be more of a theme song, but turns out to be more of a high powered Anthem song instead which is just fine by me. My last add is my favorite. It's from 80's Icons Huey Lewis and The News. They have a new single titles "Her Love Is Killin' Me". Great song and nothing like what's on the radio , but than again Huey and Co. never were, and that's what makes it so great. No news of a new record...yet, but I would love one.

* For song #8. on my Top 10 Ric Ocasek songs I'm choosing "Don't Let Go". In 1993 Ric Ocasek released his fourth solo album with 'Quick Change World'. The first single was "Don't Let Go", and aside from a live performance on Letterman I don't recall hearing the song once on the radio. For me the highlight of the album was "Hard Times" a song originally meant to appear on 'Heartbeat City", but I charted that a few years back, so this week I got "Don't let Go" for you. It's very 80's for a 90's song, and as always Greg Hawks is present on the keyboards.

Welcome back to a new week of the biggest songs on my personal chart. The big news is the late Great Ric Ocasek scores #1 "Rockaway". Twenty-eight years ago "Rockaway" went to #1 for the first time for two weeks and now in 2019 it returns for another round of #1 action. The only other new entry into the top 5 is Kacey Musgraves with "High Horse". We also see Freeweights score a Fourth top 10 hit on my chart with "Close Call". This song for some reason reminds me of Miami Vice. On to out debuts. We have three this week. Starting off the action at #60 with El Ultimo Vecino's latest single "Un Secreto Mal Guardado ". Huey Lewis and The News make a quick debut with a great song titled "Her Love Is Killin' Me", and the HOT SHOT debut going to chart icons Echosmith. In six short years since "Cool Kids" first hit the airwaves Echosmith have scored 8 singles on my chart. "Lonely Generation" is their ninth. HOT LIST: This week's theme in the HOT list could be titled icons from 1985'-1988'. Rick Astley starts off the action a new greatest hits compilation titled 'Best Of Me'. "Every One Of Us" is probably one of the best songs I've heard from him since forever. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) are no strangers to my chart and they also have a singles compilation out now. The first new single is the 80's flashback sounding "Don't Go". My last add is from Bananarama. "Stuff Like That" is just about to go top 10 on my chart and this week they released "Looking For Someone". This one has a poprock sound. Much like the latest songs from Kim Wilde and Blondie. Very catchy and with an addictive sing a lone chorus.

* The Ric Ocasek top 10 will return next week. This week I'm showcasing My New Music Metal chart which is chalk full of new Rock music. Including new songs from DIAMANTE, BAND-MAID, and Edge Of Paradise who has now joined the indie rock label Frontiers Records. Their new song meshes Metal with Disco. Think Kiss "I Was Made For Loving You". Great song with strong chance of cruising over to my top 60. Also back on the chart is J-Metal's BAND-MAID. The band either really rock hard or bring on the powerpop vibe , but the songs are always powerful. "Endless Story" is no exception.

This week we have a brand new #1 song. This song's upward movement has actually been based on how good of a week I have at the gym. I was out of it for a few weeks, but this week I came back strong as did "Sparta" which jumps three slots to #1. WARKINGS also have the #1 song on my new Metal music chart with "Gladiator". More excitement in the top 10 as Pretty Boy Floyd score another hit off "Public Enemies and British icons Banarama return to my top 10 after more than 15 years with "Stuff Like That". Which brings us to out three new debuts. Steel Panther have a new album out and while the lyrics are a bit tame this time around the music is still 80's Glampetacular. As is the case "Always Gonna Be A Ho". It's perfect in a Glam Metal powerballad sense. Another debut this week comes from Italo Disco sensations ItaLove. Also Swedish, but from a Hi-Energy club sense. I've charted them many times and "Stockholm Is Calling" even has a guitar solo to boost the song's NRG. My last debut is from Taylor Swift which means I charted two Taylor Swift songs in one year. This song isn't your usually made for poptart chart drivel. This song actually shines her talent. Great vocals, wonderful melody ,and sounds more like Taylor Swift with a 50's high school romance vibe, so I wasn't gonna let this one slide by me. Finally the big leap for "Lonely Generation" from Echosmith including the song's brand new video. Music Videos, Sleeve Art , the HOT LIST will round off this week's chart highlights. HOT LIST: I got one add this week from Jenny and The Mexicats' new album "Fiesta Ancestral". Jenny and The Mexicats take three great talents and rolls into one great sounding band. You got the two Mexicats, One Spanish member and Jenny Ball on vocals and Clarinet. Her unique accent adds personality to their songs and her clarinet always gets the showcase solo. The first song I'm adding is titled "Ancestral". I love this one cuz it features all the vibes the band is known for. Including some Traditional Spanish rock and slight edge of cumbias. Plus her staple English vocals. Next week I'll bring on some Struts, Saint Motel and that new DIAMANTE single could finally be cruising over to the music chart.

