Since this is the track being pushed as the next single off of the hit album Something To Be, remixes may be commissioned for this track just as they were for "Lonely No More."
Despite the rock sound of it, it could make for some interesting mixes since the rock/dance hybrid thing has been a feature of dance music for a few months now.
Any ideas on who might be doing mixes for this one?

Any ideas on who might be doing mixes for this one? Isn't it better to stop misleading people and wait until remixes have been announced? Does everything really needs to be remixed? Especially a rock act? We need more original dance artists, less remixes of tracks from other genres if Dance Music is to survive.

Threads are started well in advance of an actual release. Threads for other artists' songs that didn't have remixes announced had been created well in advance. How should this be any different? I'll leave it at that.

It's misleading because there are no remixes, they haven't been announced, and we don't even know if this track will get remixes at all! This is different than the Music News section because you're especifically referring to club mixes... club mixes that up until now do not exist and may never exist. It's better to wait for an actual announcement. IMHO.

I was referring in to all the other similar topics (i.e. Lindsey Lohan). The Dance Music community needs to discover more dance artists and rely less on remixes. I truly believe that. God I miss the late 80s and early 90s... it gave us so many dance acts. Jomanda, come back!

I'm guilty of past preemptive postings about songs I wanted remixed...I think it's funny that DJs remix songs even though the artists have explicitly stated that they don't like the club music scene...case in point, the Junior Vasquez mixes of Maroon 5's "This Love." How are dance mixes commissioned? Is it the record companies? Do the artists have any say? I could have sworn that I read somewhere that Maroon 5 didn't want/approve their music getting club treatments.

Jomanda, come back! The 80's and 90's had some great artists and songs. No remixes needed then. An occasional extended mix did the trick for the clubs.

How are dance mixes commissioned? Is it the record companies? Do the artists have any say? I could have sworn that I read somewhere that Maroon 5 didn't want/approve their music getting club treatments. A lot of the artists hate the dance remixes, but from time to time certain people on their label push them to give a remix the 'okay' for promotional purposes anyway (case in point: Amy Lee of Evanescence won't participate in any of that, but her publicist loved the Gabriel & Dresden vs Trifecta Bootleg and gave club DJs every legal right to play it as much as they want). I know that's not a completely direct analogy to a commercial release, but it gives you an idea. As for this song getting remixed, this thread seems perfectly reasonable, and I think there's a 90% chance someone will remix it - even if you've never heard of them; it goes unreleased; it's not particularly good; or if you never hear it. You'd be surprised what's out there :)

I agree, we need to rely on remixes less, but remixes of some artists like Mariah, Madonna, etc are essentials.

It would be interesting, though, to see how a dj would transform this into a remix. I really like this song!

It would be interesting, though, to see how a dj would transform this into a remix. I really like this song! It would be cool if they could do alternate mix to the original that isn't a dance mix. Like it could be slightly different from the original but not that different. Like that Marius DeVries Mix of Sarah McLachlan's "World On Fire." The remix didn't sound very different from the original. Something like that would be cool.

I agree with Deep Dance, I was annoyed by that a long time ago
Why not call it
"Rob Thomas - Blabla bla any remixes?"
Much better

yeah, it would be cool it they did an alternate mix,,,,,,, i purchased that rob thomas cd single that was available at target, and had all the remixes. On it was the "downtown version" of one of his songs, called something to be. It's has a much different sound to it, and its along the lines of what we are talking about. Very cool.

On WinMX, there appears to be a mix of this. I'm not sure if it's a dance mix or not, but when you type in search, it shows up a the " 'Guitar Down' radio mix". You cannot downlaod it though. I just hate how there are some songs that no matter how hard you try, you just can't download them. Anybody know what i'm talking about?

It's so annoying. Someone mentioned a couple months back that WinMX has been invaded by fake files, and that's messing it up. I'll try to find this mix.

I just heard the Mike Rizzo edit of this on AOL Radio, it's pretty decent, not straying too much from the original. It's faster paced than the Hani mix but not as good i don't think, anyone have this too share??? ; )

I read about a new mix by That Kid Chris on DJRICOMIXSHOW...according to DJRICO...
That Kid Chris remixes the new Rob Thomas single "This Is How A Heart Breaks", this mix is one of the best remixes I heard from TKC, a club banger with a nice piano arrangement turns this mix a winner, expect the remixes to be released on 12" vinyl from Atlantic.

Official mixes by That Kid Chris, Lenny Bertoldo, Ford and Pull. The Hani mix was commissioned, by Atlantic passed on it.
