Ellie did an Instagram live last night, where she mentioned that she's recording new music for her upcoming fourth album and she's going to do a tour from later this year to early 2018.

I wonder how soon? I'd like a May single with a July album release. A hot summer smash but I hope her album steps back closer to her Halcyon era. Mystical pop

yay!
Delirium was an undeserved flop, but I don't quite know whether to blame that on her label or on Ellie herself...both kind of checked out on US promo. Hoping that everyone has their minds right this time!

Delirium is the best Pop album of this decade and the best overall since Blackout. Bar nothing. So I'm extremely excited whenever this ends up happening.
I'm surprised it is supposedly coming this year since I remember her saying she was planning on taking most of this year off, but I'm definitely not complaining. Hoping it's not ill-executed protest music like she hinted when her last album came out, and material that sticks to her strengths. Halcyon and Delirium were my favorite 1-2 albums since...uhhhhh...mmmmm...I guess Daydream and Butterfly? I'm trying to think of another in that period, but not coming up with anything on the spot.
I need something like this. To get me ready for that Heaven playlist once I scam my way out the inferno due to overcrowding.

I used to really like her, but I can't get into this last album at all. It's just too instant, if you know what I mean. It lacks soul, it all feels too calculated and sterile. Hopefully she'll move away from the pop scene and just do music not wanting to appeal to pop radio, cause that's what attracted people to her.

Her last album proved that there is no safe way to success.

Her Insta story showed her working with BloodPop. I can't say I'm excited but if anyone can make BloodPop work it's Ellie.

She better get her ass back in the studio with Greg Kurstin and Fred Gibson. "We Can't Move To This" still has me shook.

I really like Ellie, but somehow the last cd was just boring to me? Boring even as she tried to make catchy current pop music? I don't mind her trying for some calculated hits, but I hope a bit more of her comes through on it.

Don't forget Ryan Tedder showing his hidden tribal side with Keep On Dancin' (assuming he brings something along those lines and not some of the unfinished-sounding Dance hybrids on OneRepublic's latest).

Ellie's music can be interesting but Delirium really wasn't that interesting. There were some jams on it though. We Can't Move To This was a jam, as was Lost & Found and a few other tracks.

Anyway, she posted the pic below on Instagram with the phrase 'WRAP'. I think it's early for new music from her, so maybe she has a new partnership like she had with Pantene? https://www.instagram.com/p/BRCFZzwFbs9

I loved Delirium, I'm annoyed it didn't perform that well - the promo was all over the place.
The better moments on the album are usually the more experimental, or those that are closer to her previous work. I actually don't think it was that geared towards achieving hits, although it may have looked like that on paper. She's got a very particularly brand of electronic pop going.

If this is true, I'm super excited. Her songs tend to be hit-or-miss for me, but when it hits it hits hard (especially "Lights" and "Love Me Like You Do" both of which were one of my favorite songs of their respective years). I also bought Halcyon Days at a CD store recently since I saw it on sale for about $4.50 but haven't actually touched it so I should get on that to get ready

I'm exciting but also a bit hesitant. I'd love for it to be a song I loved as much as Anything Can Happen, though I did really like On My Mind too. Bookmarking this thread anyway!

Add me to the list of those for whom she can be pretty hit-or-miss, though I noticed that with everything leading up to Delirium's album release, I really liked each song for a few weeks and then they quickly burned out. Glad to see she's back (and presumably healthy) again, though!

I pretty much either love or dislike her singles. She's yet to put out something I only somewhat liked.

I've been seeing one on Youtube for a few weeks now, called "Something In The Way You Move". It reminded me a bit of Taylor Swift's "Style". The MV shows her playing drums and rocking out and she looks hot. Is that the one?

I can't believe Dr. Indie discovered the new Ellie single before anyone else! Dr. Sleuth!