WARKINGS hang on to #1 for a second week. This week we have quite a few songs dropping. Something I don't usually do too much. Usually once a song falls below their peak I send it recurrent, but with so much good music songs are peaking early so they might stick around a while. With songs moving down we also have plenty of them moving up. Including MisterWives going Top 10 this week with their latest single "whywhywhy". This week we have three debuts. The action commences with new music from Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark in the form of "Don't Go".  Debut #2 comes from last years breakthrough Metal band Armored Dawn. HOT LIST: I added three great songs this week. The first is from Glam Rock superstars The Struts. "Pegasus Seiya" is a song about the fictional character "Seiya" best know for the Manga series "Saint Seiya". More guitar oriented than usual for the band but also very powerful. Speaking of Saint we have brand spanking new music from Saint Motel titled "Van Horn". The music video is just as captivating as the song. This time along with the horns they decided on a bit of a western vibe. My final add is a discovery while previewing the new Bleached album. I already charted "Hard To Kill" , but on first listen the song "Somebody Dial 911" became my Pick hit of the week. The style is very much like Pale Waves. A little 80's Cure, very aesthetic and ridiculously catchy. I hope they make a music video for this, but for now I can enjoy the song on repeat play. Also the album has been released on Vinyl, which is on my to purchase list. This is a live version performance that sounds great.

* The Ric Ocasek top 10 returns this week with a track titled "Hard Times". The first you'll notice is that it sounds like an 80's retro song. 1984 to be exact. The song was originally intended to be on 'Heartbeat City', but didn't get an album release til 1993 on "Quick Change World". Furthermore it's also a track that I decided to chart in 2017. A lot of history for a great sounding song. Next week The Top 5.

Halloween weekend brings us a brand new #1 song. This time it's from Stephen Pearcy the former lead singer of the 80's Glam Metal band Ratt. As a solo artist Stephen has released 5 albums. "U Only Live Twice" is from his latest album 'View To A Thrill'. More big news in the top 5 for Kacey Musgraves as "High Horse" moves up two slots to #2. Could it be the next #1?. Freeweights also move into top 5 with their fourth charting single 'Close Call". Two songs enter the top 10 this week. "Legendary" from Skillet and "Paint It On" from Pretty Boy Floyd which gets a new peak of #9. Moving on to our three debuts. All from returning acts. The highest goes to Saint Motel for their new single "Van Horn" which in the end turns out to be the "My Type" part two I hoped for. The Struts leave the chart this week , but return with "Pegasus Seiya" ,and at #60 is a long awaited new single from Alphabeat titled "I Don't Know What's Cool Anymore". HOT LIST: With end of the Summer the Hard rock metal fire is also simmering down, so this week I got 3 great new pop singles which I just added to my HOT List. The first is from one of my favorite Indiepop bands Fickle Friends. "The Moment" is off their 2018 E.P. titled "Broken Sleep". The strong indiepop continues with the band The Runaway Club I like that their songs have that big 80's percussion style which is exactly why I'm loving "Middle Of The Night". My last Pop add is from Pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen. She already went top 10 with "Now That I Found You", so this week I'm bringing on an even more 80's sounding bop titled "Want You In My Room".

* This week we start counting up my favorite top 5 Ric Ocasek songs of all time. AT #5 is "The Next Right Moment". The song is from 1997 album 'Troubleizing' and has a strong 90's sound with the guitar works, but also has that pop perfect chorus only Ric can dream up. The song went to #1 on my chart for four weeks. The whole album was a sort of collaboration with Smashing Pumpkins' lead singer Billy Corgan as is evident on most of the tracks. Other featured musicians on the album include Ira Elliot from Nada Surf and Melissa Auf der Maur from Hole. As always Greg Hawks in also present on keyboards. All also appear on the music video.

The big news this week is Country sensation Kacey Musgraves scoring her very first #1 song on my chart with her Country/Disco Pop Bop "High Horse". I love this jam, and the lyrics are very according to what the song and music video are about. Very catchy and perfect club music IMOP. Only one song from The Freeweights looks to be a contender, but Kacey should hang on for at least one more week. No vacancies in the top 10 this week keep strong songs from Echosmith and Green Day in check, but it's new comers Stand Atlantic who poses the biggest threat to the top 10 contenders by jumping up 3 more slots to #13. Moving On to our four debuts this week. They are all from different sides of music. The action starts off with some Spanish Rock vibes from Jenny & The Mexicats with their new single "Fiesta Ancestral". Hard rock vibes are brought to us this week from Fozzy's latest single "Nowhere To Run". Another Track off Blaqk Audio's latest album also makes it's chart debut. "Dark Arcades" is very 80's Synth pop. The kind of song that could have easily found a slot in between "Tainted Love" and "Since Your Gone" in the year 1982. Our last debut is also heavy on 80's vibes. Carly Rae Jepsen returns to my chart with another insanely catchy pop gem titled "Want You In My Room". The rest of the chart carries a very upward vibe as your favorite songs from Cage The Elephant, Cristina Quesada, Steel Panther and Alphabeat all make strong movements to the top. Red = debuts. HOT LIST: BAND-MAID is one of my favorite J-Metal bands around. They have teased a few songs off their latest album 'Conqueror'. All have made my New Music Metal chart. Including this new single "Endless Story". The band is known for their J-Metal sound, but this one has a surprising uplifting Pop Punk vibe as well. Great song which even features a bit of English lyrics. My next add is Another new song from Stand Atlantic making its way onto my list of new music. It's their fresh ,new ,Poppunk single titled "Hate Me (Sometimes)". Work Of Art is a new band just signed with Frontiers Records. Their sound is melodic AOR 80's style like Journey and Night Ranger. The first single "Another Night" gets a quick add to my pick hits playlist. My last add surprises even me since I haven't liked any of her songs until now. It's the latest single from pop star Dua Lipa. It took me a few listens to dive into "Don't Start Now" , but that because I'm not used to her singing tones. She does however have the right tones to deliver this Poptart Disco bop fire that is sure to rise up my charts just like songs from Carly, Demi and Kacey have.

* Continuing on with my Ric Ocasek top 10 songs. We have two songs off "This Side of Paradise" coming in at #s 3 and 4. Both songs went top 10 on my personal charts. Both also had Music Videos to go along. However Only "Emotion In Motion" scored Billboard top 40 success reaching as high as #15 and #1 on Rock Album tracks. "True To You" did get Hot 100 action at #75 and also top 10 action on Album Rock. On my charts it was the story was different. "Emotion In Motion" reached #1 while "True To You" got as high as #5 before dropping out of my top 10. I also brought "True To You" back in 1991 where it went top 10 for a second time on my charts. As far as I recall "True To You" was practically a Cars project as all five members contributed to the song's composition.

As suspected "High Horse" hangs on to #1 for week number 2. After six weeks at #6 Disturbed moves up to slots to #4 with "No More" . Big action in this weeks list with moves you don't witness too often. First we got four songs cracking the top 20, but even better we have three songs cracking the top 10 as Stand Atlantic take their first ever charting song "Lavender Bones" into my top 10. Echosmith also ,effortlessly ,eases into the top 10 with "Lonely Generation" ,and after a few slow weeks Green Day makes the big jump to #8 with "Father of All Mothefuckers" let's get into this week's three new debuts. Coming in at #59 are newcomers The Catching with "The More I Say". Our highest debut is the second track I'm charting from Indiepop band Bleached titled "Somebody Dial 911" and as expected Dua Lipa makes her countdown debut with her smacking discobop "Don't Start". Which goes to prove repeat playback action works. A couple of new sleeves and music video action round out the chart highlights. Red = Debuts. HOT LIST: This week my most added song comes from the prince of Metal darkness himself Ozzy Osbourne. His new single "Under The Graveyard" is seriously racing up the Active chart and frankly that causes a problem with my chart. let's just say after one week on my new Metal chart the song will be debuting as soon as next week on my Top 60. My actual favorite Rock song is "Trespass On Love" from the new British Glam band Passion who is debuting on Frontiers Records Label. The style is Whitesnake/Def Leppard with some Danger Danger thrown in for addictive melodic chorus. On a scale of 1-5 cans of Hairspary I'm giving this one a cool 4 and half cans of Aquanet. My last add was just added last night and is already gaining the playback points. It's the new single from Pop sensations Neon Trees. If you are in dire need of an 80's shot take a listen to "Used To Like".

"Rockaway" was the only single released off the album,and is on my actual top 10 this week. Not only is "Rockaway" one of my favorite Ric Ocasek solo songs , but it is now a two time #1 song on my personal charts. have you guessed what my personal favorite Ric Ocasek songs is? We have a brand new #1 song from 80's synthpop revival band Freeweights as "Close Call" steps up to notches to the chart's crown position. The one takes you back to soundtracks of TV series like Night Rider or Miami Vice. The action continues as both "whywhywhy" and "Father of All...." move into the top 5. Both are the lead singles from MisterWives and Green Day's latest projects. That brings us to three new debuts on this week's chart. let's start off with #59. The newest single from Bananarama titled "Looking For Someone". At #57 we have a quick debut from Neon Trees. "Used To Like" is also on the official Alternative Charts so let's hope that is their comeback single for 2020. Our highest debut comes from Ozzy Obourne The Prince Of Darkness himself. HOT LIST: We have three new exciting singles this week. The first comes from one of my favorite Indiepop bands of the past years. Last week MisterWives dropped their latest e.p. 'Mini Bloom". They also just released the music video for single #2 titled "The End" which is full of great uptepmo vibes and colors. My second add comes from of Monsters and Men. "Alligator" was a big top 20 hit on my chart and this week I welcome "Wars" onto my playlists. My third add is a song that went top 5 on my Metal Chart from Swedish Metal band CRASHDÏET. They have a sound much like Skid Row/Shotgun Messiah/Sister/ . This band is also on Frontiers Music records label. My last add was one on downloaded on first preview, so I don't know much about the band. I know their name HUNNY, and that this song features Bleached, and that "Saturday Night" sounds a lot like Spanish indierock. That's enough to make my adds list.

* New Metal music Chart. I haven't posted on for a few weeks so my chart has changed a lot since then. These week my featured songs are represented by Metal bands from England, New York and Sweden. New to the chart are a few songs charting on the official Active chart from Halestorm, Dirty Honey, and The Black Moods. The new debuts this week include the second single off WILDSTREET's 'Three Way Ride'. I like this one even more than "Tennessee Cocaine". My second debut comes from Midnight City who are on AOR Heaven record label. It's another single off 2018's 'THERE GOES THE NEIGHBOURHHOOD'. The song follows the style of band's like Danger Danger and Reckless Love. Very uptempo with the basslines and anthemic catchy chorus. That brings us to my new #1 from England's very own Passion. "Trespass On Love" is the first single off their 2020 debut album 'Passion". I'll close out this week's chart by saying that these last three Music videos will take you back to '89 Glam Metal heaven.

Thanksgiving Weekend brings an incredible week of action on this week's chart. First we have Freeweights with a strong hold on #1, but right on their tail come Green Day and two of my favorite Indiebops of 2019 from Echosmith and MisterWives which incidentally are my two favorite Indiepop bands of the moment. also crashing the top 10 are Cage The Elephant's "Social Cues" and Angles and Airwaves scoring their first ever top 10 hit on my chart with "Rebel Girl". Do want more excitement? How about three new hot debuts? Our highest goes to Swedish rockers CRASHDÏET. "Rust" is the third song I'm charting from them and also the third time they reveal a new lead singer. My other two debuts are indiebops from of Monsters and Men and a late debuting song from Fickle Friends' latest E.P. called "The Moment". More action with big moves from Ozzy, la Oreja de Van Gogh, Saint Motel, and the biggest jump going to Neon Trees for "Used To Like". HOT LIST: My first add and favorite song of the week is a new song from The Beaches. I love this one so much I even made a thread for it. I'll soon find out if it qualifies, but it is charting on Con Can top 40. Anyway, "Want What You Got" gots that perfect indierock vibe I look for and female vocals. I charted "T-Shirt" and almost charted a few others from them, but this one is getting chart action for sure. Another one of my favorite bands is the Spanish sometimes indierock, sometimes indiepop band Victimas del Doctor Cerebro. The lead singer is also lead for two other bands I chart called Abominables and Six Million Dollar Weirdo. Their new single "Loba" is pure Spanish Rock that souds like it came straight out of 1987. My last add is "Risk" from Metric. An older song, but it is also on Canada Rock so while previewing other jams I rediscovered this one again. Cool music video. Kinda reminded me of Blondie strutting around on "Rapture".

* This week I bring you my #1 all time Ric Ocasek song. It's the song who's music video features the same model as Ratt's "Lay It Down" video which is in fact the same model on the sleeve art for 'Invasion of Your Privacy'. That's right! Marianne Gravatte. 1982's Playmate of the year also appears in "Something To Grab For". It's my favorite Ric Ocasek song, and music video for many reasons. One being that it's his first single off his first solo album 'Beatitude'. I also like that it's was a bit more edgy than the songs on 'Shake It Up", so it reminded me more of the first two albums with a bit of the garage rock style of "Got A Lot On My Head". Chart positions include #47 on B.B. Hot 100. #5 Hot Rocks , #43 on KLOS top 95.5 of 1983 . and of course my #13 song of 1983 top 100 songs of the year..

Can Green Day score another Number 1 hit before the end of 2019? That is the question, but this week still belongs to Freeweights and their very 80's synthpop hit "Close Call". Skillet score another top 5 hit with "Legendary". I say enjoy it, because the rest of that album didn't really entice me at all. Also scoring their first top 10 hit on my chart is White Reaper with the ultra catchy indierock jam "Might Be Right". Getting right into our debuts we have Metric with "Risk" at #60. BAND-MAID score have J-PopMetal with "Endless Story" and the highest debut is from the British Glam Rock band Passion debuting with their very first hit ever "Trespass On Love". Freeweights hold on for a fourth week to #1 with "Close Call" keeping the rest of the top 10 in balance. The only new entry at #7 is "Under The Graveyard" the new Ozzy Osbourne  song burning up the charts and new #1 song on Active Rock charts. This week I debut four new songs. All different music vibes, and we start off with some classic 70''s Heavy Metal from Dirty Honey titled "Rolling 7's". At #58 I bring "1969" another Kim Wilde single from "The Aliens Are Coming". Spanish Rock fans will celebrate the return of Victimas del Doctor Cerebro. Their style is melodic poprock with Halloween themed titles. This week I debut "Loba" which is not a cover of Shakira's pop hit, but it is fiercly melodic. My highest debut comes from Foals. It's their new single titled "The Runner" . It's a pity this song hasn't caught on on the Alternative charts, cuz its a pretty great song. Mad Music video action and some sleeve art and we are ready to get started.  Red= Debut song. HOT LIST: These week my three adds are all related to each other in one way or another. Let's start off with Nasty Cherry. The band Charli XCX put together for the Netflix original "I'm With Nasty Cherry". I haven't seen it but I've heard a few of the band's songs and "Brain Soup" seems to be the one I most gel with. It has some 80's vibes . Maybe a little Vanity 6 too. The lead singer has a Joan Jett thing going on with her look, but The only member I actually recognize is Chloe Chaidez from Kitten which brings me to add number 2 from Kitten themselves. "Me! is the new single the E.P. 'Goodbye Honeymoon Phase'. The song is one big ball of energy and if you love the bass then you will love the my last add from Kitten's bass player Blu De Tiger. So far she has released three of her own spacey funk jams. She is also a buzzworthy dee jay producing her own effix. All three of her songs are interesting, but I got my ears and eyes on "Tangerine". It's also my Pick hit of the week.

New Metal Music Chart:
Quite a bit of changes in this week's chart including new music from two Rock acts who charted song in 1990. First is Vixen The four women Glam Metal outfit from Minnesota. They released a live album titled "Live Fire" Last year. Now they have released the studio version of "You Oughta Know By Now". Second is the Powerpop band Enuff Z' nuff. They released "Diamond Boy" on Frontiers Records and tho I'm not too fond of the first two singles I did take a liking to the Cheap Trick like sound of "Dopesick". One of the lyrics even mentions the word Cheap Trick. Elsewhere on the chart is my #1 song from Ozzy Osbourne with "Straight To Hell". This one is also on the Active chart. Next week I'll definitely be debuting the new Through Fire song covering Roxette's classic "Listen To Your Heart".

Last week was my last official 2019 chart. I hate taking breaks ,so every song will now feature 2020 starting this week. which means I have started my official 2020 charts. It also means most songs below the top 10 on a downward spiral have gone to 2019 recurrent heaven. I don't wanna say the new year brings us a new #1 song, but it kinda sorta does. "Lonely Generation" The new Echosmith single in which the song's lyrics hit home more than we would like to admit is my new #1 song of the week. The 2019 cleanup also gives us four new debuts. Gone this week are WARKINGS feat The Queen of The Dammed, Twin XL, Stand Atlantic, and blink -182. In their place we welcome songs from Work of Art, The Runnaway Club, Beaches, and the highest debut going to the quirky Electro Disco band Confidence Man for their extremely catchy "C.O.O.L Party". Music Videos and sleeve art to kick off a new 2020 music year. Red=Debut.Purple=big Move and () is song's highest peak to date.

News Flash:
Just released is the new music video for Ozzy Osbourne - "Under The Graveyard" featuring Val Kilmer's son Jack Kilmer playing the part of Ozzy. It's a great video of Sharon saving Ozzy from his own addiction. It is also my 5 start video of the week for telling a great story with a fierce sound track.
